I am curious if any knows, or has heard, whether or not the COP will begin normal operation?

I love this attraction, and I have missed it since it hasn't been operating when we go in the off season. I hope it doesn't close permanantly!!

I believe it is running all the time right now untill The new stitch show opens.

It is indeed operating on a daily basis until Stitch's Great Escape opens. At that time, it will most likely return to seasonal operation (typically Christmas-New Year, Spring Break/Easter, and July 4 week for that attraction.)

It is running regularly until the Stitch ride opens (Stitch will be in the former Alien Encounter location). I believe that Stitch is scheduled for soft opening starting around September.

My son will be thrilled. He loves the song in CoP. In fact, he drives us nuts singing that song over and over and over.

On second thought, maybe we'll skip it. ;)

That is excellent news!! While I am looking forward to the Stitch ride and hoping it is open on our upcoming trip in October, I do hope that COP is still running then. Thank you all!!!

I read in my new Disney Magazine that COP was rated #2 as the most underrated attraction in MK, (TTA being #1)

This was a survey done through the magazine itself.

It gave me hope to think maybe the powers that be will realize people really do love this ride.
It was also a top choice in a few other catagories too!!

CoP is my favorite ride! :) If the closed it I would be so devasted. I'm glad it will be open when we are there this summer. :)

I was thrilled yeasterday when I strolled by and COP was running. It did smell a little musty and look a little worn. I hope that it will be around for years to come.

It was running in March and in May when we were there, and I think it will keep running untill Stitch opens. However, Timekeeper was running in March but not in May for those interested...

OMG CoP is like my favorite thing in magic kingdom, as sad as that might be! I LOVE CoP!

does anybody know if COP will be open the week after the 4th of july. we will not be arriving at WDW until july 7th .

i first experienced COP at the worlds fair and every time i have been to WDW i make it a point to see it again and bring back those great memories!!!

my kids have never seen it so this time i have told them that before we leave MK we are going to see COP.

  hurry countdown we'll be there soon!!!

I'm so glad this question was asked...we are leaving tomorrow and we were just wondering the same thing. Disney says that they run COP during peak times, but we have been on Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends in the last few years and it is STILL not open!!! I guess these are not considered 'peak' weekends.

Well, we will definitely be able to catch it for the first time in a few years now! Yea! :bounce:

CoP has always been one of my favorites, so I was thrilled when we got to see it in March. Unfortunately there were only about 10 of us in the theater and it was quite worn. A few of the chairs were broken and in one section the lights didn't come on to illuminate the sister and we could only hear her talking. It was sad to see it in such bad shape.

On another note...does anyone remember how the dog used to have a different name in each era?? Now he's called the same name throughout. We thought that was so funny when we were kids.

Please let Disney know if you see noticeable defects anywhere. I am sure that significant broken items in COP will be fixed, it is just that defects might not have been noticed or the last light bulb in that section may have failed just an hour ago.

Why is this attraction only open during peak time and not all year? We were able to see it this past Jan, but it has been closed on all of our other recent trips. I love COP and would love to see it every trip.

We saw it earlier this month. They have updated the last stage and brought it into the 21st century. I wouldn't be suprised to see it open all the time now.
