an indoor roller coaster style Incredibles ride

Yeah, an indoor roller coaster based on anything in Tomorrowland wouldn't make sense because Space Mountain is already there. Maybe you confused this rumor with the rumor of the Monsters Inc. coaster for DHS.
which doesn't make sense in my opinion - and I agree it's not what Tomorrowland needs at all. But all rides are Character based - The character may be a pirate
, ghost, or Peter pan... but they are characters none the less.I'm hoping you're right and that my SIL misunderstood. With the dining plan being so popular it does seem that the MK could use another table service restaurant.

Charleyann: THose kinds of rides (which I love) are exactly the ones that Disney is fond of closing. Witness World of Motion and Horizons. Even though Walt is directly connected with COP, that wouldn't stop Disney for a second if they thought closing it and putting in a thrill ride would be more popular.
And sorry to say--it probably WOULD be more popular.
But let's hope COP can stay the course.

Perhaps it should not be updated; keep it frozen in time so later generations can see what life was like in the 20th century.
It warms my heart just thinking about riding CoP (hopefully it will be open) on our next trip home in March.
Especially when you randomly hear some kid singing it while walking around the kingdom, just makes me smile.
I hope that the Carousel of Progress dose not get shut down! I havn't rode it, but I have read so much about it and I love the song "There's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" it's so much fun (I have the Disney Land 50th anniversary soundtrack). One day I want to experience the magic of Carousel of Progress in all its wonderment!!!!![]()
Its so cool, and I appreciate it more now than I used to. its amazing that we still get to see Walt's work.

Maybe they should add a pre-show outling the history of the attraction - it could be a real heavy-duty trip into 60's retro-land, showcasing....
...Walt showing off the attraction in 1963 (before it debuted at the '64 Worlds Fair) on his weekly "Wonderful World of Color" TV show:

...its original home in the General Electric "Progressland" Pavillion (I visted this as a child!):

A glimpse of the previously-mentioned "city of the future" model that you went through while exiting the pavillion:

And just to show how advanced the Disney attractions at the Fair were (in addition to COP, other pavillions at the fair showcased the Lincoln animatronic, It's A Small World and the dinosaurs that still inhabit parts of the railroad at Disneyland), they could show what some of the other ones were like - such as these performers in the "Wonderful World of Chemistry" show in the Monsanto pavillion....![]()
