Almost all people at Yelp didnt like it, to noisy, small rooms. On Trip advisor, almost everyone liked it. Who should I belive?:confused3
I have a reservation for July.....I also have a reservation for Candy Cane, but is $150 dollars more. Please give me some input... Thanks

We've stayed at the Carousel Inn a few times and it has been hit or miss. Our first stay our room was very clean, staff very helpful and I love the room where free breakfast is offered - fun view of the parks and Disney cartoons playing. We decided it was the best place of the hotels directly across the street. You can also catch the fireworks from the roof if you head back early. Then our next stay we had some issues getting the room we actually reserved. They did take care of us once we spoke with a manager. Our third stay the room wasn't as clean as I typically expect, but I just called down and then came right up and cleaned the bathroom better and offered us a room switch if we wanted.

Overall - I'm not very high maintenance at DL hotels b/c we aren't in the room that much - I would stay there again if the price was right. For the minor issues we have had - the staff was very good at fixing them and keeping us happy.

And seriously - you are going to have a great time regardless of which hotel you end up at.

You can't please anyone. I would say listen more to Trip Advisor. The Carousel is lovely as it is on my top two places to stay when at Disneyland. 4 of us adults in one room and we never complain about the size of it. Yes it's a motel, but it is clean, the rooms look very nice, a great location, the service is pretty good, the beds comfortable, a decent free breakfast, and they have a decent rooftop pool. I have never had a noise issue other then the occasional person dragging luggage as they walk by or kids excitedly talking in the morning. As long as you understand that you are booking an average sized motel room, and not a 5 start penthouse suite, I think you wont have a problem. This is Disneyland, where many people visit, and I am sure they have to condense rooms slightly to accommodate more people. Also to keep the popularity of the place or even the motel running, they have to keep up to certain standards. At the end of the day all anyone really looks for is a room to shower and lay their head. You wont be spending tons of time there anyway. I say save your money and stay where you can walk to the park easily. :)

My brother and I stayed at the Carousel for 1 week at the end of August of last year. It was fine for us and we would definately stay there again. Like any motel on Harbour, it will have some noise issues from the street as the doors are not in a corridor, but with the air on and being tired from fun all day and night, falling asleep was no trouble at all :) I always bring cheap foam earplugs to squish and place in ears for any place I stay. Don't hear a thing except the alarm to wake me up :)

Have a great time!

I am going to take your advice and stay at the Carousel.;)

I will buy the earplugs at the airport (LAX), havent seen those around here, but its a great idea.:)

It is ok..but I only gave it 2 stars on hotels.com. The pretty tower seen in the picture is not where the rooms are. It reminds me of an old motor motel. I thought it was too expensive for what it was. The best thing is the location..a quick walk to the parks..but I won't stay there again.

Just got back from staying there. The rooms are fine if you ask me. The TV is dated but it wasn't turned on even once. It is very easy to hear people walking by your room making you wonder if the doors/windows are "thin" or if the people are talking really loud. Beds and pillows were very comfortable. Bathroom was nice.

The air conditioner started sounding like a helicopter late during our first night. The next morning we went down and asked them to fix it. We left for the park, came back that night and it was back to normal.

Would have preferred a better (hot) breakfast. They had 2 cereals, hard boiled eggs, white and wheat bread/toast, 2 or 3 types of bagels, 2 or 3 types of donuts, 2 or 3 types of danish, juice, milk and coffee.

The staff at check-in was very nice. The single person working the desk at 7am when we complained about the air conditioning was minimally attentive which was kind of annoying. But it got fixed soooo can't complain too much.

Would stay there again if not only for the proximity to the park - 7 min walk from gate to hotel.

4/5 stars.

Our biggest concern was that the windows were left open by housekeeping and didn't notice this right away..maybe that was why you heard people so well? My friend was never sure if her windows latched. The windows are large and open right on the walkway so very easy for someone to get in if not locked. I had carpet, my friend didn't. Room was large and did have microwave, safe, little frig and coffeemaker so that was fine. Stuff had been left on the floor from a previous guest and bathroom floor was sticky. The breakfast didn't start serving until 7..kinda late I thought, so too late for us since the airport shuttle was due at 6:45 am..so a little trip to McD's was in order. Still..as I said earlier..nice lacation..super easy walk. I found the staff fair..but kinda like they were playing at being hotel staff..

where you at a concierge room , or a standard if I may ask ?
I am going to get Tower two queens........

We stayed there a few years ago and I will say I was pretty disappointed in it. Our bathroom wasn't as clean as I'd like it, but aside from that it was fairly clean. It is just so worn and dated. Our tv didn't work, but that wasn't a big deal for me. Personally, I would pay a bit more to stay some place nicer, but the things important to me may not be to the next person. The walk was nice -I will give them that.

Again..they call it 'Tower" but it just means the room is on the side of the property that has the tower thing in it..which I think is the breakfast/concierge area. The tower rooms are like 4 stories high and are like a motor court..doors open onto an outside walkway like a Motel Six. It is very deceptive to call them Tower rooms as there is really no tower :confused3. That is what struck me immediately..the tower thing is like a facade hiding a motor court.

I guess it was standard :confused3. I forgot to take pictures of the room so I could do a thorough review in a trip report.

So what do you recomend in my case? I don't want to have the breakfast room above me......

Is there a reason you want to be in the Tower?

Also the breakfast area is in the Tower on the 5th/top floor, not sure if this was made clear previously. We stayed in the top floor, 6 doors down from the breakfast area. Cool view of DCA from there.

no there is no reason, I just want to be far from the noise of the pool and the breakfast area (light sleeper here), so I was wondering if you remember your room number maybe?
