Can anyone tell me more about Parrot Cay and the playground located there? I will be staying at CBR at the end of the month with my son and would like some additional information on the playground(s) ... and I haven't been able to find much on them or any pictures.

Thanks!

The playgrounds on the island were removed when I visited 6/03. It is still a lovely island, but I was sad to see to playground.

Does anyone know if taxi's are readily available from CBR? We may need to make a grocery run and I was wondering if that would be possible without a rental car. Does the resort sell basic groceries? Milk? Bread? Thanks.

What are the 'taxies' like? Are they free? I'm confused :confused3

The taxies are there if you need to go anywhere. They are not free. There is a base charge and a per minute charge.

Oh I see...Thank you. For some reason I thought they were 'Disney' taxies that go with the resort theme and they take you from island to island. Oops  it was a dorkie question.

safetymom, are there really refrigerators in the rooms now at the CBR?
Is there a charge? Do you have to request one?
The last time I was there, I only had a refrigerated mini-bar.
TIA!

planning on trip early june to cbr and wondered if y'all had a suggestion as to what building/ room to request. we have 1 1/2 yr old and 3 adults. also when should we send in request? what about kids area in pool or playgrounds? anything appropriate for 1 1/2 yr old? any other important info i need to know about resort. we don't mind a little walk but don't want to have to carry little one too far when coming in at nite.
thanks,

I have stayed in Jamaica a few times and have really enjoyed it. I would reccomend Buildings 45, 44, or 46 (close to bus stop (2-4 min walks) and Old Port Royale (food court, shops, main pool (3-5 minute walk)). If you booked the room yourself (not using a TA service) then you should call and have it noted on your reservation...if you did use a TA service have them call for you to have it noted. Also it doesn't hurt to ask at check-in. There is a children's wading pool at the Old Port Royale about a 3-5 min walk from any of the buildings I noted. Also Jamaica does have a playground on it's beach.

Here is a link to a map for you:

Enjoy your trip :)

Just wanted to add a pic of the Jamaica playground for you could see if it would work for your 1 1/2 year old :)

I also have pictures of the playgrounds on my website listed below. You will also find the CBR map given at check in on my site.

Just a note on the fridge... we had to turn ours all the way down to 1 (was set on 3) because the milk and fruit froze.

We are staying at CBR during value season, but it's also Labor Day weekend. I booked a preferred room, but I wondered if I should change my reservation to a standard room and request the Jamaica building to save $. Do they generally honor requests? What are your experiences?

We stayed in Martinique and it was worth it. We had requested it and got it. Personally, I will request Martinique again, but Jamaica wouldn't be a bad location either...

I was wondering if CBR still has ice machines for guests? We are a family of 2 parents, 4 kids, and a grandmother staying in 2 rooms at CBR at the end of June. I am planning a grocery shop, and I think even having 2 fridges that we may need a small styrofoam cooler to keep enough cool drinks on hand for that hot time period. I wondered if I would need to buy ice or if it would still be available for free at the resort (thought they may have removed since all rooms now have a fridge). Thanks for your help :-)
