If you haven't read the FAQ threads on CBR I suggest you do. The front page has lots of information. I found the food at the food court good. I haven't eaten at the restaurant.

Thank you for all this great information on CBR. I really appreciate all the detailed info. I do have a question for you. Will I need a stroller to haul around my 21 month old and 3 year old to go to the guest house from the Martinique or the main pool area? I'm just trying to get perspective as to how big this place really is. Also, do you know how accommodating the CMs are about giving ground floor rooms to guests with big double strollers? I dread taking this heavy stroller up and down stairs every time we leave the room.

You will probably want to use your stroller. Not sure what you mean by guest house. The Customs house is located away from the villages. That is where you check in and usually don't visit it again unless you need to check on something. There is an internal bus at the resort.

I am sure the CM's will do their best to get you a first floor room. If you have paid extra nightly to be in Martinique you will be right next to the main pool and food court.

I didn't pay any extra to be in Martinique. Just called the week before and asked. We were in building 26, couldn't have been closer to the cool pool and food court.

I am anti stroller, so didn't use one at all and didn't see a need. Well, except for the afternoon I took the bus back from Animal Kingdom with my sick sound asleep 2 year old and it was downpouring. Got off at the Martinique stop, but it was a hike. If I had gotten off at Old Port Royale instead it would have been nothing.

Most of the buildings now in Martinique and Trinidad North are now preferred locations costing extra nightly. You may make a request for these locations but chances are you wouldn't receive it unless it is very slow at the resort.

I'm not sure if this was asked before but I couldn't find it on the thread.
Does anyone know if they have ice cream cones at CBR? We are booked at POR but DH would like to stay at CBR again so I'm trying to compare the food courts and on All-Ears it shows ice cream cones in the POR food court but not CBR. Our last stay was too long ago to remember.

There isn't a ice cream area at CBR. You can get the Mickey bars, cones, etc. like what they have in the park but not like where you can tell them vanilla, choc, etc.

I have another question for you. Do you know which building houses all the smoking rooms? I thought I remembered reading something about that but now I can't find it. Are all the smoking rooms contained in this one building or are there rooms spread out throughout the resort? I'm very smoke sensitive and trying to avoid that area if possible.

21 Special needs rooms
2,048 Non Smoking rooms
64 Smoking rooms- Aruba 5100 is smoking optional

Thanks! I knew I read it somewhere and I re-read through the entire first CBR thread before I got frustrated trying to find it. I appreciate all your help and knowledge.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for all the great info on CBR. We just took our first family trip May 12-16 and stayed in 4459, in Jamaica. Just a short walk from OPR shops. And we got towel animals twice while we were there! :)

can you cross through the middle of parrot cay island to go to old port royale from jamacia? trying to decide which buildings to request. also are there only 2 playgrounds, 1 at martinique and 1 at triniadad south.

thanks,
mikewdw

There is a bridge at Jamaica that you can cross to Old Port Royale and the main pool. There is a playground at Jamaica. If you look at my pictures I have pictures of all the playgrounds and their locations.

safetymom,
which building would you recommend for us. we are dh,dw, 1 1/2 yr dd, and sister inlaw. we dont mind a little walking at the resort but dont wont a long walk either. we dont mind paying for preferred location if its worth it. my wife will end up bringing dd back to the resort by herself the most for naps. dont wont her to have to walk too far from bus stop. what do you think would be best for us. would also like to be somewhat close to kiddie pool and playground.
thanks,
mikewdw

I am a big fan of the preferred buildings. I would rather do that than pay for a water view. Since you want to be near a playground and a pool I would suggest Jamaica. There is a playground next to the bridge from Jamaica over to Old Port Royale the food court and main and kiddie pool. There are several playgrounds in CBR but since there is quite a bit of beach you might want to bring some sand toys. They also sell some kids lunchs in a pail with a shovel.

There are many bus stops so it usually isn't much of a walk.

You will have a great time at CBR. :)
