We received an email from Disney Visa with a code that has a discount. you dont need the code when reserving, you just need to have the disney visa. I called yesterday and they had to verify that the card i was using was indeed a disney visa, then they discounted my already existing reservation. By making that call, i saved $480.00!!! YEAH!!!

Yes, We are driving also. Here s the addresse we had to use.

Walt Disney World Resort
World Drive W BUenena Vista Drive
Orlando Fl. 32801

Here's something that might be a weird question... there are a couple of addresses at the beginning of the thread, and I was wondering what one to use for Mapquesting purposes, since we are driving.

I have a prefered room book at CBR. I am wondering should I send a fax request for a certain room location?

Hi Pamouselover! We're getting close!!! I've spoken to one of the top managers at CBR (on another website that I frequent) and she highly suggested sending a fax in with requests.

The address to use to map the drive is the 900 Cayman Way address. :)

Hello everyone! My girlfriend and I recently returned from our 6 day/5 night stay at Caribbean Beach Resort and I just wanted to give my personal review of the property.

We waited in a very fast-moving Magical Express check in line at Orlando International Airport and went to wait for a bus. Less than five minutes later, we were on a bus that shuttled us quite rapidly to Disney World. Caribbean Beach happened to be the first stop on the Magical Express bus from the airport, so we got off and landed at the Custom House.

There were a few people there before us, but within a couple of minutes we were checking in with a very friendly and helpful Cast Member. Although we knew much about the resort from reading and planning, she gave us a pretty thorough spiel about services, buses, and the Key to the World card with charging privileges. I'd say from the airport Magical Express check-in to completion of Caribbean Resort check-in a total of about one hour to one hour and 15 minutes had passed (this was great for us because our flight leaving Houston had been delayed and put a small dent into our vacation time later in the day.)

We reserved a King Bed Room and requested either the village of Jamaica or Martinique and we were assigned Jamaica 4228.

Our Room

After using the Internal Resort Shuttle bus to get from the Custom House to Jamaica, we arrived at our room at it was beautiful. The view from our room faced the lake which was amazing!

It was also very convenient to the Jamaica beach, the Jamaica village pool, and Caribbean Cay as well as Old Port Royale via the Cay.

The room itself was nice-sized with a very comfy bed. Everything in the room functioned properly and was very clean throughout. The bathroom was immaculate with a shower that had a good temperature and pressure, good toilet, and great sinks and dressing area. We never heard a peep from our next-door neighbors when we were actually in the room.

The resort is chock full of animals; we saw lots of bunnies, cranes, lizards, ducks, and birds of all sorts. The Jamaica pool was nice as well. It isn't huge, but the guests who used it were never crammed with other families. At it's most shallow, I believe the pool is three feet, six inches and at the deepest point, it's right at six feet. The Jamaica beach was beautiful - hammocks and plenty of reclining beach chairs to enjoy.

Even The Ducks Love The Beach!

This resort is a bit spread out, which is now a fact that I think people tend to over-exaggerate, but the bus service is amazing. Buses for the parks we visited each day were very frequent and never full until returning to CBR at park closing which is very understandable. The bus stops are covered and have fans (that didn't help a ton during the summer heat) with four benches to sit on and vending machines to use while waiting. I did walk from Jamaica to the Custom House once and while I wouldn't advise it if the resort shuttles are running (I went around 6:30 AM before the shuttles started,) it's not taxing or a bad walk at all if needed.

I would strongly recommend Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort to any guest to Disney World choosing to stay on property. It's quiet atmosphere makes it great for singles, young couples, older couples, and more mature families and it's plants, animals, theming, and recreation makes it attractive to families with young and old kids alike.

We had a great time and everyone at Caribbean Beach went out of their way to help and make our stay as enjoyable and pleasant as possible.

whats Caribbean Cay???

Thanks for the pics Ethan... Pics & great reports like yours helps us when choosing resorts! :)

whats Caribbean Cay???

It's simply an "island" connected with bridges to facilitate easier travel to and from Old Port Royale for the villages on the other side of the lake.

It has some tucked away romantic/chill out spots with hammocks in it and tropical themed music is played at a comfortable volume in the background throughout.

Thanks for the kind words! :)

Hi all. I just got off the phone with CRO, and they advised that the main pool at CBR is being refurbished from January to September 2008.

Just though you all might want to know.

I booked anyway (I'm not going with kids), and requested a room close to a quiet pool.

We are going to be at CBR for DD's first disney trip September 3-8. My parents are going along also and would like to know if you can buy beer and/or whiskey at the gift shop? Does anyone know what something like this costs at a WDW gift shop? I tried to find some info/prices but can't so any help would be apprecaited.

Thanks,
Stephanie :)

Great question, and yes you can! I was very surprised to find this out myself. :)

A six pack of domestic beer was right at $12 in the beverage refrigerators and they have various kinds of whiskey, cigars, and cigarettes behind the checkout counter at the very far left of the Calypso Trading Post. I don't know how much the hard alcohol was, but considering that I would've gladly taken a taxi to the Hess near Downtown Disney to get beer, I thought $12 for the six-pack was more than reasonable!

Thanks, and have fun! :wizard:

What is the fax number? Can you phone or e-mail your requests?

Also, if any other CBR experts can answer this, I would really appreciate it! Are there any buildings/villages that you can see SSE/fireworks from?

Thanks!

While I certainly don't discourage anyone from faxing a request straight to the resort, I don't think it's absolutely necessary. I personally had mine put on my reservation when arranging everything with CRO. I verified with CRO that it was indeed on there about 10 days before we came.

I was looking for Spaceship Earth from CBR while we were there, but I couldn't see it from the Jamaica side of the lake. I think I remember seeing a little peek of it from Old Port Royale, but I could be wrong.

Hi! I paid for my vacation with the Disney Visa, but no one said anything about a discount. Should I call back & tell them I paid with a Disney Visa? Will I get the discount? TIA!

The fax number that I was given is 407-934-3288. I normally just call CRO to have my requests notated with my reservation, however, this year it's a bit more complicated so the manager asked me to fax my request in a week prior to arrival. We have family members ranging in age from 8 months to 92 years old, plus my husband is a disabled vet. We need to make sure our rooms are located on a first floor, close to a DSA and as close to the bridge to OPR as possible. My grandfather is a lively 92 year old, however, he can't manage stairs too well and neither can my husband if he's been walking all day. Other than that, the walking within the resort isn't bad at all and they both will manage well.

My DH asked if the CBR had a internet connection? Is it free or is there a fee?
Thank you!

Do you know if they have a computer room where a wireless connection could be achieved at the hotel or anywhere else?

No wireless is available at CBR. If you go to the site in the link I sent you it will tell you what your options are at WDW. The only place that you could get wireless free on site is supposed to be the parking lot at the Wide World of Sports. I haven't tried it though.
