Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ's Part II

Put the request in your reservation (call Disney or your travel agent) in advance.

But first, ask yourself which is more important. Which do you want to guarantee, a water view or a preferred location? Reserve/pay for that one, and request the other one. ABSOLUTELY do it in advance.:)

As CleveRocks noted you need to decide which is more important. If you really want a preferred location then pay for a preferred location. Personally I would rather pay for a preferred location than a water view. Some of the water view rooms are very creative in how you see the water. It looks nice walking to your room but once you are in the room you usually close the drapes so you don't look like you are on exhibit.

There are four booking categories at CBR.
Standard
Water
King Bed
Preferred.

You can only pay for one and request the others.

Thank you so much! :)

Thanks for the mailbox info!!

All my family lives far away from me (the husband and I live in NC and the majority of our family lives in Michigan), so getting postcards out right away isn't going to matter as much.

I do want to get them out early, so they will be done *L*

No need to bump this thread. It is always in a sticky at the top of the resorts board along with other resort information. :)

Well, I am definitely booked for spring break '08!!! I booked for the longest I'd be off work, as you never know what kind of flights you can get. Funny thing is, with the new rates, my "new" price is cheaper than the quote on the old 2007 rates! Bonus :)

I posted a review of the CBR earlier but thought I would post some pictures since I finally downloaded them.

My husband has a few tee times at Disney Golf Courses. From what I've read, CBR will arrange "complementary" transportation. When do I need to arrange this? Will the taxi pick him up at our "island" or does he need to go to OPR or the customs house? Should he tip the driver or is that included too?

Thanks for any information!

Trinidad South is pretty secluded. Many like it because it feels like a private resort. All of the villages are close to parking.

Well, it's done! We're booked for CBR Oct.1-Oct.8 and I've requested a room at Trinidad South.
My DH keeps reminding me it's still 7 1/2 weeks away, but I reminded him it only seem like yesterday it was 7 1/2 MONTHS away!
Ya know, I don't recall having this much anticipation during pregnancy!:hourglass
Hmmm, I wonder if we'll get any of those cute ani-towels in my room!
Any way, thanks safteymom for the tip on Trinidad. I think we're gonna love it!

Thanks to this great thread, I know how the buses work at CBR. But, can anyone tell me how far back the CBR buses are when leaving the parks? (I remember POR/POFQ were always the last and farthest away when leaving the parks.)

Thanks.

At Epcot the CBR bus stop was #10. At the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, we were about half way down the bus stops. I think I remember being close to the front of the line at MGM. Sorry, I don't remember the exact numbers except for Epcot's.

I do know that Disney must change the stops periodically because in 2006, the bus stops were different that the ones in June, 2007 (with the exception of Epcot).

Speaking of bus stops... are they labelled well? I've read that sometimes they can be hard to find - is this true? THANKS!

I saw you post and we stayed at both CSR & CBR. We liked them both, but felt that CSR was more adult. It could be because of the business center and convention center at CSR, but we also felt there were more adults than kids at the place. The dining area was also more geared to adults, kinda self-serve/table service.

I don't think either is a bad choice, just different.

I completely agree with the above. We just got back from a great trip and loved CBR!

Sticky: WDW Resort FAQ and Information Threads just open that and the links for all the resort threads are there.

I (personally) think they are labeled pretty well and easy to find. When you leave the parks and walk towards the busses, there are big signs that tell you which stop is yours. Resort names are also labeled on each pavillion. The only one I am not sure about is Downtown Disney. I know the pavillions are labeled, but am not sure if there is a big sign. Hope it helps
