Should I schedule delivery for the day before or the day of arrival. We are having bottled water from Staples delivered.

Personally I would go for a day before because it might not be there when you check-in on your arrival day.

Hi fellow CBR goers! We are getting closer...I agree with the other posters that we just fell in love with the theming of this resort and cannot wait to get there. Just a few ????'s...

Someone mentioned music. Is there Carribbean themed music playing? If so, where? The pool, Custom House, food court? I just love those tin drums!

Do they provide towels in the pool areas or do you use your room towels or bring your own beach towels?

And where do you go to be able to see the fireworks at Epcot?

Thanks!

Old Port Royale the food court, main pool area have music playing. The main pool provides towels by the bathrooms, at the quiet pools you have to use your room towels.

The beach at Martinique is a great place to watch Illuminations. Lay back in a hammock or lounge chair and enjoy the show. If you want to see some of the lower fireworks stand outside the Custom House.

We used the main pool only once, but we used Trinidad North's quiet pool every day. I was the only one in my party who headed to OPR each morning. On my way back to the room each day, I grabbed an armful of pool towels from the main pool and took them back to the rooms for later. This way, we didn't have to bother housekeeping l;ater in the day to bring us more towels to shower with. :)

Thanks for the info. The grocery delivery site is wonderful! I won't need too much food since we are doing the dining plan but wanted to have bottled water and some extra snacks for the kids. Thanks!

Beth :sunny:

I'm arranging to have some groceries delivered to our room from garden grocers.

We are arriving on wed. 6/21. Our flight lands at MCO at 5:40 PM and we are taking DME to CBR. Hopefully we will be in our rooms by 7:00 PM.

Should I arrange for delivery on Wed. or wait until thurs? GG will deliver until 7:00 PM according to their website. There will be perishables (milk, juice, half & half, etc). Will Bell services keep perishables cold if delivery is early on wed? Sorry for all the last minute ?'s First time doing this, Staying on site with no rental.

Also, as I understand it, there is a 4 cup coffeemaker in the room. Is coffee complimentary? Is it any good? Will they replenish when supply runs out? DW and I are fussy about our AM coffee, so we're thinking about bringing our own.

Thanks,

Jerry

Yes they do have complimentary coffee packets in the room. They will replenish the supply if you run out. If you are picky about your coffee you might want to bring your own along. According to my mother it is ok, but she would rather have her Starbucks.

Thanks, Lisa. That's good to know.

Can someone please help me with another room request? we are looking forward to staying at CBR and to save money we have not requested a preferred room. It is important to us to be near a quiet pool, but after staying at CSR last year, it is also important for us to not have to walk for 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee..... Can you help me pick a building in Jamaica near the quiet pool?

Here is a link to the map Safetymom has posted on her web site. Looks like Jamaica 44 would put you close to the quiet pool, and not far from the bridge to Old Port Royale and the food court.

Keep in mind that Aruba and Jamaica are basically mirror-images of each other, so Aruba is just as close and convenient as Jamaica is. For some reason, poor little Aruba often gets left out of peoples' thoughts. :sad2:

Saving money is certainly something that's always on my mind, but if you are so concerned about the possibility of being too far from OPR for your taste, then consider spending the extra money on a preferred location room so that you are not disappointed or badly inconvenienced if your request is not granted.

What time does the food court open for breakfast? Should we be there right when it opens to avoid the rush, or is that the rush?

Food court hours are 6:30-11 PM. I would say if you are going to be there between 8-9 it will be real crowded. They do have lots of check out stands so your wait shouldn't be too bad. There is also the grab and go market where you could get something quickly.

I stayed in Jamaica with my family (5/00) then with my husband (9/05). He and I stayed at Aruba between those (8/02) and I personally liked Aruba the best. We were around the corner from the pool and the bus stop isn't as far away as Jamaica IMO. They both are great though. We walked around the whole lake and I would pick Trinidad North over Martinique. I personally like walking across the island.

We're going in August for a split stay at CSR and Swan. I hope I don't miss my CBR- I love it so!

When we were there in September they were doing some "landscaping" to the island and is was partly fenced off. Does anyone have any recent pics of how is looks now?

I just got back and didn't notice anything fenced off, and I crossed the island quite a bit. They did close off some paths in the evening.

My quick tip: the intuitive path is not likely to be the shortest path. After we found our "shortcuts", we didn't find it long to get anywhere. The kids loved the pool, and I never had a problem finding a lounge chair. We had a late dinner one night at the food court and sat outside watching Illuminations while the ducks patiently waited for the baby to drop food.

The food court was good, and I was able to get fresh fruit for the baby as my dessert or snack credit.

Some pics from this past week:

Try again!

I said "when we were there in September" it was fenced off. I should hope by now the new landscaping is done and maybe someone had pics of the "new" island.

Michy I love your pictures! CBR looks beautiful. I made a good choice. :yay:

I think I will request Jamaica 44. If i dont get it I won't be devastated. Saving Money is always on my mind, so I won't ask for preferred, I think it is more important for me to be near a quiet pool than near OPR. I just don't want to be in the romantic, quiet area, Trinidad something I forget.

As far as Aruba goes, I wasn't interested in that because I thought it was a smoking building... Is that true?

Hey Trissy,
I was there last September and I know what you are talking about. They had part of the center Island all fenced off with green tarps over the fence so one could not look in. On the last day of my stay there they took down the fence and it looked like they did plant some new things and spruce things up in there. Here are a couple pics I took with the fence down:

I went over to CBR tonight and took some pictures. I also have pictures when they had the tarps up. They took out a lot of the overgrown plants and planted new ones. They have speakers in the bushes now so it sounds like a band is playing on the island. I thought I was going to walk around the corner and see them.

I will post the pictures tomorrow.
