2.Can you walk along the shore and being up to like your ankles? or will they come shoo you away? pirate:

I have never done it, but I have seen people doing just that and never seen them being shooed (or if they have been shooed I have never seen it!).

Can anyone give me a corner room recommendation for Aruba near the village pool? (Standard room)

i had a really good stay at the cbr. mousekeeping was very nice, friendly and accomadating. on arrival there was a towel pet sitting in the window waiting, it was so cute. the room smelled like oranges and was very clean and welcomed us in. i stayed in my room with the privacy sign on the door one day as i had gotten to much sun the day before. mousekeeping left a nice bag of fresh towels and other sundries on the door knob. i was impressed at this thoughtfulness.

on arrival at about 1230pm i was surprised to find my room was ready. the front desk was very busy, but check in went smoothly and the lines moved very quickly.

the grounds were beautiful and clean, the staff everywhere friendly with a smile and a hello everyday.

the only negative was the food court. i found the selection very limited. i remember a few years ago the selection and variety being better.

this is not my favorite resort but i would stay again if nothing else was open.

We are coming over on the 6th September to stay at CBR. We have only been to WDW once before...being British and reading all the threads I think we are more reserve and never complain etc...maybe we should more!!. I cant wait to come over and stay at CBR my 2 sons age 6 & 8 cant wait its all they talk about!!
Only concern is where our room will be as we didnt get any option of paying extra for a 'preferred' room. Can I ask one question how busy are the parks in Septemeber compared to late july early august (this is when we came last time!!)

It probably will not be as busy but there still will be lots of people. Did you purchase a package through a travel agent? You probably still have the chance to purchase the preferred location. If you don't want to do that just have a request put in your reservation for a room in Jamaica or Aruba if you don't want to do a lot of walking. There is an internal bus if you don't like to do a lot of walking at CBR. Unless you are in Trinidad South I don't think the walk is bad.

You will have a great time at CBR. :)

We are considering staying at CBR for our annual July trip. We've only stayed at deluxes but in-laws are coming with us this trip (since we're a family of five we could put one of the kids in their room) and we had a bad experience with GF mouskeeping this year so DH is willing to try something new. We took a bus over to CBR this July trip and thought it looked great.

Now here is the main question. I would be willing to pay extra for the preferred room but wonder if they are close to food court and such are they too noisy? Would a water view room be a better way to spend the extra money? We are a family with small children (7, 6 and 5) going and in-laws who are in pretty good shape. I don't mind a short walk to things but know I wouldn't want to be too far away from refillable mugs, etc. What village (s) would you guys suggest. Also if you get a preferred room can you request a water view also, or is that just luck of the draw. Of course the ideal room would be a 2nd story, corner, water view preferred room. Anyone know how to get one of these? Thanks.

I wouldn't pay extra for the water view -- but I definitely WOULD pay extra for the preferred location. We did that, and ended up in Martinique 25, with a view of the lake. We were on the second floor, overlooking the Promenade sidewalk and the Martinique beach, and never found it to be noisy or busy at all. We were there in early April.
You'll love CBR.... we can't wait to go back! My DS 14 and DS11 loved the beaches, the pools, the hammocks, the boat rentals -- and the food court and game arcade. It was a vacation within a vacation!

My son has asked me to ask this question to anyone who haas recently been to CBR....What shooting games (if any) are in the arcade??
Talk about make me mad!!....We spend $6000 to come over for 2 weeks from the UK and hes just intrested in arcade games!!...typical!! :rotfl2:

DisneyMomx7 ,

I wouldn't pay extra for a waterview at CBR. I would take the extra money and spend it on a prefrerred location. The preferred locations at CBR are all of Trinidad North (Bldgs 31, 32, 33 ) and part of Martinique (Bldgs 24, 25, 26). I believe that getting a waterview in preferred is kinda a luck of the draw type of thing. You won't have to worry about the noise factor in the preferred locations from OPR (food court, shop, main pool, etc) the buildings are close, but not so close where the noise would be bothersome.

I'm leaning towards requesting Martinique - are any of the buildings better than the others? Thanks.

Martinique is a preferred village costing extra nightly. You could request it but chances are you won't get it.

Oh no, I meant I would pay for the "preferred village" I just wondered which building in Martinique I should request. I just think being closer to OPR will make it easier for us with the children and also my in-laws. In fact I'll be requested two connecting rooms so that I can put one of the kids in with my inlaws.

The preferred buildings at Martinique are very close to OPR so not much walking from any of them.

We had two rooms in Martinique 25 (June 25 through July 3). We were given a choice of ground or second floor, but with a stroller for our infant (kids are 9, 8, 5, and 7 months), we decided ground was better since there are no elevators. We really, really liked Martinique and CBR a great deal. We had only ever stayed deluxe on past trips (Contemp, WL, and Poly Concierge), and we were all so surprised at how much we loved CBR.

We were in Martinique 25 and it was a very short walk. However, I dont' think you can go wrong with any of the Martinique builsings. Next time we're back, we'll pay for the preferred location and will request Bldg 25, but we'll be happy no matter what!

98 days to CBR and hope to get Trinidad North building 32. :wizard: However, whatever building I get, I am sure I will be happy with. ;)
