Calling all CBR experts! We will be staying there from 9/28 to 10/6 for our Disneymoon, any romantic suggestions??? We have stayed there before, the last being July of 2004. It was sooooo romantic, the beaches, hammacks, caribbean theming, etc.. We had such a fantastic time there. We debated for months over where to stay, but we always kept comming back to the CBR. We are sooooo excited to celebrate our honeymoon there! I really would appreciate any suggestions!!!!!
Would also love to hear from those who have honeymooned there! :Pinkbounc

I was just wondering if there are ajoining rooms at the resort? we booked two rooms. another question, do we just request rooms beside one another if there are no ajoining rooms? any help you can give is greatly appreciated and if you already listed this somewhere else in this thread sorry.... it was 22 pages long and i didn't really wanna read them all.... thanks

Yes, CBR does have ajoining rooms (rooms next to each other) and they do also have connecting rooms (rooms with a dooe in between).

Well, I've been putting off posting to this thread for a while now. I've been reading through all of the CBR posts, and I finally feel a little better about staying at this resort. I'm VERY sad that I am not staying at the WL as originally planned this year, but I'm honestly working to build a positive attitude about CBR. I've provided the details of our reservation, and have asked some questions. The questions are in bold for those who want to skim. ;)

I have a AAA MYW plus dining package booked for $4011.96 during value season, which includes 2 standard rooms for 7 nights, 4 adults and 1 child on the dining plan for 7 nights, 2 adult 6-day park hopper passes, and 2 adult & 1 child 6-day premium passes (all expire 14 days after 1st use). We'll be driving, so the size of the resort and distance from parks/DTD will not be a problem (in case the buses are not efficient during this time.) My requests are non-smoking, 1st floor, connecting rooms in Jamaica bldg #45.

Do you think we'll have noise problems being on the 1st floor (flushing toilets, walking/running overhead type noises)?

We like for each adult in our party to have their own bed while on vacation, so we will bring my 9-year-old's twin-size AeroBed. At this time, I do not have the frame to raise it from the level of the floor, but if there's no room for this, I don't see why I should invest in it. Does anyone know if we'll have room for a twin-sized AeroBed and frame? I plan to put the bed away during the day in effort to avoid possible punctures.

Also, about the beds -- my father is VERY picky! I read one post where the only negative comment about the room was the condition of the mattresses (a sway toward the middle). I know my father well, and this type of problem (a sway or a mattress that is too soft) will not fly. Who do you call to fix a mattress problem? Maintenance or housekeeping? Do you think they'll do what they can to make him happy, such as exchange the mattress if necessary?

TIA, guys!! :sunny:

Did you mean to post on the Coronado Springs thread or did you accidently type CSR instead of CBR? Just wanted to make sure you posted on the correct thread before you had your questions answered.

Whoa! Thanks for the heads up, cody's mom! I not only typed the wrong acronym, but I did it TWICE! lol :earboy2: I'll go edit my post right now!

I definitely should have typed CBR! :goodvibes

Here are a few questions for the CBR experts. We are going in October- our first time to WDW! I have looked at the map from Safetymom's first post, but I can't figure out where you park if you are driving. Is there just one parking lot near the main building (name escapes me now), or is there parking for each village? Also, can you request a specific village before you check in through the TA, or do you have to wait until check in. My last question- are there towels at each of the pools, or just the mail pool. Thanks for all of the help- October can't come soon enough!

Lynn

There are parking lots for each village so you are never far from your car at CBR. Yes you can make a request with your travel agent about location, etc. You can also ask again at check in. Trinidad North and Martinique Villages are preferred locations costing extra nightly.

Towels are provided at the main pool but not the quiet pools. Just call housekeeping and have them bring you extra towels that you can use.

I just want to add some personal reassurance about CBR. We joined the DVC last year after our stay at CBR and planned a trip for May 1-7 at BWVs. I have to say that BWVs did not impress me, especially for it being a deluxe, home away from home! Don't get me wrong, or flame me, but I really missed CBR's theming with the laid back atmosphere, the food court, and numerous pools. I know there has been talk about having to walk so far at CBR but let me tell you that there are some rooms at BWV's that are a hike to even get to a bus stop! I don't want to appear to be completely bashing the BWV's because there were some things we liked such as the Luna Park pool and the walk to MGM and EPCOT but I prefer CBR.

DH felt the same way so our next trip we are taking my in-laws and staying at CBR. It may not be the best use of our points but we will try other places in the future. We just feel comfortable taking our family someplace we know they'll enjoy. I think CBR is a great value!

Happy planning! :sunny:

We've been back from CBR for two months, and I just recalled a small but significant incident that occurred a couple days into our stay. I took my DS14 and DS11 with me, along with a 13-year-old friend... as we were walking out our door to go to the parks, the friend's glasses broke -- a screw came out, and thankfully he found the screw. By the way, he can't see without them! It was late afternoon, and I called the main desk of the resort and explained what had happened, wondering if we came down there if they would have a small screwdriver we could borrow. The very friendly CM told me she'd have somebody up to our room soon. About 2 minutes later (seriously), there was a knock on the door and 2 CM's announced they were from "Engineering" and pulled out a tiny screwdriver, fixed the glasses, and joked with us about how they each had a screw loose too! With that, we were on our way off to the parks!

I know it's a small thing, but honestly, it really was a big deal at the time! They were so quick to respond, so polite and friendly, and we were very grateful. I've got about 15 photos of CBR I'll post if I can figure out how to, but our entire visit there was wonderful, and my two DS's insist that CBR is where we will stay next time as well!

Is there a particular schedule for buses (with times) or do they just run as they run and you need to hope you don't get there as soon as one departs?

They run about every 15 to 20 min, 45 min before the parks open to about 1 hr after the park closes. As Safetymom said they do dispatch more buses as needed.

I just returned from my first stay at Caribbean Beach Resort. I love this resort. We arrived at 10:30 a.m. and our room was ready. Check-in took about 5 minutes. We were in room 3121 in Trinidad North, first floor. We had a nice courtyard with tables and umbrellas right outside our door where we could relax in the evening and recap our day and plan the next. The food court and big pool were just a few minutes walk away as was the quiet pool for Trinidad North.

We only ate in the food court twice but the food was good both times. Great fries! We had pizza delivered to our room (available after 4:00 p.m.). Deliver took about 20 minutes and it was good.

The resort is very relaxing and a trip around the lake is just the right length. Not so long that you get tired and not so short that you don't feel like you got exercise.

We will definetly stay at CBR again. The only complaint we had was with the water pressure in the shower but that is usually a problem at any hotel you stay at.

The last time we were at CBR was 2003 and our T-Mobile cell phone did not work. I was wondering if anyone has stayed recently at CBR and their T-Mobile worked, if not, I need to go purchase some phone cards. We'red leaving June 22nd thru June 30th - and for the fourth time staying at our favorite resort, CBR. Thanks for your help!

How much are the water activities? Boats, etc.? Is it worth it to request a room or just take our chances?

If you look at the first page of the CBR FAQ II thread the price for all the different size boats is listed.

Many folks like Jamaica for their location. When you get there the only location you might want to think about is Trinidad South. It is far away from the main pool and food court. Some folks though really like it because it is like its own resort because it is secluded.

When we leave the resort on our last day, we will be going back out to the parks. (Plane leaves at 10:50pm) Do I have to wait for bell service to come pick up our things before leaving to keep them at custom house or can I call and just leave the things in the room to be taken? I have never used this service before anywhere so I don't know. What I DO know is that DD6 and I will not be able to lug it all from our room alone. :) Is the tip usually $1 per piece of luggage with bellservice? Thanks!

You can call Bell Services the night before to arrange a pick-up time for your bags. You are supposed to remain in your room till the bell man comes around to pick-up your stuff. $1 per bag is about the avarge rate.
