Trinidad building # 31 you pay extra for. :confused3 She asked if I wanted "water view" and I said no. So, I assume I am not paying extra, the price is about right for "standard" room. ;) 97 more days to GO! :Pinkbounc

We are going to be making a couple short long weekend trips during the next few months. My DM really likes the looks of the photos from CBR and though we once booked it we have always changed ressies and booked elsewhere.

We have stayed at POFQ, AKL, and WL is CBR anything like the ones that I have mentioned? Pluses/minuses to this resort?

Thanks for any info!

Trinidad North 31,32,33 are the preferred buildings costing extra nightly. Water view and preferred location are two different things. Both cost extra.

Minnie, I haven't stayed at the other resorts you have mentioned. CBR is a great resort to relax at. Every village has a quiet pool and laundry. You have the lake for boating or just watching people on the water. Lots to see and do at CBR.

We've stayed at WL and AKL, as well as CBR, but not POFQ. WL and AKL and CBR are all very different, but we love all 3 -- CBR is probably our favorite, to be honest. I have a DS14 and DS11 and they love the beach and hammocks and atmosphere. WL has the beach, but it's not as nice a beach as you find at CBR. WL's atmosphere is incredible, as is AKL. The walk from a preferred room to the food court at CBR is similar to the walk from some of the rooms at WL and AKL to their snack bar, farther than others.

I guess the biggest difference is size of rooms and interior/exterior entrances to rooms. Plus, of course, the price. We loved CBR though!

Yes, I know, the CM asked if I wanted "preferred location" and I said no, knowing it was extra. She than asked if I wanted "standard/waterview/garden view" and I said standard. After she put everything in the system, she asked if I had any questions, I asked if I could "request a particular building" she said "no problem" and that was when I "requested" Trinidad North 32. She said she would note it in the ressie, but its NOT guranteed!. :confused3 She said Nothing about the building being extra $$!

She can put it down as a request but chances are unless the resort is pretty empty you won't get it.

Has anyone stayed at CBR for a week on a room only reservation and not going to the parks? I am planning on a 2007 cruise but would like to stay at the CBR for a week prior to the cruise for some rest and relaxtion...If you did this...did you enjoy your time? I was just there in June and we loved it!!!

I would be willing to pay extra for the preferred room but wonder if they are close to food court and such are they too noisy? Would a water view room be a better way to spend the extra money? We are a family with small children (7, 6 and 5) going and in-laws who are in pretty good shape. I don't mind a short walk to things but know I wouldn't want to be too far away from refillable mugs, etc. What village (s) would you guys suggest. Also if you get a preferred room can you request a water view also, or is that just luck of the draw. Of course the ideal room would be a 2nd story, corner, water view preferred room. Anyone know how to get one of these? Thanks.
As someone else posted, OPR is far enough away from even the CLOSEST preferred rooms that I can't imagine there are any rooms with noise problems.

As far as requesting a water view in a preferred location: I can only tell you my experience on the website and a subsequent phone call to CRO. On the website, there are buttons to click on for preferred location and for water-view, but it won't let you click on both. I then called CRO and the CM told me, in effect, you can pay $15 extra per night for preferred location (Trinidad North, and Martinique 24-25-26), or you can pay $15 extra per night for water-view, but you can't pay $30 extra for both. The CM advised me to choose which of those two options was more important to me and to pay for that one and hope I get lucky with the other one. I guess that means the people who get water-view rooms in the preferred locations got blindly lucky and/or got lucky that their request (for a water-view room) was granted.

I agree with almost everyone else that a water-view room at CBR isn't worth paying for. For one, the water you have a view of may actually be one of the quiet pools and not the lake! Also, you may not prefer to have your curtains open to enjoy the water view because your window (or windows, if you're in a corner room) open directly to the outdoor corridor (just as your room door does), so in between you and your water view are any people passing by, who of course now have a full view of the inside of your room. Just a thought ....

My family and I just stayed there in July... our only complaint was that we were not there longer. I would have loved to just hang around the resort for days!! It is beautiful and peaceful. There are plenty of winding pathways tucked in through the fantastic landscaping. The main pool was usually bustling so for "quieter" moments we would tuck ourselves into a quiet pool for an hour or so. The food court had a nice range of choices... Shutters was wonderful...We were there for 10 days and I feel as though I could have spent the whole time there. :goodvibes

We are staying at CBR during value season, but it's also Labor Day weekend. I booked a preferred room, but I wondered if I should change my reservation to a standard room and request the Jamaica building to save $. Do they generally honor requests? What are your experiences?

Posting a LOT later than you did, but we changed our dates last week, and we'll be there at the same time! Have a great trip!

I was just wondering when I was looking at the pictures of the rooms at CBR - the bench I've seen under the coat rack - does it open up for storage or is it just decorative? ALso, are there 6 or 8 drawers in the entertainment center? THanks.

There is a very large drawer under the bench. In the entertainment center there are actually 5 drawers...3 large ones on the bottom (though it looks like 6 from the outside ) and 2 tucked under the TV. In June/July 2005 we traveled as a party of 7...mom, dad, ds9, ds8, d5, dd 6 months, and grandma to CBR, and we had 2 rooms. Our older 3 kids wanted to bunk in with grandma many nights, but I wanted all of the stuff with us so I could keep it organized (I hate being delayed in departure because someone can't find something). The rooms at CBR are so generous for storage that I was able to easily store all items needed for 4 kids and parents, and keep in mind one was an infant and you know how much stuff that entails. And a really nice feature is that the luggage all fit under the beds! I had been worried coming from only deluze stays about no closet, but I actually found I preferred no closet..kinda funny :-) HTH!

Thanks for all the info. First cruise coming up Dec 05 and we're staying at CBR the day before and attending the mvmcp. First time for us at WDW.

Thansk so much. It sounds as if we'll have as much drawer space as the deluxes (used to GF) and at the GF we couldn't fit the luggage under the bed.

Hello! My family will be going to WDW for the 1st time! Out of all the resorts, my Dd chose the CBR because of its location. I can not tell from any of the maps why we can not walk to Epcot or MGM. Is it simply because their has never been a safe walkway built? Or is the distance farther than I think from the CBR to Epcot and MGM? Thank you, :earsboy: :earsgirl: princess:
