New pictures of CBR up on website
I finally got the chance yesterday to take some more pictures of CBR. They are on my website listed below. I am still labeling the photos so check back for updates.

Even though I only live 15 mins. away I still love the look and feel of CBR. I feel like I have escaped to the islands when I go to CBR.

I've read through lots of these pages (but can't get to them all, unfortunately)....and am thinking of switching to CBR from PC if the FLA rates are good. I am assuming that each area has its standard and preferred view rooms. After reading the posts here, I was going to request a room first in Trinidad North 31, second in Aruba 51 and then Jamaica 45. I need connecting rooms and my step-mom is a smoker. I do not want to spend the extra money on a preferred room....are any of these buildings preferred? Also, I know that Jamaica 45 does not have designated smoking rooms, however; can she smoke outside her room with no problems? Or is that a no-no? (we had non smoking rooms at ASsports last year and that's what she did with no problem...just wondering about it at CBR). Great thread! Great pics!! Thanks!!

Thanks so much for youre new pics of CBR. They are GREAT!
I wish I was there right now, instead of looking at snow.
Oh well June will come soon enough and Ill be sad because Ill be home already and waiting another year until I can get to WDW again:rolleyes:
I hope you are enjoying you new home!
Thanks again for taking the time to go and take new pictures for our neverending Disney addiction.

Crazy4mandms, Trinidad North 31 is a preferred location. Not sure about the smoking issue.

I don't know if this has been asked before and if it has I appologize. I was going through my arrival day figuring if there was anything I missed and a question popped up.

How does the luggage situation work at CBR. We will be doing a short grocery stop on the way in for several things including a case or two of bottled water. Also, I will be traveling with a small lunch-sized cooler carrying my meds. So can someone please tell me how it will work...#1 if our room is NOT ready...#2 if our room is ready. Does someone transfer the luggage to our room either way? What happens to my groceries and most importantly my meds if the room isn't ready and we want to head to the parks? (PS, taking my meds to the park is not an option.)

Lastly, has anyone returned recently and seen if the water cannons are working yet!!! Single digits...wooo-hooo!!!

Water cannons were not working when I visited CBR yesterday.

I would call and ask CBR if they have any way to keep your items cold if your room is not ready. I am sure they have some way to keep your meds cold.

Was it last year that the CBR renovations were done? I'm trying to decide on which section I want to stay in and I'm wondering if anyone knows if ALL of CBR has been renovated or if it was only certain sections. That will definitely be something that I will take into consideration.

Thanx!

The whole resort has been finished. You just need to decide where you want to be. Close to the food court area, away from it all. You can't go wrong with any part of the resort.

As the other poster mentioned CBR was totally refurbished. There isn't a bad room in the place. :)

Not only are the rooms non-smoking, the entire BUILDING is non-smoking. To me, that would include the walkways right outside the guest rooms.

Last year, we were in Martinique 25, which is non-smoking, but one night our neighbors had smoking guests. They say on the walkway outside the room and we had to walk through their cloud of smoke on the way to our room. Our daughter has asthma that is triggered by smoke and we have to be very careful to keep her away from designated smoking areas wherever we go so, for us, this was a real problem.
I know this is more than you asked to hear, but I just wanted to you to see how it can effect other guests.

If no one complains the she'll most likely have no problem smoking outside the room, but another guest (like me ;) ) may report it to the front desk if it causes problems for them or their family.

Have a great day!:wave2:

Hopefully this will be of help -

One of the first messages I posted a few weeks ago in another area of Disboards was about whether to bother hiring a refridgerator or not.

Apparently there are ice machines on every floor of all the buildings and it's just as good collecting ice to keep in your room to keep things cool. This will not cost you anything.

But, I would like some of you experienced CBR visitors to confirm this please. I have never even been to Florida before!

Many thanks.

That is correct. There are ice machines all over CBR. We always have a cooler in our room at CBR and it works great for keeping things cold.

We just booked our vacation at CBR for June 28- July 3. We have stayed at many resorts at WDW but this is our fist time for CBR. We have a king room for our 5 year anniversary trip. Anything I should know to ask for or to look for? What are some not miss things at this resort? Also, what is transportation like from this resort? Is there a boat to Epcot?

Thanks a million!

Please someone correct me if I am wrong, but I have read there is only bus transport around CBR and to the various Disney locations. This is ok (obviously), but if you are hoping for monorail or boat - you will have to find them elsewhere outside of CBR.

I have also understood that CBR is one of the largest resort areas and you can use the bus service to get from your building to the other buildings on the CBR site.

All the rooms are accessible via outside corridors, which is intesting - this is not something us in the UK are used to! Does anyone know if this applies to all the rooms in all the buildings at CBR? And whereabouts are the ice machines situated in each building? Are they along the outside corridoors?

Yes CBR is very large! But, as you stated, there is an internal bus system if anything is too far for you to walk. Actually, unless you are in Trinidad South, the walk is not bad to Old Port Royale or the main pool. Plus, each island has its own pool and bus stop.

All rooms have exterior corridors, in fact all the value and moderate resorts have this feature. We actually prefer it this way, as you don't hear other guests slamming doors all night, as you sometimes do with interior corridors.

I have a map up on my web site that has the locations for everything at CBR.

I also like the outside corridors at CBR. You get to enjoy the view the minute you walk outside your room.

Thanks for the personal touch. I've enjoyed all of your Q&A, now for another....baseball tickets. I'm taking my 10 year old grandson the 21st and want to surprise him with tickets to a game. His favorite team, the Yankees are further away than I want to drive:( ..so it looks like WDW Stadium. Any suggestions for getting tickets without dealing with scalpers online?

Again thanks for the great info:bounce:

I would really welcome some advice about the carribbean beach. we are coming from abroad to florida for 2 weeks for the first time and i have selected this hotel because it sounded the best option for children.

I am now concerned about the reviews I have seen complaining about the distance from the pools/ restaurant and amount of walking.

I can't seem to find a map of the hotel grounds either. where is the best place to stay to limit walking of tired young feet?

do you know where i could see a map of the resort? any other strategies.

thanks for your help::yes::

I have a map of the resort up on my website listed below. Many people don't have a problem with the distances at CBR. Trinidad North and Martinique are the closest but cost extra.
