couple of questions

how far a walk are the jamaica buildings from the OPR?
how close to the buildings is the parking lot?

It depends on how fast you walk but no more than 5-10 mins to the food court. It is a beautiful walk and you lose track of the world as you walk across the island.

All of the villages have parking so you are never far from a parking lot. Also the landscaping is very lush and beautiful so even if you have a view of the parking lot you have a hard time seeing the cars. It is not a long walk from the lot to your room.

::MinnieMo have reserved a water view but how soon or can I request a room in a certain area. The reason for going to CBR is cause the boys want to go to Jamaica so the next best thing is Jamaica at DW, lol. Any other suggestions. Thanks in advance::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo ::MickeyMo

You can call CRO at any time to have your requests placed in your reservation. They are very good at granting requests from your reservation. When you check in you can also make any requests you may have.

Is there a certain reason you have requested a water view? In my opinion a water view at CBR is a waste of money. Since you don't have personal balconies it is hard from most rooms to even see the water.

hows the food? is it reasonably good? we were at the all star movies last year and the food was quite good altho quite pricey (expecting that lol) so is the food at cbr good? and i know someone had mentioned that you can see the fireworks from one of the beaches, i'm directionally challenged so if i ask a CM will they know where to point me?

The food at CBR is not bad. It is typical fast food fare. You need to sit on the beach at Martinique. Turn right going out of OPR at the end of the building on the left you will see a beach.

If you can see the Epcot "ball" you will have a good view of the fireworks. You will see the Epcot logo lit up. When it goes out you know the fireworks are about to start.

Can someone please tell me if they have ice machines at the CBR? I'm looking at buying a styrofoam cooler at our grocery stop and filling it with some goodies for our stay but I want to make sure I'll be able to keep refilling the ice once a day.

Also, anyone recently at CBR that can tell me if the water cannons are back on and working?

Thanks!!

Myself, my DS and my sister will be staying at CBR next month, I was wondering how is the lighting around the resort at night. We requested Jamaica. I figure when my DS goes to sleep at night, my sister will probably head over to the gift shop or food court. Is it safe for her to walk around alone at night?

Yes, there are ice machines at CBR. We used a styrofoam cooler and it worked out great.

MNT568-I would feel perfectly safe walking around the resort alone at night.

We did most of our resort exploring at night, since we spent all of our days in the parks, and never felt uneasy about it. The lighting seemed fine to me. My kids would walk to the beach or to OPR after dark and there were always plenty of other guests doing the same.

Can our towncar service pick us up at our room rather than meeting us at the Customs House? Is there a rule prohibiting this?
We loved our stay last April at CBR and everything went very smoothly exept when it came time to leave. We had arranged the day before to have bell services pick up our bags and then we were going to have lunch and meet our luggage and the towncar at the Customs House. Bell services was over an hour late in picking up our luggage. We barely had time to gulp down some lunch and then we had a hard time finding a bus that was stopping at the Customs House. We barely made it in time.

This trip we have to meet our driver at 8:00 a.m. and I don't want any problems making it in time. Any suggestions?

Thank you!

I don't believe they can pick you up anywhere but the Customs House. Perhaps someone else knows for sure.

Thanks Jody!! Can you tell me where you got yours? I'm hoping that one of the grocery stores on the ride from MCO to CBR has them since we'll be using a towncar service. Thanks again!! :D

We used Tiffany Towncar last May and were able to have the driver pick us up at Jamaica. He could not come all the way to our room, but he parked at the circular driveway nearest our room, and we met him there.

All we did was call Tiffany Towncar the day before they were to pick us up and let them know exactly which section we were staying in (Jamaica) and the room number, so he could park in the area nearest there. It was no problem at all. All we had to do was get our luggage from our room to the parking area, but that was not difficult. It's much easier and faster than trying to have bell services pick up your luggage by a certain time, etc. I think we might also have given them our cell phone number in case he couldn't find us.

Thank you Chris 44! That's great, I wish the towncar service would've suggested that when they dropped us off, this time I'll
know to ask. It will make things much easier.

Luckymommyx2-We got our cooler at a grocery store, I don't know the name of it, our towncar service stopped about halfway between the airport and WDW. I'm sure all the grocery stores have them. Just and idea-bring ziplock bags to put your ice in. We cracked the styrofoam cooler about halfway throug the week and the ice melted more quickly. Everything still stayed cold, but there was always water in the cooler.

Thanks again Jody! I figured most, if not all the grocery stores would have the styrofoam coolers but I wanted to make sure. The zip lock baggies is a good idea. I usually take a whole box whenever we go on vacation because they are useful for so many things. Now back to planning....:D

Hi - I just got back from staying at CBR and loved it!!! Jamaica is lovely. You might want to ask for a room in Jamaica close to Parrot Cay. That's the bridge that crosses over to Food Court in Centertowne - Olde Port Royale and the main pool. It looked to me to be about a 7 minute walk through really nice vegetation. Lots of very tall Bamboo. I stayed in Martinique and absolutely adored it. I definitely second that you plan to go and kick back on one of the white beaches. It's wonderful. Enjoy your stay!!! Ely

Elysiannn- I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay at CBR. I loved the resort.
