Safetymom,
You say Trinidad and Matinique will be preferred in Jan. What about now? I am going Oct 26 and getting ready to send in my room preference, and would like to stay in Jamaica or Martinique.
Thanks,

You won't have to pay extra for Martinique till Jan. You will have a great time at CBR.

I will BE THERE in 20 Days!!!:bounce: Full report when I get back, as its my FIRST time Staying there!::yes::

4mousekateers, can you email and share the details of this email offer? thanks!

We've decided that since we'll be on vacation for 15 days, it'll be easier to do laundry than pack for our whole trip. Plus with less clothes we can pack more for different kinds of weather we may encounter in January and for our 4-night cruise.

So . . . here are my questions:

What are the prices per load for washer?

What are the prices per load for dryer?

True or false - It takes two cycles to actually dry your clothes.

What kind of detergent do they have?

How much does the detergent cost?

Do they have dryer sheets?

Thanks,

it'll be easier to do laundry than pack for our whole trip.
Absolutely!

A wash costs $2
Dry...$2....I'v never had to send it for 2 cycles. it takes about 35 - 40 minutes for one cycle and everything was fine.
Soap...I think $1...not sure. We bring our own. You can get those single use tabs of Tide (other brands too). Very convinient.
Pretty sure they have dryer sheets. But I suggest bring those too. they are so small you can fit them in a small zip lock bag.

We usually will do 2 -3 loads all at the same time while at the pool. Takes about hour and a half and then you are set to go.

We brought our own stuff also it was much easier and it doesn't take up much room when packing(had the Tide tabs)We also did laundry when we were at the pool BUT at our building(I was in Barbados)it did take 2 and sometimes 3 turns in the dryer to get our stuff dry. Our friends did two turns with their stuff and then gave up and just took their stuff back to the room slightly damp(they started washing at like11pm so it was LAATE LOL) If you bring your own defintely do the Tide tabs, you can get the small box of dryer sheets for like $2 at Walmart and consider bringing a Clorox Bleach Pen, really really gets the stains out and takes up NO ROOM! I used a Shout Stick and it really wasn't good on getting the stains out.pirate:

Does the CBR offer laundry service drop off? If so, do you know how much it is?

Hi, i'm staying atthe CBR in a few days for he first time. I am going to fax thru a request. What are the pros and cons of each island?

thanks:D

safetymom, or anyone who knows,
Can a child go on the slide at this resort with a life vest on? she does not know how to swim yet, but she wants to go on the slide.
Also do they have vests there to rent?

TimeWarp, I don't remember seeing anything about laundry drop off but I can check next week when I am there if someone else doesn't answer.

stal, I suggest you read the FAQ thread. Many people have commented on the pros and cons of each village. All of them are great except Trinidad South which is a long walk to the food court. We have always had great luck with requests at check in. I think they are getting swamped with faxes so I wouldn't worry about doing one.

Dalpal, I wouldn't think there would be a problem wearing a life vest going down the slide. I am not 100% sure about them having them at the pool but I am pretty sure they are available for use. I can check next week on your question when I am at CBR.

My grandson used a vest on the slide (he had a ball!). They're available at the boat rental dock (can be rented for length of stay I believe).

Glad to see you will be returning to CBR before I go on 11-22. I look forward to reading your reports when you return.

I have been reading some posts lately that the CBR buses are slow. How long can I expect to be on a bus to the MK? Also, do they have Pepsi or Coke at the food court?

It is Coke products. I suggest you read the last several pages of the FAQ to read recent trip reports and transportation times. I know there are some recent ones that mention this.

So much depends on the crowds, the time of year, etc.

I would say that most people don't have a problem with the busses at CBR.

Hello... just back tonight from a week at CBR and reading over the posts.

First.... Beth, I checked on the beer question and found an odd thing. There *is* ODouls at Port Royale food court. It is at all of the food counters that sell alcohol, for $3.50/can. The odd thing is that in the gift store, in the back left corner, they have beer for $1.75/can, but ODouls is *not* there. Bummer. Anyway, if arriving late and wanting ODouls, definitely can be found at CBR foodcourt. (Which is open until 11pm.)

Laundry: Had absolutely no problem with the dryers at Martinique. Perhaps it does vary island to island. Only one cycle had my clothes perfectly dry. Doing laundry was a big help down there. We brought our soap, so I didn't notice what they had. I saw lots of folks with full laundry bags on their room doors, so I'm quite sure there is a laundry service.

Buses: We had no problem with the buses, except for the usual curse that I personally carry... wherever we are going, THAT will be the last bus to show up. pirate: However, I think that is just a "me" thing. Anyway, the Magic Kingdom bus is definitely the longest drive of the four parks... I would put it at about 15 minutes though I never actually timed it. Epcot is of course *very* short, and MGM not much longer. Animal Kingdom was very quick too. We never had to wait too long for any one bus. I think one of the reasons people might think the buses are problematic at CBR is because each bus stops at each island on each trip. But really, this doesn't add that much time to the overall trip.

We stayed in Martinique this time. (Aruba last time.) While I honestly do not remember minding the walk to Port Royale from Aruba, I must say it was GREAT being in Martinique 25!! We were so close to both Port Royale and the Martinique quiet pool!

I liked the way they've redone the food court, with a central check out. Getting and paying for food seemed to go much faster, no matter how crowded the food court was.

Had an excellent trip. Hope to do a trip report soon!

cheers,
savvyjack

I am glad that I found this site on the web. I went and read ALL the posts.

My family is making 1st trip to WDW in November.

Unfortunately they are not taking me :( My first time will have to wait. It will just be mom, dad and one of my brothers.

My brother wants to stay in a resort near Epcot.

My dad does not want to spend a lot of money on a hotel since the plan is to spend most of the time in the parks.

Since this is the cheapest resort in Epcot area I will try to convince them to stay here.

I was originally considering CSR but this one sounds more like their taste. They want some place quiet. There seems to be a lot of quiet placer in CBR too.

Any CBR discounts happening in November?

Savvyjack, thanks so much for checking on my strange o'Douls question! DH likes the taste of beer, but doesn't want the alcohol...he'll be a happy camper to know he can get his drink of choice (the price might throw him for a loop, though ;) ) 16 days and we'll be there!!

Beth

Hi I'm a sprint user and I was wondering if anyone had problems using their cell phone in CBR? I read on someones trip report that they had trouble using their cell phone from their room (didn't work at all!).

Thanks!!!:(

I had reception in my room at CBR. I don't have Sprint though. Reception was better outside though. When I stayed at CSR I had no reception in the rooms and neither did others that had cell phones with other providers.
