Thanks for the helpful, informative thread, safetymom. And thanks too for the pictures, hulabird and safetymom.

I've never stayed onsite before, and I'm seriously considering staying at a couple onsite resorts in late 2004. At first I'd thought that if I ever stayed at a moderate, I'd want to try POR. However, I thought they may be refurbishing or close to around that time, so I began looking at CBR. The more I "look," the more I'm thinking I'd prefer it for part of this upcoming trip.
Having said that...it's been awhile since I've looked through your pictures safetymom, and I can't recall...do you (or anyone reading

) have some pictures of Trinidad South? I'm interested in knowing the color scheme of that particular village. Is it pretty and "easy" on the eyes? Is it as beautifully landscaped as the more "popular" villages? It seems that many here prefer to stay anywhere in CBR but Trinidad South, saying it is just too isolated from the rest of the resort and too long of a walk. However, it will be just my spouse and I, and I would actually prefer to not be in the center of everything. And since special requests are just that: requests, and not guaranteed, what would be a good "second choice" for a couple wanting a "quieter", i.e. more "away from the busyness" location???
Also, I've read that rates are increasing at CBR for "preferred location." If I decide to book the CBR, I will want to pay the additional $$$ for a King. I was curious if one wanted a King in a preferred location, if there would be an additional charge for each of those options, or if a person paying for a King (since as I've read here they are scattered throughout the resort)
might (and I stress,
might) get placed in a preferred village based on the King reservation alone? Jus' wonderin'.
Oh, and one more question for now: Are there some pretty, "private" places to sit and just chat/enjoy? Any hammocks and beach areas and quiet pools that seem to be frequented less than the others? We like people (including kids of all ages

) fine

; the reason I'm asking is that we'll be celebrating an anniversary among other things, and I would want to be able to just relax and enjoying "soaking in" the resort with my spouse a bit.
Thanks,
flaps

Glad to hear this, as I would likely want an ironing board in the room.
