Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ

I don't have pictures of Trinidad South just because I didn't walk down to that village.

I think all the villages are easy on the eyes. I think most of the beach areas are pretty quiet except for the playground areas. If you look at the map on my web site you can see where those are located. You will have a great time no matter where you stay in CBR. I don't think it is noisy at all anywhere in CBR. It is a great place to celebrate an anniversary. The Beach at Martinique is nice for the Epcot fireworks nightly at 9 PM. You can see the fireworks and hear the music. Very romantic.

Thanks. :) That's okay; I did a search later yesterday and was able to find some pictures of Trinidad South.

And thanks for the tip about the Martinique beach. All in all, from the various pictures I've come across, it seems the CBR is a lovely, colorful resort. :sunny:

If all goes as planned, our stay will be split up between FW, CBR, an offsite vacation home with a tropical theme and the Poly. I'm very excited about the possibility of staying on property, having only ever stayed at an offsite campground and Econo-Lodge in the past. :)

We are deciding where to stay at our upcoming trip the week after Thanksgiving. We can stay and CBR or CS. Any opinions on which is better?

I have never stayed at CS, so I can't compare. However, we love CBR. The rooms are very colorful and we liked the layout of the rooms. We like Trinidad North, which is just past OPR. The grounds are very pretty and we like the mile walk around the whole resort. The food court was just right for us, so we were quite happy with that too! Can't wait to go back!:Pinkbounc

Off the wall CBR question.......
My husbands favorite thing to drink is O'Douls non-alcoholic beer. I know we've have gotten it at the store at the Poly, but does any one know if it's for sale at the store at CBR? We won't have a car, and are flying in fairly late on a Friday night, and I don't want to make a grocery stop just for "fake beer". Any one know? (I know he can't be the only one who drinks this stuff...it sells out pretty fast at the grocery stores around here.)

I tried posting this in the general resorts forum with no luck. I'm hoping someone with CBR experience can answer (or maybe check for me if you have a trip coming up soon)

thanks
Beth

We just booked a Christmas trip to CBR, after receiving an email offering what I consider a fantastic rate of $79/night. This will be our 3rd trip to CBR and we've never stayed there for under $100/night. This will be our first Christmas trip; we have been there for New Years and other winter trips. The weather has been anywhere from highs in the 70's to an awfully cold record low of 28 one morning. The kids (ages 7 & 4) just want to make sure Santa can find us - they are really excited about the trip! So am I!

Beth,

I'm going to CBR in a week, for a week. I'll check on the O'Douls at the CBR store and repost when I get home.

cheers,
savvyjack
Six days and counting!

Thanks, savvyjack! Have a great trip! I'll be watching for your report when you get back home.

I just made a reservation at CBR. Was told they don't have the AAA discount room I requested, and the only rooms left for that night are King rooms and rooms with water views. I booked a water view room, but was wondering what that really means...is it as nice as it sounds?

Many thanks

goodfaerie

Is there any way for someone else to get the $79 rate? is that per person or per room?

I had a waterview last week, Barbados 1553. We could see the lake & beach in the distance and the quiet pool. It was nice being able to walk out of the room and straight to the walkway around the lake. Some of the standard views are far in with no view, there seems to be so many pathways. The drawback to waterview is it's far from the parking lot and bus stop. We had a corner room but it was next to the main steps, so it was kind of noisy. It was about a 5 minute slow walk to OPR, not bad. I really like the grounds at CBR, it's my favorite of the 4 moderates. I have a night there on Nov 2 when I'm in Orlando for business. I got a $79 AP rate for standard view. Our rate last week was $118 plus tax waterview with AAA.

Hi DebbieB, maybe I will run into you at CBR since I will be there at the same time you are. :)

DebbieB I was in Barbados 15 when I stayed there too! I can't remember the room # but we were on the second floor facing the water with the quiet pool to the right. We loved it. I thought it was a dang good location for a last minute switch!pirate:

Hi

Is there any where I should request to stay on the resort - I dont drive and dont have any kids!

Can anyone help with shuttles or public transport to IDRIVE or Seaworld?

Only 23 days to go and have nothing really planned!

Thank you for this post. I have just started researching for a trip this summer and having read the reviews about CBR I was getting scared away. I feel a lot better.
I do have a questions that still concerns me a bit - I had read about there being a lot of bird droppings on the "island". Is that still the case and does it ruin the walk from Jamaica to OPR? Thanks again

Great thread... I have a few questions if anyone can answer.

Our one and only WDW trip, we stayed at Coronado Springs. I think we where in Ranchos. We thought the walk to/from the restaurant was pretty long. How does the CBR layout compare? How does the atmosphere of CBR compare overall to CS?

The only room available for our stay was a king room. Besides the bed, how does this differ from a regular room?

We are considering bringing an inflatable bed for the kids.
Are cots available?

Thanks

The way that CBR is laid out is nicer than CSR. The food court and main pool are next to each other instead of having to choose one or the other. I don't think it is as long a walk to the food court at CBR.

I don't like the theming at CSR but love it at CBR. I am sure you can get rollaway beds from housekeeping.

You can't go wrong with either resort but we love CBR.

I added a couple of pictures of the view from our room to my post above. I finally learned how to post pictures!

Check-in scenario:

I want to check-in but the buildings I want are not available. I prefer to wait if that is an option given by the CM. I know I can leave my luggage.

Will the desk tell me to check back at 3:00 or will they check me into a room under one of my requested buildings that will become available at that time and then take my luggage to the room? Will I have to be available for them to speak with I guess is what I am asking. Should I be concerned about leaving my luggage and going to a park and not returning until 8:00. I really want to be close to the food court and I'm not sure about the best way to handle the situation if my requests are not vacant.

You should make your request when you check in. If they can put you in that location then there isn't any reason you need to stop back. They will give you a card with a phone number to check on whether your room is ready.

I don't know when you are planning on going but starting in Jan. Martinique and Trinidad North are preferred locations. They will cost $15 extra per night.

There won't be a problem with leaving your luggage until after you return from the parks.
