We are staying at CBR next week and I was thinking about requesting a rollaway bed, but our travel agent was informed by Disney that they "do not provide any on property". Is this something new? I'm stuck requesting one at check-in I guess.

When we go anywhere we bring along our twin air mattress (the deluxe kind) that we bought at SAM's club. Actually it is a KING mattress that unzips to 2 twin mattresses. The are battery inflatable which makes blowing up at night so quick and easy! They are more comfortable than cribs or rollaways, it's easy to move around, stores easy, you don't have to worry about kids falling out in an unfamiliar place, and Adults sleep wonderfully on them! :-D. This is great if you are driving down. If you are flying you might want to consider the weight of the mattress tho. :tinker:

My teen son campaigned for CBR. He keeps saying "I like Pirates!" :lmao:

Are there pirates at CBR?:confused3

Like Safetymom said, there aren't pirates everywhere and the castmembers aren't dressed like pirates. That being said, there are cannons and paths around the island in the middle of the lake. The last two times we were at the CBR (June, 06 and June, 07) the store had a large supply of Pirates of the Caribbean items. Big pirates displays. Very cool. My 10 year old son really liked it.

I just got back from CBR on Sunday and let me just say that if you are told your in Trinidad South when you check in, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! I felt like I was being punished becuase the building was so far away from everything.

hehe. This is how I feel about the 90's building at POP. I love POP, but I was so removed from everything. It was just a big blue obnoxious building to me. :)

We stayed in Trinidad South and actually liked the local, although I did request a closer non-preferred building this next trip. When I made my ressie the CM asked if I had a location preference. I said, sure, but I am not gonna get it. ;) She laughed. I "never" get my requests, so I am not planning on it this time either.

My daughter (age 24 ) and I are going for a mother daughter week Sept 20 - 27th and I was wondering, can we upgrade to a preferred room then, if we think that the regular room is to far away, just for safety reasons for walking at night.

Maybe... I think the preferred rooms book quickly. I tried to add "preferred" to my ressie last year MONTHS before our trip and they told me there were none available. I was disappointed, but when we arrived, we magically got a preferred room. If it is important to you, I would try to change your ressie now.:goodvibes

But, I also don't think safety would be an issue. All the locations are really great, pretty well lit at night and safe.

Thanks, for the advice. My daughter never worries about anything. While I'm there l'll be worried about what my husband and son are doing about dinner and have they fed the cats and birds today. The life of a mom, it never stops.

I am planning my February 2009 trip, it will be my first stay at CBR. I saw that there are standard view rooms, and rooms with better views that you have to pay for. Are the standard view rooms parking lot view rooms, or are the standard view rooms a little better than that? Thanks!

There is so much landscaping at CBR it is very hard to see the cars in the parking lot. I have stayed in many of their standard view rooms and never had a bad view.

I definitely wouldn't pay for a view at the CBR. Like Safetymom said, there's lots of landscaping at the CBR. I would ask for a courtyard view. Have had those both times and the view was lovely.

Here are pictures of our courtyard view:

I agree with not paying extra for a view - we never do, and always end up with a nice court yard view or garden view.

We don't pay for the view but we do pay for the Preferred Location!!! It is so worth it!!!!

Hi! We just booked CBR for the last week of Sept. - 6 days after the pool is supposed to be finished. :cool1: (fingers crossed!) Thanks for all the great pics and info! We've never set foot there before, but the pics and comments sold us.

Here are some photo questions. On the vacation planning DVD there is a shot from CBR looking at I think the Barbados or Aruba section with spaceship earth showing in the background. Is this photo possible to take on the property? I haven't seen it posted so I figured it might be a perspective they were able to acheive with a helicopter, but something you wouldn't be able to do from the ground. I've heard you can see the Illuminations fireworks from CBR as well. Anyone have pics and where is the best viewing? Thanks! ~ducky

We are doing the DCL Land and Sea vacation next week. We will be staying at CBR for 3 nights. I have a few questions:

1. Is the construction jst in certain areas or is it obvious throughout the whole resort?

2. Since we booked through DCL, is it just random as to which area we will be in? I'm guessing we don't get to pick but I just wanted to check.
