Thanks for your replies. We have stayed there before which is why I booked this time, and we had no problems. We really liked it there, but it was about 10 years ago. Reviews I read regarding bugs are from 2008, and some people reported bed bugs.

DD13 and I will be at CBR 8/12 through 8/17; haven't stayed here since she was 2 and we are looking forward to it. I was wondering if any of the bus stops are better than the others around the resort. For example, do we need to get to the "main" stop to ensure that we'll get a bus? In the past at POR, the bus sometimes would be full from the first couple of stops and then just pass by the other stops because there was no room. Does this happen at CBR? If so, what is the first stop? Any other advice for using the bus system at CBR to get around?

Amen to that. Not just for Disney resorts but for hotels/motels all over the U.S. I take the trip advisor reviews with a grain of salt.

Yeah Trip advisor for some reason has a lot of neg reviews but I stayed there in 07 and LOVED it.... but some people always say just inspect your beds when you get there....

The official pool finish date is set for September 15th. It looks ahead of schedule, but there tis no way to know. It all depends on the weather!

Unfortunetly the buses come in from 2 different enterances (there might be more2 i def know of) so there is no knowing where the first stop would be. It's usually in old port royale or one of the trinidads. I did not have the same problem you did in POR... CBR buses are great. I only waited 1 time for about 20 min and that was a bus to DTD. Other then that i was on the bus in 10 min.

We are going to CBR for a Grand Gathering in just 35 days and we are really getting excited! One of the couples in our group is my parents. They are both early risers and like to exercise. My mom is a swimmer and would love to do an early AM swim. What time do the pools open at? My dad is a major biker and would love to rent one to get the kinks out of his body before hitting the parks. What time do these rentals start at? Also if you are renting for a full day, what would "a day" be considered?

There shouldn't be a problem using one of the quiet pools early in the morning unless they are cleaning the pool.

I don't know what they consider a day officially but I would imagine 24 hours from when you rented.

FYI...Jim Hill is reporting (concerning the room renovations) that 900 units will be recieving a "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed makeover and 300 rooms will be redone in a "Finding Nemo" motif. Interesting to say the least. Jim seems to think that they are looking to use the Caribbean beach resort to compete directly with the Nickelodeon Family Suites down the road.

DD would love to stay in the pirates room. It will go well with the new pool theme!

What is interesting about this is that someone on another Disney board I frequent who has a lot of good info and is correct much of the time has concurred that Jim Hill is correct on this and that the 300 rooms in the Nemo style will be Trinidad south and they will be family suites. I thought it was odd that they would put all Suites together in one of the farthest spots. It is also interesting that 300 rooms will be Nemo and 900 rooms will be Pirates. What about the other half of the rooms? Will those stay the same, get remodeled as something else which would end up causing trouble as everyone may want the Pirates rooms. Or maybe there will only be 1200 units at the CBR from now on.

Very interesting on the room changes. I can't wait to see some photos when/if the changes take place.

When we were there back in November, we were in Trinidad South, although right on the edge next to T-North. I actually used their quiet pool because it was closer. We had actually noticed that there were a number of families at the TS quiet pool, so it wasn't so quiet. It kinda makes sense to me that they'd make that the family suites simply because it is further away and more remote.

CBR has 2,112 rooms ... 33 buildings with exactly 64 rooms in each.

I won't believe for a second that they will simply eliminate half the rooms.
