I am staying at CBR Aug. 27 - Sept. 3 and I have alot of ADR. I was wondering how long does it take to get from CBR to some of the other Resorts for breakfast and dinner. I have Hoop Dee Doo, Cape May, Chef Mickey's, Narcoossee's and Ohana. Any tips or info would be great.

Well if you are using Disney transportation, you will need to add extra time in most cases 1 hour should be sufficient, because you will need to travel to one of parks and transfer buses. There are no buses that travel between resorts. If you have your own vehicle the most you would have to travel is about 15-20 minutes, some are even less than that.

We have stayed at the CBR twice and went to Hoop Dee Doo Review both times. The first time, we went to the 7:00 ish show and it took 50 minutes to get there. The second time, we went to the 9:00 ish show and it took 45 minutes.

To get there, you need to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom and go to the WL/Fort Wilderness Boat Launch. Hop on a boat and enjoy the ride. If you are going to the latest HDDR show, there will be buses that will take you back to the CBR. If you go to any of the other shows, you will need to take the boat back to the Magic Kingdom and catch the CBR bus to the resort.

The travel time to Ohana and Chef Mickeys should take a bit less than HDDR. It will just depend on what time your ADRs are for. You'll just hop on a bus to the Magic Kingdom and then take the monorail to the Polynesian to get to Ohana.

To get to Chef Mickeys, just take a bus to the Magic Kingdom and walk to the Contemporary. Not a long walk at all.

We are going to CBR for a Grand Gathering in just 35 days and we are really getting excited! One of the couples in our group is my parents. They are both early risers and like to exercise. My mom is a swimmer and would love to do an early AM swim. What time do the pools open at? My dad is a major biker and would love to rent one to get the kinks out of his body before hitting the parks. What time do these rentals start at? Also if you are renting for a full day, what would "a day" be considered?

TIA!

I'm new to the boards, and have to thank safetymom for her wonderful info and picture taking skills!
We're staying at CBR (1st time for DH and 2 DS) Sept 14-20 - fingers crossed on the pool being completed on time! Now here's my question: I saw something on the boards about a pirate adventure of some sort at CBR. Disney is great and all, but their web site is sorely lacking in info on all the options available (that's why I love this site!). Is this something that I need to book before hand or do I sign up the boys when we get there? They're 3 and 5, I don't know if there's an age minimum...and I don't want to pump it up too much if I'm going to be setting myself and them up for disappointment.
Thanks for any info!

Trying to see if my ticker works. I guess you have to be smarter than a 10 yr old to figure this stuff out!

Hey I'm just excited to write that we are going back May 10 - 16 2009... I Can't wait... i was in CBR in may of 07... then May of 08 we decided to go to CSR because of the refurbs... bad mistake..... but glad to say we are going back...

I LOVE CBR!!!!!

We're staying at CBR in late Oct. 09. I was wondering if anyone has heard any more regarding the room renovations?

Hello - We are happy to be staying at CBR the worst week of them all and Im wondering if anyone can give me some info on the hair wrap station I have seen photos of - hours / cost. Thanks so much - Whip

FYI...Jim Hill is reporting (concerning the room renovations) that 900 units will be recieving a "Pirates of the Caribbean" themed makeover and 300 rooms will be redone in a "Finding Nemo" motif. Interesting to say the least. Jim seems to think that they are looking to use the Caribbean beach resort to compete directly with the Nickelodeon Family Suites down the road.

Any idea when the renovations are scheduled to begin and end?

Great pics of the pool safetymom! :thumbsup2 Those are the most exciting pics yet! :goodvibes From the pics it is hard to tell, but it almost looks zero entry. Is that the case??

We are booked at the CBR for Dec 7-14 and I was really excited about it until I read numerous reviews reporting bugs in the rooms. Has anyone had any problems with this? I'm ready to change my reservation to another resort.

mickeystoontown, Disney has not officially announced a refurb at CBR so no details yet.

G&J's Mom, it looks like it will be zero entry.

I don't know where you are reading numerous reports but CBR doesn't have any more bugs than any other WDW resort

The doors open to the outside so it is FL and insects may come in. You are likely to see palmetto bugs and lizards all over WDW.

Pistachio - I have stayed in CBR and CSR and saw the same kinds of bugs. Nothing in my room but outside all over. Not a huge problem with bugs.

No problems in "any" Disney resort I have ever stayed at. You are in FL and unfortunately it comes with the territory and they could be anywhere and in any resort room, not just CBR.
