Hi all ... new to this whole chat thing - have no clue what all these codes mean but I think I will manage, I am kinda slow but figure I will catch on, be kind while I learn!!! We are going to CBR 10/7 - 14th. Have not stayed on property since I was single (15 + years!) this time I am going with husband and kids 11 and 7. The kids are so excited (so am I!). Two things that are on my mind 1. I selected a preferred room - was this wise? what is the biggest up side of doing this 2. The long ride to the parks due to the size of the resort. Can anyone reply to these 'concerns', hoping someone that has been recently would know how much of a damper (if any) the bus ride puts on the experience etc.
Thanks !

At CBR, "preferred location" means being in a room relatively close to Old Port Royale (OPR), the complex that has the main pool, food court, restaurant, shops, arcade, Banana Cabana (outdoor bar), and water sports rentals. This means less of a walk to get to OPR.
CBR has 33 numbered buildings contained in 6 villages. Each village is named after an island. All 3 buildings in Trinidad North and 3 of the 6 buildings in Martinique are the preferred locations. They flank OPR.
The buses to the parks make a total of 7 stops within the resort before leaving (one stop at each island, plus a stop at OPR). It's not really a pain. If you think about it, loading 50 people onto a bus at 7 stops doesn't take substantially longer than loading an unruly crowd of 50 people at a single stop.
All of the Moderate resorts have multiple stops. To me this is an advantage over the Value resorts, which each have only one main stop. At the Moderates, you're never very far from a bus stop ... at the Values, if you are way at the back of the resort then you have a good hike just to get to a bus and back.
CBR is a wonderful place. ENJOY!
