This isn't as complicated as it looks -- all buses stop at every stop except the Custom House. If you are going to a park, you can just go to the closest bus stop and wait for the bus with the sign corresponding to your destination.

For general, non-bus-route-related info on CBR, please see SafetyMom's Caribbean Beach Resort FAQ Part 3 thread.

Buses at CBR travel clockwise around the resort. All buses stop at the 6 villages plus Old Port Royale, and the Internal shuttle makes an additional stop at the Custom House. This is easier to understand if you refer to the map below:

Each bus arrives every 20 minutes -- if you have to wait longer than 25 minutes use the bus stop phone to call WDW Transportation and complain.

Buses going from CBR TO Epcot, DHS, and AK/BB take the following route:
Jamaica -> Aruba -> Barb. -> Mart. -> OPR -> Trin. North -> Trin. South -> Exit

Buses going from CBR TO MK and DTD/TL take the following route:
Mart. -> OPR -> Trin. North -> Trin. South -> Jamaica -> Aruba -> Barb. -> Exit

If you are returning to CBR FROM a theme park your bus will probably change routes when it enters the resort so you cannot tell where you will stop first. For example, if you take a bus back from Epcot it may change into a MK bus when it arrives at the resort and start at Martinique.

The CBR Internal Shuttle runs every 10 minutes or so on the following route:
Custom House -> Mart. -> OPR -> T.N. -> T.S. -> Jamaica -> Aruba -> Barb. -> C.H....

All buses are marked with their destination on the large LED signs on the front and sides of the bus, as shown below:

That's all you really need to know to get around. If you want to decrease your waiting time, the following tips can help:
  • If you are staying in Jamaica, Aruba, or Barbados you can take any Epcot, DHS, AK/BB, or Internal Shuttle bus to Old Port Royale and any MK, DTD/TL, or Internal Shuttle bus back.
  • If you are staying in Martinique you can take any bus to Old Port Royale but you must take the Internal Shuttle back.
  • If you are staying in the Trinidads you must take the Internal Shuttle to Old Port Royale, but you can take any bus back.
  • The Custom House is across the street from the Barbados bus stop, so after check-in those staying in Barbados should walk, and those staying in Martinique and the Trinidads should cross the street to Barbados and take any Epcot, DHS, AK/BB, or Internal Shuttle bus.
AK/BB = Animal Kingdom & Blizzard Beach
Barb. = Barbados
CBR = Caribbean Beach Resort
C.H. = Custom House (Check-in and Check-out location)
DHS = Disney's Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios)
DTD/TL = Downtown Disney & Typhoon Lagoon
EP = Epcot
Mart. = Martinique
MK = Magic Kingdom
OPR = Old Port Royale (food court, pool, and gift shop area)
T.N. or Trin. North = Trinidad North
T.S. or Trin. South = Trinidad South

Thank you!
We are to arrive this Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008 and were a little intimidated about the bus routes.

I use a scooter and need to try to be at the first bus stop to allow access before the bus gets full.

great info. I just printed it out for my trip next week. Thanks!

Thank you! I had just logged on to ask about the bus at CBR! :worship: So, if you are staying in Trindad, are the buses ever full when they get there?

How did you get this info? Im fairly certain I've been picked up at Jamaica multiple times as the first stop on a bus going to MK. In my trips to CBR it actually seemed to do with more where the bus was coming from/entered the park, then where it was going as you stated. In a similar note, I think every single DHS bus took the same route back to the resort and followed the same path.

I don't think it really matters, as this kind of micro planning is of little benefit overall, but I'm still curious how you came to these conclusions.

Thank you, OP for posting the information. It seems like this is an oft asked question and he was trying to be helpful. For people who have not stayed at CBR before, it is nice to know how the bus works. In the past, finding out how the bus runs at whichever resort we were staying at, eliminated confusion once we arrived.

Happy Holidays:santa:

Great info for those at CBR..

The only thing I'll comment on is the above quote. I was standing in a few bus queues when I was there a few weeks back, and I would hear people say "we've been waiting here for 15 minutes already!" Well, I knew that wasnt true because I was in front of them and I'd only been there 10 minutes :lmao: . I actually was pretty good at looking at my phone to check the time as I would arrive and see. The most I waited was 22 minutes and I had JUST missed the bus, so they were right on. That was from DHS to SSR, but it seemed like they were doing a shift change or something as the only buses I saw during that period was WL and one other resort :lmao: Then BAM almost every resort bus showed up.

So yes, I agree 100% with letting them know if the buses are late, but make it realistic.

We had absolutely no trouble navigating CBR or the buses when we stayed there and that was on our very first WDW trip before we even knew what we were doing! :rotfl: :goodvibes

The info came from the concierge at CBR, asking WDW bus drivers, and observation. I stayed for 10 days in Jamaica, and from that bus stop you can see if a bus has just entered or if it is coming from Trinidad South, and I never saw a bus deviate from this pattern. It is possible that on very crowded days they might start buses at both Jamaica and Martinique if they are filling up before getting all the way around.

I changed the first post to say to call after 30 minutes. I didn't imply that you should call as soon as your stopwatch hits 20:00, but that if it takes much longer than that that something may be wrong (for example, I was stranded at Blizzard Beach for over an hour because their scheduling computer messed up, and when I notified them they sent a VIP bus to take me directly back).

Thanks for the info. We're going to have our first trip to CBR and any help I can get to make it easier...BRING IT ON!!

No, I wasnt implying changing anything in your post, it was great! I was just pointing out to others to be sure they've REALLY been waiting as long as it feels!! I know when I was waiting for the 22 minute bus, it seeemed like for - ever, but when I looked at my watch it had only been about 15 minutes at that time :)

....Nay I feel compelled to ask (this is my very first trip to WDW /DCL 01-07-09 thru 01-15-09) the following from CBR:

Say I want to go to Downtown Disney (day one)
Epcot (day 2)
Hollywood Studios (day 3)
Magic Kingdom (day 4)

ummmm.. what bus do I take? I seriously don't understand this at all & would appreciate a little guidance here. I have ressies @ CBR (01-07-09 to 01-11-09)& don't know yet my room assignment (building) but I am totally clueless as to the buses & how they work! :confused:
Do the buses "say" on the front of them "MK bus" or AK bus" (for example) - I am just a wee bit conernced also about getting on the WRONG bus. :headache:

You just get on to the bus going to DTD day 1, epcot day 2, HS day 3 and MK day 4. The buses go in a loop. Where the enter the park and in what order they go in really is not relevant beyond just knowing the information. They do say on the front of the bus as you guessed what the destination is. Its a very easy system once you're there, but i remember being daunted by it all the first time I went too.

Basically, they stop at various places throughout the CBR resort so that no matter where you are staying at CBR you're always REALLY close to a bus stop.

There are two main places the bus enter the resort, but it does not affect where they go, just which stops they hit first. Im still really certain that they do in fact often hit Jamaica first when going to MK and its wholly dependant on where the bus came from, not where it's going as to which entrance they take. The use of this information would be you could request a certain building in hopes of getting it and being the first picked up or first dropped off depending on your wish. Jamaica is really popular because its not preferred and the bus reasons mentioned in this thread.

I know when I was at CBR for 11 days last year every time I took the bus back from DTD it entered in the same spot. But using observation and concluding this is always how it is probably won't give correct information. Its a short time period and me and the OP had conflicting experiences.

..Thank you! :yay: I am more concerned about just getting on the RIGHT bus than where it is in relation to its schedule since I don't know my building assignment just yet plus I feel very strongly that that is really "splitting hairs" (or as you called it in post #7, "micro planning') all in the effort to just having a little bit of fun in the land that was all started by a Mouse.

thanks again for your input :worship:

Once you stand at a bus stop inside CBR for the first time, you'll see how simple it is. Just stand there and wait. A bus will approach sooner or later. In huge capital letters on the front display of the bus (and on smaller displays on each side) it will state the destination of the bus.

So for example, you want to go to Downtown Disney on Day One. You're standing at the bus stop. The first bus that comes by says "MAGIC KINGDOM" on the front ... don't get on that bus. You wait a few minutes, another bus approaches, you see it says "EPCOT" on the front of that bus ... don't get on that bus. A minute later a bus approaches and it says "DOWNTOWN DISNEY" on the front display ... get on that bus when it stops!

Very very simple; you'll see when you get there, and you won't be tense about it anymore! :thumbsup2
