Caribbean Beach Resort Bus Routes

Once you stand at a bus stop inside CBR for the first time, you'll see how simple it is. Just stand there and wait. A bus will approach sooner or later. In huge capital letters on the front display of the bus (and on smaller displays on each side) it will state the destination of the bus.

So for example, you want to go to Downtown Disney on Day One. You're standing at the bus stop. The first bus that comes by says "MAGIC KINGDOM" on the front ... don't get on that bus. You wait a few minutes, another bus approaches, you see it says "EPCOT" on the front of that bus ... don't get on that bus. A minute later a bus approaches and it says "DOWNTOWN DISNEY" on the front display ... get on that bus when it stops!

Very very simple; you'll see when you get there, and you won't be tense about it anymore! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the answer! Got one more question for ya (please)......>>>>>>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
>>Ok .....(on 01-07-09) My flight comes in around 10:30am. I will be at CBR at approx 11:30am. Get pre-checked in @ approx 12 noon "ish' (yes in a dream world IF IF IF no flight delays, yada yada yada...). I have 6pm "Cirq" tickets at Dwn Twn Disney (must be there by 5pm to p/u tickts @ will call).
So my question is do you suggest I visit AK (ride Exp Everest & see Tree of Life/Its a Bugs life & thats it) then be at Dwntwn Disney say around 5pm "ish"? Would I make it to Dwntwn Disney by 5pm?
Or no??? Just go straight on to Dwntown Disney (after getting pre-checked in @ CBR) & do some shopping / get something to eat....say nap on a bench for an hour..THEN go see Cirq???? BUT WHAT'S MY ROOM #??
I need someone to explain this to me ... I mean how in the world can WDW electronically program your KTTW card WITHOUT you being present for them to "tell it" what your Room # is ?? Per se, (lifted from the Resort Disboard post): " Whether your rm is ready or not, you are always able to check in & get your KTTW card, which will enable to to go out to the parks & enjoy. There is no maybe about it, & it isn't dependent on your room being ready. If you check in before your room is ready, you will be given your KTTW cards, along with a card with a telephone number on it.. you call that # later on in the day to find out your rm # (if its ready yet) so that way, when you return to the resort later on in the day, you don't have to go to the customs house & wait in line, you can just directly to your rm and enter."

-----
Well.... my question has to do about about calling that phne # to see what your room # is (I feel that I will be pre-checking in w/no room assigned just yet). So.......do you suggest I "Hang around" CBR for about an hour 1/2 (IF my room isn't ready) say get something to eat at the Food court..buy one of those refillable drinkng mugs....THEN go back to Customs House to get room #, THEN go onto Dwntwn Disney??
Only issue I have is have no way of calling that phne# -(if I go straight onto Dwntwn Disney or AK). Fair to say WDW has pay phones????? How much to call that #???? Also......

In a "dream world," I would like to get Pre-checked in, Go to AK (12pm to 4pm), boogy on down to Dwntwn Disney by 5pm, see Cirq @ 6pm, do some light shopping afterwards & get back to CBR when done but need some help here.
Or is it JUST EASIER to hang around CBR , get that rm #, THEN go onto dwntwn disney?? (becuz of possible "Murphy's Law" aka "Flight delays, I've been up since 3am & I am in a tired mode, etc). I tell you what, this is driving me ( :crazy2: ).

P.S. I figure I will be up & about at 3:30am that day to catch a 5:30am taxi to DFW airport for a 7:45am flight into Orlando (on 01-07-09).

Now, this is just playing the percentages, but since you are going at an off-peak time, it is VERY likely that your room will be ready when you check-in.
My flight comes in around 10:30am.

If you get done at the CBR Custom House at Noon, you could walk across to the Barbados bus stop (the nearest bus stop to the Custom House) and wait for an ANimal Kingdom bus, and can expect to be at AK by 12:45 at the latest (assuming you have a long wait for a bus). The problem isn't getting to AK, it's getting to Downtown Disney from AK ... there is no direct transportation between DTD and any of the four theme parks. To get from AK to DTD via Disney Transport, you'd have to take a bus from AK to another resort, and then from that resort take a bus to DTD. This can be a time-consuming process, plan for not less than one hour (again, due to the potential waiting time for 2 different rides, a ride from AK to a resort and then from that resort to DTD). You don't have to get a ride back to CBR and from there to DTD ... you can pick any resort you like. SOme people recommend taking a bus to Saratoga Springs Resort, as it's about a 10-minute walk to DTD (but then it would be another 5-10 minute walk from that side of DTD to the La Nouba theater). But you could take a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge, or Coronado Springs, or Port Orleans French QUarter, or CBR, and then get to DTD from there.

I recommended those resorts because of 2 reasons: they make geographic sense (they are more or less "on the way" between AK and DTD) and you avoid resorts that share buses and thus add to any bus ride delay; Port Orleans French Quarter shares buses with Port Orleans Riverside, but POFQ is the first stop, which prevents you from a delay driving around other places first. If you want a more interesting ride to DTD, take the bus to POFQ, walk through the resort, and take the boar to DTD. Actually, then I should have added Old Key Wesy resort to the list, because it is nearer to DTD than POFQ is, and you can also take a boat from there to DTD.

So, if you want to do all the scurrying around, you could theoretically enjoy AK from about 12:45 to 3:45 or 4:00 p.m.

BUT WHAT'S MY ROOM #??
I need someone to explain this to me ... I mean how in the world can WDW electronically program your KTTW card WITHOUT you being present for them to "tell it" what your Room # is ??
Two possibilities ... I'm POSITIVE that one of them is true, but I have no idea which one is true. One possibility: the room key isn't encoded with the actual room number. Rather, it's encoded with a unique identifier which is, more or less, your reservation number. Every time that card is used, the computer system accesses the vast Disney database. So all they need to do is tell the database what your room number is. The other possibility: at the time of check-in they DO encode your key with your actual room number, but they just don't tell it to you since you can't access the room yet anyway. They won't tell it to you until the room is ready (hence the phone call).
Well.... my question has to do about about calling that phne # to see what your room # is (I feel that I will be pre-checking in w/no room assigned just yet). So.......do you suggest I "Hang around" CBR for about an hour 1/2 (IF my room isn't ready) say get something to eat at the Food court..buy one of those refillable drinkng mugs....THEN go back to Customs House to get room #, THEN go onto Dwntwn Disney??
Hanging around CBR would be MUCH less hectic and stressful. On the other hand, going to AK for a few hours would be a lot of fun. You'll need to decide between relaxing and scurrying about. Different strokes for different folks ... there's no one size fits all answer here.
Only issue I have is have no way of calling that phne# -(if I go straight onto Dwntwn Disney or AK). Fair to say WDW has pay phones????? How much to call that #????
I imagine there are some pay phones, but I don't know precisely where. Would it be worth it to you to, at home, buy a "pay as you go" cellphone such as through www.tracfone.com. They cost $10 or $15 and then you have to buy airtime, but that way you'd have a cellphone (with no monthly bill or monthly fee; it's strictly pay as you go).

The busses at CBR were excellent on out recent trip in October. I was very impressed with how quickly they came. Of course, keep in mind a lot depends on the time of year you go and how full the resort is. All in all though, transportation was fine, we had no issues at all.

A huge thank you for all the info. The mystery has finally been cleared up.
What I am going to do is get pre-checked in (again , in a dream world with no flight delays, etc) at CBR approx 11:30am - boogy on down to Dwn Twn Disney for some shopping - check out Bongos for a late lunch / early dinner followed by checking out the Key Lime Pie at Wolfgang Puck Restaurant (YUM!) , THEN head on over to see the "Cirq" show by 5pm (early seating).
What the sticking point was was the issue of my KTTW card. Yes, I stumbled into the answer to that which is to basically "chill out" & go see what I want to see (see above), then kindly ask any WDW rep at any Down Twn Disney merchandising point to use their courtesy phone to call that # CBR will provide me (via an index card) that will tell me my room# & Building #.
This way, after Cirque Du Soleiu performance, I can head back to the CBR area - take the CBR bus.......THEN check their swimming pool area for a while or just head back to my room (for day 1).
But the BIGGEST reflection of a piece of wisdom I have gained here (& I appreciate everyone's help here) in one day  is that I see no point in going to the CBR food court at all (be it in early am or late pm). I view it as a time waster (takes time to get from your room to there to then onto the parks, etc). So, I would rather enjoy eating in the parks.
Now, yes, some of you will flame me for that but again, keep in mind this is just my opinion. I would rather experiece Disney "in style" & have fun at the same time. So, yes, I welcome any suggestions on what /where to eat while at the parks. What I have so far:

Day one (DwnTwn Disney): Bongos, Wolfgang Puck
Day Two: (Epcot): Eat & drink around the world :woohoo:
Day Three (Hollywood studios) 6pm ressies at 50's prime time cafe
Day four (MK): ?????? :confused3

Of course, keep in mind I plan on eating & drinking at Epcot AFTER I ride test track (level orange) & test tract

Can anyone attest to whether or not this route map & description of the internal & park busses at CBR is still accurate?

I don't know if the entrance the bus uses depends on which park it is going to. But it is totally irrelevant, IMO. All parks buses stop at all of the resort's bus stops (besides the Custom House - only the internal shuttle stops there) before heading to their destination park.

Does anyone know if this information is still accurate? Are MK/DS buses still the only ones to enter from the North end of the resort?

I'm at CBR right now in the Jamaica section. I've been here one week and every bus I've been on except Disney springs started in Jamaica. In the morning I believe they do separate busses for each half of the resort because we got empty busses in Jamaica first thing and left after Barbados.

Thank you so much for this!

I'm going in December and renting an ECV from Scooterbug. I am concerned about the bus already being full when it gets to me, and either having to drive the scooter on a bus full of people, or having to wait for another bus because there are already 2 scooters on it (and possibly another bus, and another bus, etc). According to Touring Plans room search, there is only one room that matches what I booked (King Bed/ADA compliant), room 5404 in Aruba. Assuming they are correct and that is the room I get, should I go to the Jamaica bus stop instead of Aruba?

We have over 55 nights total at CBR and we've never seen anyone, ECV or not, be left behind to wait for another bus. And we've been there when the resort is at capacity.

There are at least 15 King ADA rooms at CBR. That room finder tool at Touring Plans is extremely inaccurate.

Thank you dansdad. That makes me feel a little better.

Now I know why that room type was still available after I booked my room. Do you know of another site that has the other ADA rooms listed?

BTW, both those things actually happened to me at Port Orleans French Quarter in March. I got left behind when a couple who both had scooters got there just before me. The bus was otherwise pretty empty, so I was stuck there by myself, and had to wait at least another 20 minutes. And I also had to drive the scooter on a full bus that was bringing people back to Riverside afterwards. Better than getting left behind, but really hard not to hit anyone while getting it parked in its spot on the bus.

I would agree hat most of the time they can squeeze people on he busses and often don't need to squeeze but around 2:45 on a pre Halloween party MK bus the bus driver wouldn't ask anyone to get up from handicap seats (I know they don't have to). I had to stand with my Walker because the bus was packed. I had already skipped a full bus because I was going to have to stand (again no one offered to get up I guess). I had a feeling they were all going to be full so I got on. I was just behind the yellow line behind driver and couldn't keep my balance and hold the Walker collapsed (rollator with wheels and a seat). After almost falling a couple times I opened the Walker and locked the wheels and sat it on the driver side of the yellow line. It was a terrible ride. I couldn't believe no one would move their little children from handicap seats to laps but they were there first. No one got off at the rest of the stops and they couldn't fit anyone else on.
This was the only bus ride I experienced like that. Did make me reconsider moderate hotels for future. At least Pop only has one stop. Again I think this was a bizarre exception not the rule.

We are just back (October 3rd) from CBR. We had a wheelchair to help mom get around. I agree with dansdad, not once was a wheelchair or scooter left behind and there were several times that the bus drivers had people move from the handicap seats for those that were using a wheelchair or scooter. We were able to collapse our wheelchair and mom could walk on and that helped us but I can assure you, I would have no problem asking someone to get up for someone that needed assistance or carrying a sleeping baby. I gave up my seat several times. That is one of my biggest pet peeves.

I just stayed at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort in late April, and I can confirm their bus schedule here.

All theme park buses follow this route:
Theme Park --> Jamaica --> Aruba --> Barbados --> Martinique --> Old Port Royale --> Trinidad North --> Trinidad South --> Theme Park

All Disney Springs buses follow this route:
Disney Springs --> Martinique --> Old Port Royale --> Trinidad North --> Trinidad South --> Jamaica --> Aruba --> Barbados --> Disney Springs

Caribbean Beach also employs the use of an internal shuttle, which makes another stop at the Customs House:
Customs House --> Martinique --> Old Port Royale --> Trinidad North --> Trinidad South --> Jamaica --> Aruba --> Barbados --> Customs House

From about 8:00am - 11:00am, they do in fact have two separate buses for each side of the resort to meet the morning demand (excluding Disney Springs). They do not do this for the evening return rush, as guests would easily be frustrated if they were on the wrong side of the resort.

Side 1:
Theme Park --> Jamaica --> Aruba --> Barbados --> Theme Park
Side 2:
Theme Park --> Martinique --> Old Port Royale --> Trinidad North --> Trinidad South --> Theme Park

It should be noted that with the construction and potential new gondola system that's being installed, this transportation could change, but I think what I saw in April will be pretty consistent for at least another year.

Hoping this is still current. I reserved Jamaica 43, CSR was pretty sure these routes were still in effect.
