I'm going to Caribbean Beach in 3-04 and have a question. I know that the resort is divided up into groups, and I think they are named after islands. Does anyone have a preference as to what area of the resort is best to stay in, and why? (close to bus stop, nice surroundings, etc) Thanks - The King

Jamaica is the BEST location in my opinion. It is very close to the bus stop and it is the first bus stop to be let off when coming back from the kingdom, EPCOT, MGM, ect. We always got a great seat on the bus because of this. It also is not too far away from the food court.

1 more thing... How does Caribbean Beach compare to Coronado springs? (other than that Coronado is a conference center also)

I stayed at CSR a couple of years ago and it just did not appeal to me. The main reason being I have 2 sons, and it just isn't as family oriented as theCBR. We didn't like the restaurants at CSR and the walk to the food court is a long way.(depending which area you are in) I know alot of people like CSR but this is just my opinion.

I love CBR. I have never stayed at CSR, have visited for lunch and did think the Pepper Market was good. Back to CBR-Jamaica is my favorite too. Love the yellow/lt blue bldgs. The walk across the bridge to OPR is quick and fun. We have a car when we stay there, so the exit to the road is right off the parking lot. It is only one way (out for cars), but you can leave the property pretty fast to head to the parks:) The view of OPR across the lake is nice too.
The room size is large, for a mod, and the storage space can't be beat. I'm trying the WL 2/04, and I'm sure I will fall in love with that resort, but my budget is more in the mod range. (More nights, lower price)
Hoping to plan my next trip soon.princess:

we have stayed at All Stars Music, CBR, and Wilderness Lodge. My wife and I are planning on going back in May just 5 months after the family trip, we were going to stay at the pop century, but really want to stay at the CBR. We are actually looking at getting flights out of Boston instead of Providence to save some cash ;-) Needless to say, it make us feel like we are in the Carribean and we also stayed in Jamaica 44. Good luck.

We stayed in Trinadad North and liked it alot. We had a car so I don't know about the buses but it was a short walk to the main pool and food court.

Each of the villages at CBR has its own bus stop, so you're never very far from one. As tiggersmom noted, Jamaica is SOMETIMES the first stop for buses returning from the parks. I say sometimes because there actually are two different routes; one makes the first stop at Jamaica, the other doesn't (although I can't recall exactly where it stops first).

We prefer Trinidad North or Martinique because they are situated on either side of Old Port Royale, where the food court, restaurant, shop, etc. are located. That makes it quick and easy to hop over for a quick breakfast, snack, shopping run. etc.

We have stayed at both the CBR and CSR and loved them both....they are actually fairly similiar in their layout and when you're in the Cabana's section of CSR, it almost has the feel of CBR. I will agree that CSR doesn't quite have the same family feel to it...It is a little more adult oriented....although saying that; dd's most favorite pool in WDW is the main dig site pool at CSR. We also thought the bus transportation from CSR was the best we've ever had at a disney resort(we have also stayed at: ASMu, ASMo, CBR, AKL, CR, & POFQ)....
now, as far as location at CBR: our absolute favorite is Martinique, Building #26....closest to Old Port Royale, the main themed pool and the marina...also, each island had its own "quiet" pool...the only caviat is: because of this great location, demand for this village as well as Trinidad North was so high, that disney has made these buildings "preferred" and thus charge a higher rate for them....I really want to go back to this resort(CBR); it's been a while and our family really loved it...maybe this Jamaica's not sounding too bad either...Is this the village directly on the other side, across from Parrot Cay?

Jamaica is also our favorite, 45 is a close building to the bridge to OPR, and the walk is scenic and only takes about 3 minutes or so. We like the walk and it is the main reason we like Jamaica. We always get a King room. I have some pictures posted on the CBR FAQ thread.

We stayed in Trinidad North and loved it. We had a corner room, facing the parking lot on the first floor. We could park our car right outside our door. We thought the rooms were great, good size and very colorful. Can't wait to go back!!

We stayed at Martinique and it was great. The location was right at the food court, main pool and outside poolbar, which was a plus. We also were able to sit basically outside our door at the beach and watch the illuminations fireworks at Epcot.(invaluable if you have little ones-take the monitors).
I am sure what ever location you choose your stay will be Magical.
Have FUN, and Enjoy the World!

We stayed in Martinique 2629 and loved it! We faced a beautiful courtyard and it was a short walk to one of the beaches. It was also less than a five minute walk to OPR which was very nice. We would get back from the parks in the evenings, grab our mugs, and head to OPR for drinks and snacks, which was a nice way to end our day. Kevind65 is right, though. They have started charging more for Martinique, calling them "preferred" rooms, but I think they're only $10 more a night. You'll have to decide if it's worth it to you.
