My wife and I are going on the Disney Cruise in October but want to stay in one of the resorts listed the night before. I think the most important criteria is distance to Downtown Disney (so my wife can bankrupt us before we even set foot on the ship), but they both look to be about the same distance. But it also looks like the CB is closer to the Boardwalk, which is also an interesting place to visit. Any advice you can give us? Thanks!

Since I have never stayed at CBR I can only comment on POR. We loved it last year and they have a boat ride to DTD. It picks up at POR & POFQ and I think the ride is about 20 minutes long. Nice and relaxing!

Hope this info helps.

Have fun on your cruise!

If you are depending on a bus they both would be about equal. If you want a nice scenic ride to DTD stay at PO and take the boat. You can't go wrong with either choice. We have stayed at both and like them both for different reasons.

You can't go wrong with either resort. Both are beautiful and special in their own way. So, whichever way you choose you will have a magical stay. However, if you had to force me to decide, I would pick Riverside. It is my all time favorite, it is truly a beautiful resort and the food is a little better. Whatever you choose, have a great time!

I think the Caribbean would be more fun to get you in the mood for your Disney cruise with the tropical atmosphere!

:p We have stayed at both, CBR with kids 3 times and POR last Sept., just me and DW. We are going back to POR in Dec. (just DW and me). I would recommend POR for just the two of you and I second safetymom's vote for the boatride to DTD. It's a great ride and less hectic than the busses or driving and trying to find a parking space.:p

I also loved both resorts but for convenience to DTD, POR wins hands down. That boat ride is a great "chill out" after a session of power shopping.
On one such boat ride back to POR last Thanskgiving, we were lucky enough to see the space shuttle take off!
