So we have been toying with the idea of possibly upgrading our hotel. My husband, our 2 year old and I are heading to Disney in February along with my in-laws. Originally we wre going to get two rooms at the Caribbean Beach. Butnow wehave been toying with the idea of just getting 1 room at the Contempory and splitting the cost. What do you think? WIllwe have enough room for all 5 of us at the Contempory? We are not in our room much to begin with when we go, we are go go go type of people who spend most of the time in the parks, and jsut use our room to sleep at. What do you think

You need two rooms. Everyone needs a break from traveling companions at some point, even if they are your parents, in laws, best friends, etc;. DMIL is going with us in Sept and we have a two bedroom reserved at BLT. Would not do all of us in a single room, even if we could. JMHO

Have you all traveled together before sharing a room? it can get pretty crowded. Say you and hubby have a disagreement or your inlaws do, it can be uncomfortable. Or if the baby gets cranky and someone can't sleep. The Contemporary is wonderful but as much as I love my inlaws, we'd have to have separate rooms.

We've done the trip with the parents, us and the grandchildren all in one room. We did it once and that was the last time. I'd stick with two rooms at the CBR.

I would go with the Contemporary because of the bigger rooms, more dining locations, Resort Monorail access and the walkway to the Magic Kingdom.

The Contemporary rooms are huge! And so are the bathrooms. Out of all the deluxes we have stayed at (all except AKL & YC) the Contemporary has the best bathroom space. You can shower and have plenty of room to dress in there. But, I try to picture myself with my inlaws in the same room-I wouldn't be comfortable. I would get a 2 bedroom at BLT & split the price!

2 rooms - ANYWHERE would be better than sharing a room with in-laws! :lmao: I don't care how well you get along...that's just too much togetherness!

No way I would share with my in-laws, nor would we share with my mom! You definitely need a break from each other.

Have you looked into 2 rooms at WL?

Yeah, there is no way I could share the room with my inlaws. :lmao: I love CR, but I would rather have 2 rooms.

That's what we did. We have both my in-laws, my mother, wife, and 4 year old son all in a 2 bedroom. Each 'family' has their own bathroom. Although we have concerns about space it is far better than a family suite at POP and cheaper than 3 rooms almost anywhere else!

We've done the two rooms with the in-laws and I'd *highly* recommend it! Nice to be able to close the connecting doors, too!:)

Normally, I'd say go with the CR with the monorail, but I would stick with the 2 rooms @ CBR ! I think it will be much easier!!

Yeah, after that first trip of being "all together in one room", all future trips were "two rooms." We learned the hard way. ;)

Did you look into a DVC resort -- a 1 bedroom gives you a dedicated bedroom (where you could close your door at night) and a living room w/ pull out couch&they are actually very comfortable. Also you get a full kitchen, washer and dryer and depending on the resort you either get 2 full baths or 1 and 1/2 baths.

We are a family of 5 and fit comfortably in one room at CR. I'm just not sure about sharing with in laws. I might look into a suite at CR or Villa at BLT. Good luck and have a great vacation!

Just a thought but if you would like to stay at the CR maybe get a room in the South Wing, bottom floor. We did this when my DD takes friends with us and having the patio is almost like another room. If the room get a little crowded you can sit out on the patio in the morning or even at night until everyone has gone to bed if things feel a little crowded. I know the tower has balconies but the patio is nice cause you may just want to walk around also it is better to watch the water on the bay side or people watch on the inside.

2 rooms where ever you can afford, but if you can afford the Contemporary, get 2 rooms there--try for garden wing, lower price than the tower, quieter, and look for a discount.
Nothing beats the Contemporary, but I would never share a room.

I have stayed at both and I say if you can stand your inlaws in the same room for that long...then go for Contemporary!! The Garden Wing is beautiful and the bathrooms are huge and I agree with the suggestion of getting a bottom floor room with a patio....

The location is great, the restaurants are good, the gift shop is nice, the monorail is so convenient -
