Well now I am confused , with the new codes for Nov I am thinking of changing my mind. It took a long time in deciding on HIFS but, now if have this feeling inside that we should stay on Resort. Help!

If it was your first trip to WDW and you don't know when you will ever be able to go again, have two kids(6&8) who know nothing about their surprise vacation and parents that want to make it a trip that they won't forget, what would you do?:D

If we were to stay at CB, what is the best village to stay at when you have kids?

I would definately stay onsite. It is very convenient, especially with kids. But be prepared, you may not want to stay off-site again.

I have stayed at CBR and will be staying there in August this year, I love it there...its a beautiful resort. My favorite island is Jamaica, but if you have kids u may want to be closer to OPR (food court) and the main pool, and so Martinique or Trinidad North would be better for you. You won't be disappointed at CBR, its a magical place, and has a tropical feel, plus stuff to do with kids: water mice, pontoon boats, surry bikes...there is a white sand beach and playground equipment...the food court is pretty decent and there is a nice gift shop and arcade in OPR...the kids will love the ducks and swans that are everywhere...my husband gave me the choice this year of going to Beach Club or Yacht Club, but I chose CBR because I truly love it....at night u can see the epcot fireworks from the patio at OPR...hey if you have some spare food, the ducks will even watch along with ya! The bus service is excellent. Any other questions? Just ask....

STAY ON PROPERTY!!!!If you have never been and don't know when or if you will ever be back I wouldn't hesitate for a second!!
I am staying at CBR for the first time myself this December so I can only tell you that everyone seems to agree that Martinique 25 is the most convenient to food court and main pool-so that's what I requested.
I have stayed at ASMo my last 2 visits and we loved it-a little small-but DISNEY to the max!We decided to change resorts this year because we are planning on spending more time there this year than in the parks-change of pace! With the codes we couln't resist!
You can get ASsp or ASMU for around 60.00 w/tax with the new codes so that's quite a deal too!
Whatever you decide you know you'll have fun so GOOD LUCK!
Kim
P.S.I'm sure Seaspray will respond to your post and she has her own sight with great pictures and info so check it out!!!!!!!!

If it's your first trip to WDW and you might not get to go back for a long time, or ever, then you should stay on property. A big part of the magic comes from staying at a Disney resort. Some might disagree. But if it I knew it was my last trip, I'd stay with Disney.

hulabird, thank-you for your resonse.

Would you mind telling me what OPR stands for?
So if I was to ask for Martinque or Trinidad North I would be safe?
Are they close to the Resort's main pool? Which one would you pick?

OPR=Old Port Royale

Martinique 26,25 are really close to OPR and main pool
Next closest Trinidad North 31 (but its a smoking building) 31, 32

If they say Trin South is what you are getting, or Barbados, try and get them to give you something else like Jamaica or Aruba....Barbados and Trin South are long long walks to food court area..just so you know, buildings ending in 1 (21, 31, 51) are all smoking buildings, so unless u smoke or don't mind, I would stay away from those.

Since you are a "countryduck" you should love CBR! LOL

Good for you, Country Duck!
You will all have the best time of your lives!

I think you made a terrific choice. Being on-site makes it a complete vacation, not just traveling back and forth to the parks. Have a wonderful trip.

Good choice, countryduck! You should have the time of your life!

Take small stuffed animals for the kids & leave in the room (mousekeeping does great things with the washclothes & towels, but even better things with the kids favorite animals);)

Have a magical, memorable trip!

We just returned from CBR. It was our first trip to this resort.
We loved it!! I can't say enough about the beauty of this resort.
The landscaping is superb. We were in Trinidad North 32 and felt that it was a great location. It was a short walk to OPR and a very pleasant one at that. Parking was also very easy. I faxed room requests down 3 days before we arrived. Everything we requested, we received. I hope to go back to CBR soon. It was great.

Would it be a good idea to request ground level, garden view. Or are there advantages to being on the second floor?

What are some things that I should request if staying at CB. I have asked for a room in Martinique 25 or 26.
Do most people request a refrigerator?

I'm so excited!:Pinkbounc

For some reason we have always been given a top floor. This April I went with a friend no family and we were given a first floor. I can't tell you how pleasant it was to not have to run up stairs carrying thing. i would request a bottom floor especially if you have young children. You can always walk up the stairs to catch a glimpse of the fireworks if you are at the resort when they are going on at Epcot or MGM. Our room was as quiet as the Poly rooms and I enjoyed it. I think that most people don't use the walk way past the rooms they stick to the landscape pathways whick I think cuts down on noise near your room.

We requested and received a first floor room during our recent stay at CBR Trinidad North 32. We should have done this before.
We really enjoyed being on ground level. As for the refirgerator, we brought our own. We have one that is about the size of the ones that CBR rents. We just put it on our luggage cart and off we went. This worked out great. We like to keep breakfast and soft drinks in our room. We viewed the fireworks from the beach and had a very good view.

Staying onsite is the way to go. Ask for bldg. 45 in the Jamaica section at CBR. It is away from the noise at Old Port Royale yet close to the beach and the pool.

Here is another thumbs up for CBR. I just stayed there in May in Trinidad North and loved the place!!!!!! The CMs in the gift shop were some of the nicest CMs I have ever run into! I was pin trading so we ran into each other at least once a day! LOL! ;)
