Where did you watch the fireworks? I'm trying to see where is good for the one night we'll be at the resort to see them. Thanks!

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay.

I'm so worried about the buses for my early mornings.

We actually watched the fireworks from the parking lot. We thought we would be able to see them from the walkway outside of our room but since we were on the 2nd floor the trees were all right in our line of vision.

We normally left for the parks about 8:45 and we seriously never waited long at all. Some times the bus drove up as we were walking to the bus stop and we had no wait at all. :goodvibes

I did it!:banana::banana:

Called this morning and switched for POR Royal Room to CBR Standard for our mommy/daughter graduation/softball trip in July. Requested Jamaica 45, upper floor, corner room pixiedust: and saved almost $400!!:cool1:

I saw on the menu for the quick service at Old Port Royale that they have the large pizzas. Does anyone know if these can be purchased using 2 credits (for delivery I read somewhere it takes 2 table service credits - so I thought/hoped that maybe the counter service would be similar credit wise.

Thanks for any insight!

Is there a building in either Aruba or Barbados that isn't a bad walk to either OPR or main lobby? I don't mind 5 min or so walk (especially if grounds are lovely) we will have one or two strollers with us and plan to use main lobby to catch cabs a couple times but will most often be using pool and food court.

Aruba 51 is 4-5 minute stroll across the bridge to OPR.

No need to go to OPR for a cab. If you call Bell Services they will have a cab pick you up right outside your building.

Oh great! I didn't realize that about the cabs - fantastic!

Alright ....I have a question before I decide what to do.
Currently, I'm booked at ASMovies in a Preferred room. It's just me and the kids, 10 nights, doing 5 park days (possibly 6), WP&M option. May do a Universal day as well (have a ticket that needs to be used by end of the year). Relying solely on disney transport for the first time ever (we normally drive).

The only rooms I have available to choose from at CBR are Pirate rooms (standard and waterview).
realistically, how far is the walk to the main pool/building?

We were able to use two counter service credits to purchase a full size pizza when we were there last May. :thumbsup2

First off, I wouldn't pay the extra for a water view no matter if it were a pirate room or just a standard room. Disney's idea of a water view can be of a pool or even a slight view of any body of water. Second, we haven't stayed in a pirate room but I have walked over to the village of Trinidad South several times and the walk back to Old Port Royale took me about 7-8 minutes.

Well sadly we are now back from our vacation. It was truly amazing!!!! All the hard work of planning really paid off. Everything worked out perfect for us. Our vacation started off with some Disney dust. We were given Jamica building 45 second floor overlooking trhe courtyard. I have to agree with you dansdad. The walk to the pool area and restraunts was beautiful and did not seem very long at all. I don't know if it was the time we left to catch the busses or what but we never had to wait for one but a few minutes. 95% of the time we were walking up to the bus stop and our bus was just pulling in. We were always able to get a seat and seemed to be the first pick up each morning. The pool in beautiful!!! We went to the Poly for the Luau and got a chance to look at the pool there. I actually like the Caribbean's pool much better! I got the chance to walk around the resort and look at each area. honestly they are all beautiful and a I do not think you could go wrong with any of them. We were not as lucky to see any rooms being refurbished but I am actually glad ours was the old style. My son was very excited to see the Nemo design. I thought it was beautiful, very clean, and no odor what so ever. The beds were very comfortable. I was concerned that they would be too small but we had plenty of room. After researching there is only a six inch difference between a full and queen anyway. If any of you are sitting on the fence about this resort I would say try it. We fell in love with it. There was an area near the parking lot of Jamica behind the bus stop where there looked like construction type equipment was stored but you hardly noticed it. It did not take away any of the beauty of the area what so ever. Just an FYI in case some one may have been concerned about that.

So glad to hear that you had a great time and loved the resort! One of my favorite things to do is walk around the resort and just take in all of the beautiful surroundings.

I requested Jamaica but really don't care where we are placed so long as we are back in our "happy place".

Hi! I saw on the sticky of this thread that CBR has rollaway bed for 15$. Do they really charge for it? We use to stay at CSR and never had to pay for it... Thanks for your help...

They charged us $15 per night at Pop Century this past December - so I'm guessing that it will be the same at CBR. And it's only on a first come first served availablity.

Thanks! I'm surprised I always got it for free. Well, hopefully we will get the same pixie dust ...

If I recall right you are just days away from your vacation! Have a great time! Enjoy the new ride at Mk. It should be open when you go.
Honestly I would have been fine staying in any area at that resort. It is just beautful! I am having serious withdrawls and I am working on a plan to talk DH to going back. I have a mixture of Beauty and the Beast music running through my head and the Caribbean music they played at the resort. Have a great time!

I can say this morning they were changing out the rooms in Jamaica 41. That's the building right next to where the parking lot has all of the containers in it. Permits on windows, workers all around and everything. Just saw it riding by on the bus so I couldn't snoop but wanted to update everyone! :goodvibes

You are remembering correctly. We check in on the 24th! I have FP+ for the mine train...actually, I have two. One on the day it opens and another on our second Magic Kingdom day.

Again, I'm so very happy that enjoyed the resort so much. I can't wait to get back there.

Thanks for the update Steph! Now, if they'd just have a room ready for me when we get there on Saturday. :rotfl:

3 days and counting...

Woo hoo! It's almost time for both of us!
