This is my first post :-)
Well after reading 253 pages on this hotel on this thread I am now happy we booked are holiday this weekend to go to the CBR next May. Also excited to hear more on the refurbishments. We have been to disney twice before but stayed off site both times but excited to be staying on site this time. Thanks for all the info keep it coming :-)

Just got back from 12 days at CBR and had a fantastic time! We usually say in Jamaica but ended up in Trinidad North this time, it was great there as well. There's not a lot of Reno evidence going on, but there was one taped up room in our area that we got a sneak peek into one morning when they left the door open. I think it looks great, queen beds and all new design. Very positive change IMO( wish I would have had my phone with me to snap a pic)

Cool! Did you notice any sign of the rumoured "Murphy" bed?:)

Welcome to the Disboards! We used to stay offsite and enjoyed ourselves immensely. But, then we stayed onsite and there was no turning back.

Yay for a great trip! How neat that you were able to peek into one of the new rooms. :thumbsup2 We check in this Saturday and I plan to do a little exploring myself. So, the room that you saw was in Trinidad North?

I would drive or take a cab. the buses to DTD are notoriously slow. one of the reasons is it takes the long route. DTD is right down the street from CBR, but the bus turns left at Bonnet creek drive, then right on vacation club way, and then 2 more rights. I have no idea why (I guess to avoid a left turn into DTD?)

the 2nd stpo at DTD (by planet hollywood ) will be closer to trex than the first

I think we will take a cab. Thanks!

Did you see those pics of the supposed "mock" room from a while back? Is that what the room you saw looked like?

Hi Mickeystoontown ! Better luck with the snooping this time! I loved your trip report (took about a week to read) and just wanted to wish you an amazing vacation - not long to go! x Charlie

Thanks Charlie! Wow, you had a lot of reading to do if you read the whole report. :thumbsup2 I can hardly wait to get back to our home away from home. We'll be there on Saturday!

I'm checked in! Got some pixie dust in the form of getting a room in Jamaica 45 without requesting it! Works out well since my mom has bad knees and will get enough exercise on them in the parks each day.

Yay! You've arrived and got a great location too! Hope to see you when we get there.

Awesome! Our favorite location!

I have seen that pic, and it looked quite similar, but the lights were off so it was hard to gauge colors and such. :)

Bummer. I was not a fan of that room. Of course it doesn't matter if I like it or not if it doesn't have the Murphy bed. : (
Hopefully the next few on this thread to go can check out the buildings you mentioned and check for that Murphy bed.
Please, please, please.....

Well sadly we are now back from our vacation. It was truly amazing!!!! All the hard work of planning really paid off. Everything worked out perfect for us. Our vacation started off with some Disney dust. We were given Jamica building 45 second floor overlooking trhe courtyard. I have to agree with you dansdad. The walk to the pool area and restraunts was beautiful and did not seem very long at all. I don't know if it was the time we left to catch the busses or what but we never had to wait for one but a few minutes. 95% of the time we were walking up to the bus stop and our bus was just pulling in. We were always able to get a seat and seemed to be the first pick up each morning. The pool in beautiful!!! We went to the Poly for the Luau and got a chance to look at the pool there. I actually like the Caribbean's pool much better! I got the chance to walk around the resort and look at each area. honestly they are all beautiful and a I do not think you could go wrong with any of them. We were not as lucky to see any rooms being refurbished but I am actually glad ours was the old style. My son was very excited to see the Nemo design. I thought it was beautiful, very clean, and no odor what so ever. The beds were very comfortable. I was concerned that they would be too small but we had plenty of room. After researching there is only a six inch difference between a full and queen anyway. If any of you are sitting on the fence about this resort I would say try it. We fell in love with it. There was an area near the parking lot of Jamica behind the bus stop where there looked like construction type equipment was stored but you hardly noticed it. It did not take away any of the beauty of the area what so ever. Just an FYI in case some one may have been concerned about that.

Great to hear! Were you near the quiet pool in Barbados? How was the walk to Main pool?
I don't mind a stroll - and if it's a beautiful setting all the better...

We weren't real close to anything except the bus stop. It was about a 3 minute stroll to the quiet pool and probably a 10-12 minute walk to the main building. The setting was beautiful!!
