It looks really wonderful!!! It's a pity our trip can not go there this time.:worship:

Great pictures, thank you that really helps.

Now, one more clearification question, are the items in the picture from the grab and go (milk, juice, fruit bowl and cupcakes) allowed as part of my CS meal (beverage and dessert)

You're welcome. We often go to the grab n go station to get our desserts and drinks after we have gotten our entrees. There are also refrigerated coolers near most of the stations that have the drinks in them.

Thank you again. We will be on DDP on our trip and I am trying to figure out how to not have to drink fountain soda, iced tea and water all week. So the knowledge that I can grab a bottled juice or milk is great. It also helps, if I do want to just drink water to know I can grab a bottled juice which I can then save for breakfast.

Second guessing and going crazy! we have CBR booked and arrive in 20 days! but now im thinking CSR may be a better choice for us (just 2 adults..)

help??:confused3

My husband & I just returned from CBR today & I think you will be fine there.
We are also childfree so understand your concerns. Realistically, any resort, even CSR has kids around. Our room was on an inner courtyard right near the smoking area/courtyard and even w/that we found our room to be quiet & had no problems w/noise. The decor and grounds are just beautiful! Very colorful, well landscaped & tropical feeling.

Shutters was nice - we had a lovely meal there our first evening. Only a 30 minute wait, not bad since we had no reservations. Passed the time at the pool bar (yes the table pagers go that far :) ) chatting w/the bartenders & other folks there.

I'd suggest if you plan pool time use the smaller village pools. The main pool along w/being very busy has music plus games & movies going on. We prefer to just enjoy the sun & a few drinks so the quiet pool was perfect for us.

Of all the mods CBR is one of our favorites (the other being French Quarter). Go, enjoy and make sure to allow time for a romantic stroll around the lake.

I just ordered from Garden Grocer. The refillable mugs were $14.95 each x4 for us.(way too much money) I was able to order water, soda, snacks, and some breakfast foods. We have the DP but it only covers 1 TS and one QS plus snack a day. Whatever we don't use I am taking with us on the Dream. I forgot to order milk so I will have to go to the grab and go and get that.

You can also get larger containers of milk at the gift shop in OPR. Sadly, at "Disney prices".:)

I would recommend going to the store at Old Port Royale and buying a half gallon of milk. There are half gallons in the cooler there. This past trip, we went offsite to buy groceries and I remember looking at the half gallons (after we went shopping) and thinking they were only a little higher than the price we paid at the grocery store.

We just booked CBR for our first visit here in January. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what the food is like at Shutters? I've looked the menus up online but wasnt sure if those were accurate anymore. Is the food good there? The menus didnt seem to have a lot of choices.

Whats the best building to get into in terms of walking distance to the main pool/buses/food courts?

For a while, the reviews of Shutters were pretty bad but, lately, the ones that I have read have all been good. We have stayed at the CBR numerous times but have never eaten at Shutters but are thinking about it for our next trip. Hopefully, you'll get answers to your questions and I can decide whether or not to eat there.

We have stayed in Jamaica three times and in Martinique three times. Jamaica 41 and 42 are some of the furthest buildings from OPR but the walking time was just 5 minutes from both.

As we fly to Disney from Canada, we have a long day of flying to get there so we usually arrive around 5 or 6 PM. Our first meal there is always at Shutters once we get to CBR. We've never been totally disappointed but can see why some people don't like it. For us after a long day traveling, it's a hot meal and a couple of glasses of wine, at Disney World. It has to be good, right!:)

Thanks for the replies! I'm going to search the dining reviews section for Shutters reviews.

We did not have a very good experience at CBR (there from 10/3 to 10/7 in Barbados 13). On our first night, we just dropped off our stuff and went to MK and Narcoissee's. We get back with leftovers, only to find that we don't have a refrigerator. They finally delivered one to the room on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that one didn't work -- which we learned on Wednesday when we went to put more leftovers in the fridge and discovered a delightful smell instead. What was worse, is that we returned from the park on Tuesday only to find that our room had not been cleaned. Bus service was slow in general. Wednesday also featured major transportation problems. We ate at CA Grill and had to take the bus to DTD to get back to the resort. We waited 40 minutes and still no bus. So I went up to one of the buses for another resort and asked where our bus was. They had to send a special bus to pick us up.

There were some positives. The pool and beaches were great. I particularly liked the kids only wading pool with the kiddie waterslides. The CM were generally very nice as well.

I just wanted to thank everyone for all of the great info in this thread. I've been lurking for a few months waiting to find out if our tentative trip will actually happen. I booked our flights this week for January 28th to Feb 4th, and we will be staying at CBR! I am requesting Jamaica, first floor, corner room.

It will be myself, dh, and our dd who will be 2 when we go. (her 2nd birthday is in a few weeks). This will be DDs first trip, dhs 5th trip, and my 11th or 12th...not sure.

I've only stayed at ASMu, ASMo, and POR, so I'm happy to be able to try a new resort.
:cool1:
I'm so excited to stay at CBR, and have been loving this thread! Thanks again!:)

I'm sorry to hear that you had some bad experience at the CBR. We once had a fridge that didn't work and had to call to have another one delivered to the room. It came in about 15 minutes.

The DTD buses are notoriously slow no matter which resort you stay in.

At least you did enjoy the beaches and pools at the CBR. Those are two of the things that keep drawing us back to the resort.

I think you made an excellent resort choice. Hopefully, the weather will be pretty enough that you can spend some time at the beach and your DD can enjoy the kids play area.

We are so there in May 2012. Just got to pick the area for a water view and play area for our five year old girl. :jumping1::welcome:

If you're using the DDP you'll find each member of your party will receive a refillable free - We just came back from CBR 3 weeks ago.

I am so sorry you had a challenging exprience. :sad2: Hope this does not keep you from returning in the future. :flower3: Please watch the CBR thread and hope it lifts your feelings for the years to come.

We are going to cbr in a few weeks planning on packing light and doing a load of laundry can you tell me how much the washers and dryers are to use. I'll be bringing change and detergent with me. Linda :)
