Caribbean Beach FAQ part V

I believe it's $2.00 per load wash and dry...I take a roll of quarters and my purex sheets and my book and I am set:)

Does anyone know off hand how much it is to wash and dry at the laundry facilities at CBR? I am trying to get my quarters in order for our trip and want to make sure I have enough!

TIA

As PP said...it is $2 per wash and dry cycle. There are change machines in the laundry rooms. Don't be surprised if you need more than one dryer cycle. We did some laundry late one night, and after putting the clothes in the dryer, we went back to the room for a bit. When I went back to get the clothes (it was around midnight), they weren't completely dry. So I threw in another $2 and went outside and laid in a hammock, figuring another 15 minutes should do it. Well...when I woke up three hours later, the clothes were completely dry. Those hammocks sure are relaxing.

Just switched from Pop to CBR for our June trip !!!!!!!!!

Can not wait to be back home ...

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

In all our visits to CBR I have never really seen live bands at the food court (we love PORFQ because of Elliot and his one man band.)
Does anyone know if there is certain nights the live bands play at CBR ???
Thanks ...

I asked this question to the Disney Mom's Panel and was told that they don't have a live band anymore. :guilty:

We just returned home today from our 8 day trip. We loved CBR, they kids and us adults loved the pool and slide. Door court was great never a long wait.

The only thing we were disappointed in was Shutter. We did not like the food at all, we all thought the food court food was better quality. Thankfully we only ate the once.

Our room was great. It was a standard room in Aruba 51, but was positioned in a way that is had a great water view.

Kids had fun looking at the turtles, lizards, bunnies, squirrels.

I will post pics as soon as I upload them from my camera.

Just returned from a PERFECT vacation at WDW. ( April 10- April 16)

I had requested Martinique but received Trinidad North Room 3207. It was a nice change. Very close to the beach, ice machine and not too far from the parking lot. DH smokes and it was only 2 corridors from the smoking area.
Our room was clean and mousekeeping came everyday and did a great job.

This was our third time at CBR and it just keeps getting better.

We only used the buses once. We missed the Epcot bus by about 1 minute, and only needed to wait 10 minutes for the next bus.

The food court for us is GREAT! I just love the turkey BLT. I was able to exchange my last CS for 3 snacks.

Everyone and everything was great at the resort.

I used the the laundry room once. I waited too long to do laundry and had 4 loads to do and still 3 more days of vacation. Remember to take your room key or you will be with a ton of laundry and need to walk back to DH who is at the pool, hoping that no one will take your clothes in your absence.

It was a bit busy, but manageable. I would like to gently remind people that if it is busy at the pool, please be courteous and not save chairs for people who are going to use them. I would see a sea of taken chairs by towels.

Stayed at POR Alligator Bayou twice and LOVE LOVE that resort !!
Wanted to try a different one (mod, of course)
Sorry, we cannot justify the prices of a Deluxe, just crazy IMO

Anywhos....CBR looks so nice, hopefully the rooms aren't really dingy and old

Arriving Sept 29th for 8 Nights !! Longest WDW stay ever !!

SILLY QUESTION FOR CBR EXPERTS:
I Have GOT to have my coffee in the morning, love my cup o' java joe

HOWEVER, I HAVE to have my flavored coffee creams, ya' know the ones
Is there any at CBR food court ??? Can you purchase at the gift shop ???
We are flying so I cannot bring with me
HELP !!! Oh, and not renting a car....Just curious what CBR has

Now My Cute DD wants to pick out Smilie Dudes:
:surfweb::laundy::coffee::grouphug::hourglass:beach::drive:pixiedust::boat::genie::yo-yo:

I've never seen flavored creamers on site, but HIGHLY recommend Garden Grocer. They are outstanding and the resort will keep your things in the fridge for you until you pick them up.

Glad to hear that both of you had great stays at the CBR. I am counting down the days until I'm back at the resort myself.

Just want to second the idea of Garden Grocer. Among the many things we ordered were a bottle of CoffeMate French Vanilla creamer.

You are so lucky!!! We are staying at POP for the first time-(my daughter is coming and that is all she can afford) but CBR is our favorite!!! We will be arriving 1 day earlier than planned so I made that night at CBR. At least I get 1 day there- and we are staying at the resort all day so we can enjoy it!!!!

Hoo boy, I'm getting last minute jitters- which I know sounds ridiculous for someone about to visit the World in a little over a week... but compounded with excitement/anxiety of my wedding I'm going a little nuts!

The only thing I'm really anxious about is whether or not to use the on-line check in for CBR. My DH-to-be wants to go that route and would like to do it a week before we're booked (we check in on May 1 and arrive mid-afteroon). We booked a preferred room with a king bed as this will be our Disney Honeymoon, so I'm not sure what we could possibly make additional requests during on-line check in since that probably already narrows down the possibilities of where our room will be located. I've read a lot of everyone's posts regarding the on-line check in vs. regular check in and I still can't really decide if one would be better for us (first-timers for all intents and purposes) than the other. I've also read all the horror stories of mildew, mold, broken blinds, etc. etc. and am trying my best to take those with a grain of salt since I'm sure it would take more than that to ruin our honeymoon.

If anyone has any small bits of wisdom for us regarding the on-line check in and whether it will affect our booking a preferred room w/ king bed (and where that most likely would be)... this anxious Disney Bride-to-be would love it! :)

Unless they changed it from laast year...online check-in really doesn't afford you the opportunity to add much in the way of requests. I think you can request 1st floor, a fridge (which you'll already have), and one or two other things. If you're arriving mid-afternoon, it may be pretty busy at check-in so it could save you some time. There's probably not a huge number of preferred rooms with king beds, so I doubt there's a lot of flexibility there - whether you do online ckeck-in or not.

Wow this thread is so helpful! Next month will be my first stay at CBR and this thread has made me feel like I'm already there!

Question - are the villiage pools really open until midnight?

I think its so much nicer checking in when you get there. They are GREAT about taking requests and about switching things around if you r unhappy. My bet is REGULAR CHECK IN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We've done online checkin twice at CBR. First time, I called to add requests and didn't add anything additional during the check-in process. (FWIW, there aren't many options there anyways) We got our exact request the first time around. On our second visit, we did the same, but checked in when the resort was near 100% so nothing was granted. No problem considering the lack of room options. However, they were still more than willing to work with us on it at check-in! I say go for it on the online check-in. You'll have a shorter wait and can always check your options if you don't get what you want. No clue how it will affect the king request in particular though.

Have fun & Congrats!

We booked a preferred room with a king bed as this will be our Disney Honeymoon
I hate to break it to you, but you didn't book a preferred location room with a king bed. You booked one or the other and made a request for the other. Either you booked a preferred room and REQUESTED a king bed, or you booked a king bed room and REQUESTED preferred location. There isn't a booking category that combines the two. There is a "preferred room" category. There is a "king bed" category. But there is no "preferred room with king bed" category available.

So, you only guaranteed one of those, and the other is merely a request. I hate to share this news with you, but better for you to find out now than when you get there. For this time of year, however, I don't think you'll have a lot of difficulty getting wither request granted.

Preferred location rooms are located in 6 of the 33 guest room buildings: Martinique 24-25-26 and Trinidad North 31-32-33. Rooms with king beds are sprinkled througout the resort, and there is no such thing as a guest building that has no king bed rooms (except for the Pirate rooms, which comprise all of Trinidad South).

Good luck and congratulations!

My family is headed to Carribean Beach in July for a free dining trip!!! My brother is taking his family as well and the 3 kids going have no idea and won't until we leave for the airport :rotfl2:

We have only stayed there once before in 2004 for our honeymoon, so it will be nice to be back. We normally stick with the values, but decided to splurge this time :cool1:

How far out should I make a request regarding location? I did book a standard room. On our honeymoon we were in Aruba and loved the location. We were thinking of Aruba or Martinique. Any suggestions are appreciated! :confused3

Thanks!!!

Down to 2 weeks until we arrive - can't believe it!

Has anyone had any luck with receiving a corner room if requested? We got one by chance a couple of years back, and it was great for my daughter's pack-n-play. We're taking our 8 month old son down for his first trip and hoping to get the same room set up.
