We've booked a room at CBR for December and was told by our planner that the beds are double size. My family likes (4 of us) our space when sleeping and was thinking of sending down (via UPS) an air mattress. Is there enough room in the CBR to lay out a decent size air mattress? Thanks.

:wizard: We are currently booked at the POR in August but have just heard about the rehabs. We are thinking of switching to CBR. We stayed there in 2007 and liked it but thought the rooms were really getting tired looking. Beside the pool, has CBR undergone any refurbs since 2007?

Every single room was completely refurbed, I believe it was during the course of 2008.

All of Trinidad South was rebranded as Pirate theme rooms that cost more per night.

All fo the rest of the rooms got a very slight Nemo motif ... a few characters here and there on the bedspreads and wall borders.

But yes, completely and 100% refurbed in 2008. I'm pretty sure it was 2008 and not 2009.

We've used a twin sized air mattress at CBR several times, and there was plenty of room.

We feel the same way. We shipped down 2 twin size air mattresses. We put one between the beds, the other was in front of the connecting room door. We put them up against a wall everymorning before we left for the parks. It worked perfectly for us. Everyone had their own bed, we slept great and had the best time!!!

We are trying POR / POFQ this year because we want the new queen size beds. I wish they had put them in CBR, if they had, we'd be there. Its our favorite resort.

I asked this question to the Disney Mom's Panel and this was the answer I got:

Q: I've read that there is a live band that plays sometimes at Caribbean Beach Resort. Is there a schedule of when they are playing?

A: Hello!

OK...you have asked a very good question!!! I talked to several Cast Members about your question, and they all tell me there is no longer a live band playing at Caribbean Beach Resort. However, I will say that you are going to LOVE staying and playing at Caribbean Beach Resort!!! This resort is SO much fun!

If you have other question, please let me know!

Have a MAGICAL day!

Wes H., TX

Thats kind of funny. I don't think they had a clue what you were asking. and made up some answer

Well Calling today to upgrade to CBR. I think last year was are last stay at a value. We tried pop twice and it was ok but we are going to stick with what works. We pefer the mods and we are going for 10 days so we need the little bit of extra room.

I will be reading this thread as CBR is the only moderate we haven't stayed at. We are just getting a standard room. Which section is the best to ask for it don't really need to be a certain building but which island is close to the food court and pool? We are doing the QSDP so we will be using the food court a bit.
Thanks

We've stayed in Jamaica twice and our walk to Old Port Royale was about 5 minutes at a leisurely pace. We have also stayed in a non-preferred building in Martinique and the walk was about the same length. The landscaping at the resort is so beautiful that it will make your walking time seem even less.

Thanks I'm going to call this Afternoon when the girls go down for naps. Are you doing a split stay between POR and CBR? I thought of doing this but not sure I want to pack up and leave.

Yes, this is our first time trying another moderate and a split stay. The free dining promo didn't start until May 27th so we were going to have to book a separate room only reservation for our first two nights. We have always wondered about staying at another moderate but are afraid that we wouldn't like it and would spend our entire vacation wishing we were back at the CBR. We figured we could stay at POR the first two days to get a "feel" for the resort befores switching back to our beloved CBR.

You all have me so excited!! We switched from ASMu to CBR this weekend. I know my DD will love the pools and DH and I will love the theme. This really does seem like the perfect resort for us. I hope we love it. I've requested the Martinique village, Aruba 51, or Jamaica 45. Hopefully we'll get on of them!

I was the furthest possible building from the bridge in Aruba and the walk was about 10 minutes. So any other building the walk would have been less. And what a lovely walk! Plus, I was literally steps away from the bus stop, so that was a definite plus.

Thanks it is official we are at CBR. I'm really excited we are back to a moderate resort. We gave the values a try and we really just miss the moderate resorts. I don't think we will be back to a value. We can say we gave them a try.

That is a good way to try it out. We do love the po resorts. But we have wanted to try CBR for a while now.

Do they do Campfire Smores at CBR? They have it at POR and I know my DD would love it.

We are staying at CBR for our first family visit to WDW. We have decided to drive and was wondering about the parking. We were originally booked at POFQ until my DH watched the Disney Vacation DVD and insisted on having a pirate room. So, I know that we will be in Trinidad South. I was wondering how close are you able to park to the rooms over there? We'll probably be using our car for the majority of our transportation during our stay.

You will be able to park really close to the building that you're in...at least we have the last two times that we stayed in a pirate room.

Can someone tell me how much the pirate cruise is? Any info on it? We are going for 10 days and have a free day. What ages do you need to be? I think my girls would love this.
