Caribbean Beach FAQ part V

We are upgrading to a moderate. I was just a toss up between POFQ and CBR. I think we are going with CBR. The zero entry pool will be great for the kids. Plus we are huge Pirates of the Carribean fans. We won't be getting a pirate room unless Free dining comes out for October. We are booked the last week of September right now at pop under kids free promo.

If I just request Jamicia are all the buildings fairly close to the pool and food court? We are quite cabable of walking but right now we are on the QSDP and will be using the food court quite a bit. We have stayed at SSR all the way towards the DTD area and the was a hike to the front everyday but managable.

We stayed at CBR for 10 days in Dec. 2008. We were in Martinique 25, facing the lagoon and IMO it was the best location in the place. Right beside the food court, 2 mins to the pool, 2 mins to the bus stop, and the beach out front has a fantastic view of the epcot fireworks every night!!

Thank you so much!!! That sounds EXACTLY like the room I want!! (I hadn't even thought about the EPCOT fireworks - that's even better!) Yay!! I think I'm getting more excited about this 1 night than I am for the rest of our stay!

So, anyway...

I think I'm going to book preferred & request Martinque #25, waterview.

Does that sound right?

Or, should I request either Martinique #25 or #26 (just to double my chances of getting one or the other)? Because, when I look at the map, #26 looks like it would be okay too?

24, 25 , or 26 would be great. 25 water view is just the best if you can get it.

CBR is my favorite resort our family did stay in CBR in Nov 18, 1988 and Now this is our second time in CBR!

To saskdw, we were just there. Got the iced tea once, and I'm thinking the only unsweetened iced tea was a green tea. Can't remember for sure.

Does CBR now have RAC for Southwest? We have friends going in August and they really liked this feature.

The RAC is located in the Custom House. We just used it for SWA last Thurs. Sad day when you have to leave Disney World!

Can anyone give some insight to the transportation at CBR? We are having our very first stay at a Mod in August and of course it's CBR! We have heard good and not so good things about CBR's Transportation to and from the Parks! I'm just curious if some can tell their experiences with WDW Transportation at CBR!
We are in a Preferred room and from reading this thread I'm thinking I want to request Martinque #25 Can anyone tell me if this is my best bet for Being close to the Main pool and Custom House and Bus Transportaton? MY DD will be having major knee surgery apprx a month or so before we go and I would like to be as close as possible to everything so we don't have long walks as I don't know how she will be getting around then.

We've stayed at CBR 3 times and just booked our 4th stay there - we've always depended on the buses and have never been disappointed! There's a bus stop at every village, so you'll be close to a bus stop no matter where you stay. To be close to the Main Pool and Bus Stop, try Martinique 26 -- just as close to the Main pool, but a little closer to a bus stop.... however, no matter where you are, you won't be far from a bus stop.

As for the Custom House, you only use that to check in and check out, so most people don't have much need to be close to it.

i stayed at cbr last year with a knee injury. i reserved a room with a roll in shower as it was difficult and painful to lift my leg over the tub. i also rented an evc from an outside company for my whole stay. that way i could enjoy th e parks with my family without any pain or hassle.

they put me in martinique 26 right next to the main building , pool, transportation and food court. if you booked through a travel agent please have them call 407-939-7670. with this number either you or a travel agent can place guaranteed room requests due to a medical condition or temporary /permanent disability. through this line you can request first floor (no stairs) and state on the reservation that you need to be as close to the main building as possible. if you have any questions feel free to pm me as i would be more than happy to help! have a wonderful vacation. you will really like cbr as we all did !!!

the transportation there was great. we waited no longer than 10 minutes to go anywhere. i hope my post helps you in some way !

Can anyone give me an idea how long it takes to get from CBR to the parks using Disneys buses? mainly DHS since it looks so close.
