Arrived home this morning at 1:00 a.m. from our 6th stay at the CBR. I'll be doing a full detailed review very soon but wanted to post that our stay was just as wonderful as the other five. :hippie:

I tried Googling it but can't seem to find a straight answer. Is CBR still taking room requests? If they are, what is the best method?

Phone? Fax? (What are the #'s?)

How far in advance do I phone or fax the request in?

My travel agent says she does it every year but every year we arrive, there's been no room request noted so I want to make sure it gets done this time if it's still an available option.

I know nothing is guaranteed but it's still worth a try. Thanks in advance!

Glad you had another wonderful visit! Can't wait to see your photos -- they're always so great, Lisa!! :cool1:

We also do breakfast in our room.
We will be in WDW during the hot, humid, rainy season ...June/July 2012.

Shoud we bring a small fold-up cooler (like lunch box size) to bring the cold milk back to our room ?
What if we take an internal bus for 10 minutes or walk 10 minutes back to our CBR room ?
In 90 degree temps I do not want the milk to spoil.
Do you think the small cooler is a good idea ?

I do not think that milk will spoil/curdle in 10 minutes! Sometimes, our trip home is longer than 10 minutes and while it's not as hot in Michigan, necessarily, our car can get super toasty quickly and we've never had an issue!

Did you plan on spending that day @ AKL? Or in the parks?

If in the parks, you should check, from what I've heard they will move your bags for you. Just get up & check out from CBR that morning. Bell services will take your bags & handle getting them to AKL. You
can go to the parks & then head
over to AKL at the end of your day
& check in there. That way you
don't spend precious park time
hauling your stuff over there.

Thx! We will be in the parks so I'll definitely check on that option.

I just phone the reservations number and ask them to add the room request to our reservation. Never had a problem with it not showing up on check-in.:)

I sure hated to leave those white sand beaches and come home to hot and dry Louisiana. :guilty: Hopefully, I can start organizing my pictures today and post the ones that I took of the resort.

Backtracking through posts, I just had to add this --

Look at the menus Safetymom referred to in this link -- under "Entree/Main Course" the Royale Sandwich is amazing! I got that several times during our last visit.... :thumbsup2

catbertdave99: An aside here, but I checked the menu for the Royale Sandwich but no description was included. Would you please give a description of this sandwich. Trying to decide if everyone will be able to find something here they like. No easy feat to be sure... Thanks! :)

I had to go back to my trip report but I had the description in there:
-- lots of slices of each of three types of meat
-- cheese
-- lettuce
-- tomato
-- special sauce
-- all on a wonderful seasoned roll

Makes me hungry just thinking about it!! :thumbsup2

Just got back from my first stay at CBR. I will post photos and do a trip report soon as I can. But want to quickly mention how much I enjoyed the resort. My first stay at a moderate (I've stayed at Poly, Beach Club, Old Key West, and Animal Kingdom Lodge in the past). I got a lot of great tips from this thread and now hope that I can help others planning their first stay at CBR.

To quickly summarize -
no issues with the bus service
great service from mousekeeping
beautiful (nemo - standard) room
great village pool (aruba)
surprisingly delicious dinners at old port royal food court (salmon, roast turkey, and chicken alfredo)
terrific view of Epcot fireworks from a hammock on Martinique's beach
fun theme and relaxing landscaping

only negative was that the main pool was so crowded we never got to enjoy it. people were saving chairs at 6:45am!!! and the water was always so packed - it resembled the surf pool at typhoon lagoon on a hot afternoon.

Poly lover here but booked CBR for the pirate room for step sons first visit! Will be at CBR next Sat! Leaving early the morning before to check into Hilton DTD to have lunch at PH, enjoy DQ and shopping, grab EOS to take back to Hilton and enjoy them at the pool, we will check into CBR around 730 Sat morning!! I have CM booked for dinner that night, seems like the perfect boys first visit! Too bad we leave Sun around 1130 am.. But we will be back to WDW in Sept and for another weekend trip for MVMCP in Nov!

Looking fwd to seeing what CBR is like since its our first visit there..

Pop warner is 2nd weed of dec. cheerleading world end of march. Any big events end of Jan to worry about:grouphug:
There were cheerleaders at CBR this year at the end of January into the first week of February. We didn't really have any trouble with them. We'd see them in the pool late in the evening, and small groups of them on the buses, but that's about it. We did hear them cheering across the lake (we were in Martinique) early one morning. I guess if you were staying over there it might have been annoying, but from where we were it wasn't a big deal, and it was only that one morning we noticed them practicing. :goodvibes

In the parks there were plenty of Brazilian tour groups, but I didn't notice any at the resort. We didn't have any problems with them either.

What is Pop warner?

Do a search here on the DIS and you will find lots of threads about them. :rotfl: Basically it's a national cheerleading/football championships held every year the first full week of Dec. The can be an absolute nightmare. I've been there twice during that time. The first time I was there they were at the All Stars and PORS, with the overflow going to POFQ. We were at POFQ and swore we'd never go back during that week. We didn't notice the football players, but the cheerleaders were totally out of control and their parents and so called chaperones were acting like a bunch of drunk sailors on leave. By the end of the week the employees were calling in and we saw a couple in tears. They made the Brazillian tour groups look well behaved. This past Dec due to scheduling problems at work I had to go back that same week again. I did a split stay at CSR and YC and never even noticed they were there. You probably won't even notice them in the parks, but if you're at the same resort they are, it can be a toss up. Some people say they are loud, but not a problem. Others have nightmare stories about them (fighting in the food court, throwing food and cutlery everywhere in the food court, taking over the pools and hot tubs, running up and down the halls all night banging on doors, giving CMs a really hard time, knocking little kids down, forcing themselves in front of everybody to get on the buses, practicing cheers in the early morning hours and late at night, etc). What's bad is the Disney CMs are totally overwhelmed by them and when you complain the general response is "We know, but what can we do?". I know when we complained about them at POFQ, the CM's only response was "We know they're out of control and will see what we can do, but don't expect much. There's just too many of them. There's about 40 complaints ahead of yours". When I suggested they talk to the parents and chaperones, she rolled her eyes and said the biggest complaints were about the parents and chaperones.
