Forgive me, I didn't check to see if this was already asked on this thread.....I saw on another thread that someone said the moderates are getting queen sized beds.

Does anyone know if it's true, and do you know when CBR will get theirs?

Thanks

I know the Coronado springs already has them...and from what I can remember during the podcast safetymom had mentioned (please correct me if I am wrong) that the new regal rooms at the Port Orleans resorts were getting them so I believe it may be only a matter of time. Although I would think that since the CBR rooms have been updated fairly recently that Disney would want to get their use out of the full sized linens before they started making upgrades.

Yeah, that's what I was concerned about too. They may want to keep their new bedding for awhile.

For us, sharing a small bed during vacation is the only not so great thing about vacation. I made my reservation for a preferred location, but I tried to reserve a King room with a rollaway too. But they would not let me reserve all 3 options. I guess I have to reserve the preferred location....and then they let me put the king bed and rollaway as requests.

We are going in October.

Thank you, Safetymom! Here's one of my favorite views while having breakfast and a refillable mug of coffee outside Old Port Royale!

ahhhhhhhh.... cant wait for that view....

never thought of bringing cereal and disposable bowls, great tip think I will do that on the next trip down since not everyone is big into breakfast that Im travelling with.:thumbsup2

CBR was our 2nd moderate choice before picking POFQ as our 1st.
reason - the queen beds and small size of the resort.
BUT....
CBR is still a favorite.

We also do breakfast in our room.
We will be in WDW during the hot, humid, rainy season ...June/July 2012.

Shoud we bring a small fold-up cooler (like lunch box size) to bring the cold milk back to our room ?
What if we take an internal bus for 10 minutes or walk 10 minutes back to our CBR room ?
In 90 degree temps I do not want the milk to spoil.
Do you think the small cooler is a good idea ?

Also - we have adult/teen kids - DS age 20 and DD age 17.
CBR has the biggest rooms - same size as WL, so should we switch to CBR for the ages of our kids ?Our DS thinks the POFQ pool is lame. He saw a picture of the slide:sad2:, he was not happy with that.

Why not order milk (and the cereal and bowls/spoons, etc.) from gardengrocer.com and leave it in the fridge in your room?

Does garden Grocer come to your building - knock on your door ?
Or do you meet them at the front desk area ?

They leave your order with bell services. They have a fridge so no worries there. Bell services then deliver the groceries to you at your room.:)

Hi! Staying at CBR a couple nights in August before moving to AKL. If I want to take a taxi the day we switch resorts I assume they only would be at the custom house. Is that correct? Excited about trying this resort out for the first time! Thanks for the great info in thus thread.

I have heard rumors that the beds in the revamped pirate rooms are uncomfortable. I'm going to be staying in a pirate themed room later this month and this worries me. My parents have bad backs and I know they won't be happy if they can't sleep. So if anyone has stayed in the pirate rooms, could you please share what you thought about the beds.

No, actually if you call the front desk, they can give you the number for the taxi (should be Mears' owned company) and when you call for a pick-up (most likely will already be on property), they will pick you up at the loop found in the back parking lot of your village! Makes it way easier than going to the Custom's House first. Hope that helps~

Wonderful! That helps a lot and washes away my one hesitation about the short stay at CBR. So looking forward to it!

Did you plan on spending that day @ AKL? Or in the parks?

If in the parks, you should check, from what I've heard they will move your bags for you. Just get up & check out from CBR that morning. Bell services will take your bags & handle getting them to AKL. You can go to the parks & then head over to AKL at the end of your day & check in there. That way you don't spend precious park time hauling your stuff over there.
