Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

Thanks for all the information on good rooms to request. We are just trying to avoid being too far from the main building and don't want to be facing the parking lots. I think we will request one of the Jamaica buildings.

We can't wait. We will be arriving on Sept 27th for our grand gathering! :)

Just keep in mind that the rooms don't look directly onto the parking lot. There is so much vegatation that even when walking around it is hard to see the cars in the parking lot.

I wanted to make a request during online check-in, but it only gave me the option to reserve a fridge, or rent a pac n play. I thought I read somewhere that you can enter special requests. Does anyone know how to do this? TIA

Thanks anyway, but as soon as I posted this, I finally found my answer,

This is what I posted on another thread. Try it and let me know if it works. When I did it, I made the request BEFORE I did the 10 day online check-in though.

"I went to www.disneyworld.com. On the upper righthand corner is a tab marked "My Disney Vacation". I logged in and there was an area to type in any special requests. If you go further down, past the 10 day online check in, there's a section called: "Retrieve Your Reservation". I believe that is where I made the room requests. It's hard for me to do now, because my reservation number is obselete since I already took my trip."

Thanks, that's what I've done in the past, but couldn't find anywhere to do it today. I've looked & looked, so it either can't be done, or I'm looking past it :confused3. I guess I'll call tomorrow to add my request & then do online check-in. I have asthma & allergies, so I probably need to speak to someone about that anyway.

I'm in the "middle" stages of planning a family trip to WDW in March 2010 and we are planning to stay at the CBR. The plan is to stay in a Pirate themed, standard view room. Any suggestions as to which building I should suggest? I was thinking requesting a corner room to get an extra window, but I can live without the extra window if there is something better to request.

On the off chance all of the standard view, Pirate rooms are booked when I make my reservations (which will hopefully be in the next couple of weeks), I was thinking to request a standard view room in Barbados or Martinique. Any suggestions for these?

Thanks

Hi all! Quick question for all you CBR lovers!

I just completed the online check-in (yay!). When I clicked on special requests, there were 2 boxes I could check. One was for a crib and the other was for a fridge (for a fee). I thought a fridge is included for free??? Thanks for any insight!!!

There are refrigerators in every CBR room. I think those options are available no matter which resort you are staying in....even those already with fridges.

You're welcome! We love the CBR so much and hope that you will too. Be sure to take lots of pictures. I often say that pictures and trip reports are what keep me sane until my next Disney vacation.

CBR is an amazingly quiet and lush resort. We had a room facing the parking lot in 2007. Cannot recall hearing one car, seeing one set of headlights or even a peep from our neighbors. That room is also right around the corner from the quiet pool, we never had an issue with pool noise either.

We stayed Jamaica this last trip, it was a really nice walk across the bridge to OPR. Also Jamaica is sometimes the first bus stop. Other times Martinique is the first stop.

We will be there March 9-16. ;)

After to many where are we going to stay questions in my head. We are staying at CBR. We were going to do a ASMU suite or 2 rooms at a value. But we would rather have the Regular dining plan and save myself some extra money. Thanks for all the help.

I've spent some time reading through the posts for our trip in 9 days!! I have a few questions.. they are more related to the overall trip then CBR specifically but I'm sure someone can answer...

Does the refillable mug include any juices? We have a 16 month old and I am going to pack her Gerber juice but I will water down regular apple juice if its available..

Can you buy a half gallon or gallon of milk anywhere at CBR? If so, do they have whole milk?

Has anyone ever requested a late check out? If so, what time were you given until.

After check in how do you get to your room? Do you just walk from Custom House?

Thanks!

Can you buy a half gallon or gallon of milk anywhere at CBR? If so, do they have whole milk? not sure -- I know they have beverages for sale in the store, but not sure what size containers. Maybe they have juice that you could buy there? I know you can buy juice in smaller containers (apple and orange) from the food court, but don't know, maybe in the store too?

Has anyone ever requested a late check out? If so, what time were you given until. did late check out last year, at ASMo, and we were required to pay a full night's fee. We were checking out at 4 p.m. Also thought it was odd that it was actually left up to housekeeping whether we could check out late or not.

After check in how do you get to your room? Do you just walk from Custom House? You can either walk, or there is an internal shuttle that runs continuously. You could take your carryons and just hop on the shuttle.

Thanks!

Hope this helped! I'm sure someone will come around and have an answer for the milk/juice question.

Thanks!

You can buy milk by the 1/2 gallon in the resort store. I would not swear, but am fairly certain you can get whole milk. Not sure about the juices, but you can definately get bottled juice in the food court.

This is how it works at all non-DVC Disney resorts (the DVC resorts don't allow late check-outs).

Check-out time is 11 a.m. The Housekeeping department decides if a late check-out is permissible. WHy Housekeeping? Because they are the only ones who know how long it will take to turn around rooms from unclean to ready.

You can't really request it until that morning. It's possible you could get an answer the night before, but doubtful ... they don't know what times people will be checking-out, so they can't know a day in advance if they'll have enough rooms ready for the next day's check-ins.

Anyway, you can call that morning. IF you are granted a late check-out, here's the fee schedule:

Up until 1:00 p.m. -- no charge

1:01 p.m. -3:00 p.m. -- 50% of daily rack rate

after 3:00 p.m. -- 100% of daily rack rate
