Does anyone here know if leaving the cabinet door open in the frig area helps the contents get ANY cooler? That's the only MINOR thing we noticed today. Our stuff wasn't cold after we got back after 12+ hrs.

Yes, if you leave the cabinet door open - the frig will stay cooler. We had the same issue and that helped a lot!

I'm HERE now!!! :cool1: only a little over 24 hrs but, after a DME error, I must say that bell services really picked up the ball and helped to correct the luggage error! We walked into our room which had 2 towel swans and, what we call a boo-boo buddy, wrapped around the pen. Awesome, and I left a mousekeeping tip that 1st night (this morning) and told them so. (they took them away tho :confused3) I believe we have a very observant mousekeeper tho - she saw the blow up mattress, deflated but, she left another blanket. :thumbsup2 Trouble is, it really IS deflated! The plug and cap aren't in the box!!! :scared1: Re: Bell Services, again, we had a Garden Grocer delivery and they delivered to Bell Services?? :confused3 Anyway, we called BS again and they were already getting our groceries ready for delivery - they said within 20 minutes! I'm pretty sure it was less. :thumbsup2 After ALL that, getting to our room about 1AM, and getting our lost luggage by about 1:30 AM and, GG delivering to BS at 8:30 and BS delivering ASAP, WE MADE A 10:45 ADR at Wilderness Lodge Whispering Canyon! I was Magically surprised to start our first Full day on such great service!

Loving it all tho, especially resort delivery of purchases! And, no offense, shorter bus lines than the values. Sorry. :scared1: More later!

Thanks for checking in!

Sorry about your lost luggage! :scared1: That must have been scary. So glad that bell services was able to help you out.

Yes, definitely leave the door open to the refrigerator. We would leave it open when we weren't in the room and we never had any frig trouble.

Have a great time and be sure to take lots of pictures!! :thumbsup2:cool1:

I know this is not the place to post this question, but I know someone here will have the answer and since I already sub to this thread it will make my life easier - and I am sure will help others as well.

I am trying to get a rough draft of prices for tips. I just need to know what is the tax on food? We've been looking over the menus and now to get a guesstimate for tip I need to factor in the tax.

Any help is greatly appreciated - and again, sorry for posting :offtopic:

Just so you know, you don't tip on tax. You tip on the price before tax.

I am staying at the CBR in April and I came across this very informative FAQ post. Just wanted to thank you!!:worship:

Another question. Each village has a quiet pool right? So what is defined as quiet? Just not open as late, or do you really have to be quiet. Can kids go in? And can you get a room poolside?

Hey Jen,

I think they just call them the quiet pools because they aren't the main pool. Kids can definitely go in the village quiet pools. We had a room in Martinique that was right beside the pool. Took about 15 steps to get to the pool.

Thanks. I did get your email, but haven;t had a chance to read through it yet. Thanks!

Most times we walk past a quiet pool at CBR they are completely empty or have 1-2 families there at the most! :goodvibes Guess that's where they get the name - "quiet pool"

Just back on Saturday, after an 8 night stay. Our 2nd stay at CBR. A couple of comments. Upon checkin we were given 2 separate rooms. Not connected as requested and not even adjoining, but several doors from each other. I inquired about moving the next day and was given connecting rooms in a different bldg, but this did require us packing up and not having a room until after 5pm. My son and his friend are adults so it was not ideal, but ok. I don't know what would have happend if I had only small children with me and "really needed" connecting rooms. Some how they lost our luggage in the room transfer. It took them 3 hrs to find it. There was no music playing on the island as I remembered it last year. No one could tell me why. I hope it is not gone forever. We enjoyed our stay. A couple of fast pass surprises by cast members and a bus driver who gave us a direct "taxi" to the Beach club on an empty bus to save us time and walking. CBR is still our favorite and we will return again.

Thanks tink & Mom, we left it open all day today. It helped, but not cold-cold just yet. It's fine tho. ;) Nothing's WRONG in WDW, right?!?! :goodvibes

We just booked our trip for March 13-20 :yay:and wanted to ask a few questions. First off regarding size, how does it compare to CSR. Similar to the posts on here it seemed like everyone complained about how big and spread out it was but it really wasn't that big of a deal. Also does anyone know what the crowds are like this time of year. Last year we went easter week which is suppose to be bad but we really didn't think it was.

They are very similar in size. Actually with the way they are laid out it seems further from the Ranchos section of CSR to the food court than it does from the Trinidad South section of CBR to OPR. Both walks are under 10 minutes though. Not a big deal! And of course both resorts have much closer sections. The main difference is that you can book a preferred room at CBR (for a little extra $) and be guaranteed a room close to everything. You can't book a preferred room at CSR, so it's just up to chance there. We have stayed in standard rooms at both and were under 5 minutes from everything.

Sorry, never been in March, can't help you there.

Still here - loving it!

Conservation question tho - they have those placards about conserving water, reducing detergent re: towels and, our mousekeeper keeps taking/replacing our towels everyday. Why do I bother following instructions if they're just going to give us new towels everyday? :confused3 Just curious.

Is there a microwave in the food Court area. DD loves microwave popcorn and would like to bring some for snacks

We just got back last night from our 8 day stay at CBR in the pirate rooms. Sorry, I really didn't take a lot of pics - but there are plenty here on this site - and nothing has changed. The rooms were pretty cool - sadly on my crazy Disney schedule, we only spent about 20 minutes in the Pirate pool and 20 minutes in the quiet pool.

When you are the last guest to check in after midnight, there is nothing magical about check in....we got building 39 in Trinidad South, the farthest back on the property, parking lot view, but still not bad. The minute they finally called for someone to come get our luggage for us, they immideately shut everything down - they were ready to go home.

I wore a GPS tracker the whole trip to see how far I had walked - it was exactly 1/2 mile from Trinidad South to Old Port Royal on the water side. We walked it about three/ four times. It took a long time for the internal bus to get around the resort to OPR, but you could hop on ANY bus from OPR and get off at Trinidad South in 2 stops.

Bus service really was great, I usually stay value and the difference in busses is AMAZING!

We had drinks delivered from Garden Grocer and kept them in the fridge which was great. I had a lot of water left though at the end. There is NO way a refillable mug would have been worth it with a one mile walk to get a drink. I spent $55 to get water, cokes and gatorade delivered, we had a ton left, drinks whenever we wanted them, carried a small ice chest into the parks every day on the stroller and never bought a drink in the park except what came with meals at free dining.

Food court food was not that bad, and we were on Free Dining. I do however think that the dessert and grab and go selections are getting worse. There was lots of great cut fruit healthy choices, but the desserts are just sad, and the pastry case is a few plain muffins, cookies and some sad cupcakes that look like they came from the BUY N Large.

We did eat our last Table Service at Shutters and that was a good meal.

I would stay here again - probably a regular room. I like change though too and with the right room rate would go deluxe.

I hope everyone enjoys their stays at CBR too - overall it was a great experience,

Are quiet pools quiet at night too?

Not sure exactly what you mean by night, but we have been in the Jamaica pool in the evening around 7-8 and had it all to ourselves. We aren't really late night people, so I can't really say beyond that. Other than we have never had any trouble with noise coming from them when we are sleeping.
