I admit I haven't read all 121 pages, but I've never seen this question asked on the boards before about any resort...

Can you open the window at CBR? I am going in December and since it probably won't be hot and humid I will want to open the window to let some fresh air in.

If it can be opened, about how far? A couple inches? Wider?

Thanks!

OK, so I checked on the Dining board and the answer (by people who have actually done it) is: Yes, you can carry out a large pizza from Old Port Royale with 2 drinks and 2 desserts for 2 CS credits! I think this will make a great backup plan in case my DS2 and DS5 wear out and need a night in! :goodvibes

I was trying to hold out for F&W 2010 but I just can't! I'm looking into a March/April trip, back at CBR which has become our new favorite! :yay:

I am a big fan also. We have stayed several times at CBR and have found it to be a great place to relax with the Disney atmosphere and without all the hustle and bustle.

We definitely agree! We stayed there in June for the first time and we fell in love. I was admittedly a little nervous with all the talk of how huge it is, but when we arrived I walked from the Custom House to OPR and took the long way (read:toured the entire parking lot) because I just winged it without a map or anything and it only took me 19 minutes. We got our requested building of Jamaica 45, ground floor room and the walk was under 5 minutes to OPR, but it seemed so much faster because the grounds are so beautiful. This is our new home! :cloud9:

We try to stay in Jamaca 44 if we can on the ground floor at an end so the little area with the umbrella tables are right outside the door so I can have coffe out there in the mourning without waking up my daughter and still be nearby when she wakes up. I like the walk across the bridge to the main pool and food court. I love the place and don't plan on staying any place else when we visit.

I know this is not the place to post this question, but I know someone here will have the answer and since I already sub to this thread it will make my life easier - and I am sure will help others as well.

I am trying to get a rough draft of prices for tips. I just need to know what is the tax on food? We've been looking over the menus and now to get a guesstimate for tip I need to factor in the tax.

Any help is greatly appreciated - and again, sorry for posting :offtopic:

I'm almost 100% positive that it is 6.5%.

I think you are right. I was looking over the buffet menus on allears and the only one that had tax included on the price was Tusker House. I did the math and it came out to 6.5%

What's a couple cents between friends... after all it is called a guesstimate for a reason

Thanks!

6.5% everywhere in WDW except for the three All-Stars resorts, where it's 7% ... Florida allows counties to set individual sales tax rates, and Osceola County, where the All-Stars are located, has a slightly higher rate than Orange County, where all of the rest of WDW is located.

We were right by the courtyard and it was great since it was just DS and I. I would put him to bed and sit out there for a little down time without having to worry because my room was right there.

I've never heard of tipping on tax. I've always been told you tip on the amount before tax.

In fact, when I lived in MA and the tax was 5%, many people I knew just tripled the tax (resulting in 15% of the bill before tax) and adjusted up from there for the tip.

So you're telling me all the work I just put in to this spreadsheet needs to be revised?! :headache: :goodvibes I thought you tip on the total cost, including tax... DOH!

*5%, oh, you're referring to before we became "TAX"achusetts

If going exactly by proper etiquette or whatever, tipping is on the subtotal before tax. Personally, I never bothered with that ... I always err on the side of tipping more rather than less.
