Welcome to the DIS!! :goodvibes

We have stayed at CBR twice and it is our favorite resort!

On our first stay we received our request on Jamaica 45 top floor. On our second trip we requested Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51 top floor, and got Aruba 51 bottom floor. So I think they really do try to honor requests, but they just can not all be met everytime. Good luck! :wizard:

I booked online.......how do I go about making a request? How far in advance should I make the request?

It's a great resort, and we even prefer it ot Y&B club. That might sound strange, but we like the relaxed breakfast area better and the theme.

I know just what you mean -- we had stayed at WL and AKL before our first CBR stay, and we just fell in love with the relaxed, laid-back atmosphere at CBR!!! It's our favorite!!

If you didn't put your requests in when you booked online then you will have to call and do it. You can do it at anytime.

Good luck! :goodvibes

We just booked our trip for March 13-20 :yay:and wanted to ask a few questions. First off regarding size, how does it compare to CSR. Similar to the posts on here it seemed like everyone complained about how big and spread out it was but it really wasn't that big of a deal. Also does anyone know what the crowds are like this time of year. Last year we went easter week which is suppose to be bad but we really didn't think it was.

We were there this past March at just about the same time. It was busy, but not bad at all. Never stayed at CSR, but stayed at CBR in late August and LOVED it!! We were in Trinidad South (Bldg 34) and had no complaints about the walk, and that includes a trip with with two toddlers!!

I didn't see anywhere to put that in online, but I may hav missed it. Do I just call the regular reservation phone number?

Question about this resort we are thinking about it for our Sept 2010 trip we just got back a week ago from POP and liked it a lot and we are currently booked to return to POP. Is this resort that much better and my concern is with the buses is it as good as POP because I felt their bus transportation to the parks was great.

Is it much closer than POP to the parks mainly MK.

Thanks in advance.:thumbsup2

Never stayed at POP, so I can't really say if it is better. But we do choose the moderates over the values for several reasons - larger rooms, ceiling fans, privacy curtain, refrigerator, shaded bus stops, better pools (CBR's being the best!), pool slides, and just a more lush, quiet and relaxing feel.

As for the location, POP and CBR are right next to each other, so I don't think you will find much difference in the transportation times. The best bus service we have experienced has been at CBR, with most waits being under 5 minutes. And once the bus leaves the resort it is 3 minutes to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to AK & MK.

Even the internal bus service was better than I remember it ever being. I expected longer than normal waits and was pleasantly surprised each time we needed them! :thumbsup2

Not sure exactly what you mean by night, but we have been in the Jamaica pool in the evening around 7-8 and had it all to ourselves. We aren't really late night people, so I can't really say beyond that. Other than we have never had any trouble with noise coming from them when we are sleeping.

I was wondering if the quiet pools were jam packed at night or were there alot less people, mainly pretty quiet at night? We like a less crowded pool at night for swimming.

We were in Martinique building 24 and had a short walk to the main pool and OPR. It was hotter than I expected so we changed our plans and had fun in the main pool in the afternoons, but noticed either no one or two people would be in the quiet pool behind us. My 5 year old son did the pirate adventure cruise offered out of CBR and had a fantastic time. Our rooms were very clean and taken care of every day. Sometimes we were the 1st bus stop and sometimes we only had two more to go before we were on our way to the parks. Surprisingly we always seemed to be the first stop on the way back which was nice. The buses came with in 0-10 minutes for all parks both going and returning. Going I would see four MK buses sometimes with in one minute of each other. We ate at the food court once for dinner and once for breakfast and thought the food was good (turkey blt & Chinese chicken salad) had breakfast once (everything plate & chocolate chip pancakes). I would stay there again for sure and just because I was very happy with our location would most likely request it again. I have no other resorts to compare this to, but the staff was very friendly & helpful, a clean hotel, great park transportation and recreation at hotel itself.
