We are now officially having Disney/CBR withdrawals after spending 10 glorious days at the CBR and being home for a week.:guilty: For those of you wanting to see pictures of the CBR, I've just posted lots of pictures of the room in my trip report. I'll be posting pictures of the resort very soon. The link is in my signature. (It's the second one.)

We too just got back. This was our first time at CBR and I have to say it is now our favorite moderate! My kids even said they want to stay there again. We stayed in bldg 32 in Trinidad North - very close to the food court, pool, gift shop! My only complaint was the bus service. It seems to take forever to get some busses. I don't remember waiting that long at POR or CBR. Even though we weren't thrilled with the busses, we would still stay there again!

Hi CBR'ers! Thanks so much for all of your help and tips! We are staying at CBR 12/5-12/12. It's our first time on property and we're so excited! I just wondered if any had an updated list of the bus routes around CBR (which villages first, middle, last, etc.) to get to/from the parks and DTD. The last post of the routes was from quite a few months ago. Thanks again for the help!

Wow my family and I are gonna be a CBR from 12-4 to 12-10. I just changed over from pop to CBR this afternoon! Im super stoked!

See ya there - 12/6-12/11!

Hi everyone,
Pretty new to the board, lurked several times, but have nothing to add since I've only been to WDW twice (as an adult) and will be going again on 9/9.
Before I ask my question, I would like to say something to MrFDNY re 9/11.

Our trip this time encompasses that date, and for every ADR and every special event I booked for that day I clogged up. Even now as I write this, I become weepy eyed. Sorry folks, I just had to write that. It will never be just a date on the calandar for me. Thank you for allowing me to write that.

I am very excited to be staying at CBR. A little nervous about the size, but I'm sure I'll be ok. My big question (tada, I'm finally getting to my point!) are you able to see Illuminations from somewhere on the property? What other special things should I be on the lookout for? I did not request a Nemo or Pirate room, but requested a room in either Aruba or Jamaica. thank you all, Tricia

Hi everyone,

I am very excited to be staying at CBR. A little nervous about the size, but I'm sure I'll be ok. If you go to the Martinique beach or even the OPR, or the bridge , many places actually you can see some of the higher fireworks from Illuminations. It's a nice nightcap if you are on a low key evening, or have little kids that need to be back at the hotel then.

All rooms are Nemo themed, other than pirate, which is basically just the bedspread and wall border. Pirate rooms are in Trinidad South. (clever of disney to make you pay more for the location farthest from OPR which was probably not requested as much before!)

I have requested Aruba and Jamaica before. Once I did get Aruba (the farthest one!) and it is actually a longer haul than some Barbados buildings. Many people request the Aruba 51 and Jamaica 45 (the closest to the bridge), however, so many people request it, that it's impossible for all to get. Last time I requested it, and did not get it. Got Barbados instead and actually loved it there. Beautiful am walk to the OPR, without a winding island to block my view. Also, the mousekeeping in Barbados left towel animals every night except for one (a 9 day stay). Kids loved it! Did not get any when I stayed in Aruba. However, this trip I did tip $4.00 every morning in any envelope. On the Aruba trip I tipped one bigger tip at the end. Our mousekeeper also always left extra soap and shampoos. And on the very last day she threw on the counter like a whole big pile! Any place you get I'm sure you will love.

We just got back from CBR, we were there from 8/15 to 8/25. Had a wonderful time!

Didn't get offered the Bounceback promo though :(

The resort was beautiful as always!

Only had one problem witht he bus and that was the day we were heading to Typhoon Lagoon...we waited about 30 minutes for a bus. Other than that it was about a 10 minute wait on average. However, coming back from Epcot was pretty bad, we watied about 20 minutes for a CBR bus. It wwasn;t only once but on 4 different occasions.

I took alot of pics and when I get them off my camera I will post some.

Hi;

This is our second time staying at CBR :cool1: We will be there on Sep 7 - 16.

First time we went ds5 loved the "pirate swimming pool" so much that when we told him about our plan to go back he was so excited and ask us to please make our ress. to stay at the "pirate swimming pool" resort again.pirate:

Now, I paid for prefered room not because the view but becuase we wanted to be close to the "pirate swimming pool" since we know he would want to go every day. But, also I'm renting a ECV for myself (back problem, surgery after disney vac) and I wonder if I should let them now so they could give me first floor room. And if anyone know if I will be able to charge the ECV from the outside or do I have to bring it inside the room.

I would love the room be a Martinique 25, since it look closer from the Port Royal, what do you expert think. If I ask first floor and Martinique 25, is this will be too much to ask?:confused3

Anybody have the answer to my question???:confused3

Mario Angel-

I asked for Jamaica or Aruba and 2nd floor...and I got Jamaica 1st floor.

So I got 50% of my requests.

ALso, I didn;t see anyplace outside wher you could charge an ECV, I am assuming they get plugged in, so you would ahve to take it inside.

Enjoy your trip!

I would call them now and tell them that you will need a first floor room due to the ECV. And there isn't enough room on the walkway to charge the ECV, you will need to do it in the room. I think it would be a Fire Hazard to block the walkway with an ECV.

Hope that helps.

Hi CBRers,
We are staying at CBR 10/18-24/09 it is our first visit to CBR and we are very excited. I am traveling with hubby,DD 5,DS4 and my parents. We have 2 waterview rooms booked.(only availability). I see there is some discussion about paying for a preferred room. My Mom has had a recent Hip replacement shes doing well but if we could limit resort walking that would help. Is it better to forgo the view and pay for preferred? Thanks for any input.

Waterview rooms can be a view of a quiet pool just as easily as a view of the lake. If choosing between the two, and if preferred is available, I would choose to pay for preferred.

I would suggest calling Disney Resort Special Needs to see if they can help with room location - they can only arrange a room in the category booked, but they could at least get you as close as possible. They are wonderful - they can also check availability for a preferred. They are very nice and helpful.

Disney Resort Special Needs 407-939-7807 option 1. Have your reservation numbers handy.

Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Is it better to request Martinique b/c the bus picks up before Trinidad for the preferred rooms? We don't want to be stuck waiting for the buses forever.

Thanks!

Any other differences in the preferred locations? We will have a toddler, pregnant (me!) and a physically disabled person, though he is not in a wheelchair.

Martinique does pick up before Trinidad, so yes I would request Martinique based on that, but even in Martinique there were times we had to stand. The good news is; we found that most times many would give up their seats to a toddler or a preg. mommy. Well, at least DH, and I would, even my older DD would as well. My younger DD has medical issues so we look for her a seat as well. Good luck and have a great trip.

I've been enjoying all the info on this thread, and please forgive me if this has been asked/answered before, but where are the refrigerators in the pirate rooms? I can see the crates with the drawers and the barrel tables, but I dont see a refrigerator in any of the photos. Can anyone tell me where they are?

While we didn't stay in a pirate themed room, we have stayed at the CBR four years in a row. I timed my walk from Trinidad South (where the pirate rooms are) and it took me 6 1/2 minutes to reach Old Port Royale.
