Hi Everyone

I know I've seen this question posted before; so I am sorry for the repetition, but does CBR have wifi in the rooms or anywhere on the resort. Dh had a ton of June deadlines at work so he will definetly need to bring the lap top this trip:rolleyes::rolleyes: He was panicking last night; so I promised I would find out for him today.....??

Hi! We are staying at CBR in about 2 weeks- we have a preferred room. Just wondering if there are any room requests I should make?

Thanks!

Kim

Either Trinidad North and Martinique are wonderful, I have stayed in both. I prefer Martinique, it seems closer to OPR and we were definitely closer to the quiet pool, and laundry room. But.....in TN, we were closer to the bus stop, so there are pluses on both villages.

I don't mean to be rude, but I don't understand what you mean. Your particular room in Martinique happened to be relatively close to Martinique. Your particular room in Trinidad North happened to be close to TN's bus stop. But neither of these things is characteristic of that village. Someone can get a Martinique room that is far from Martinique's quiet pool, and someone can get a TN room that's far from TN's bus stop. Do you know what I mean? When someone else is trying to decide which village to choose, the fact that you happened to get a room near that village's bus stop is not a reason why that person should choose that village. That's not a "plus" that that person should consider about that village, since every village has its own bus stop and every village has its own quiet pool.

I'm sorry if this sounds critical ... I don't mean for it to be that way, but I also want to make sure that the earlier poster doesn't sit at home and decide whether she should choose Martinique in order to be near a quiet pool or choose TN in order to be close to a bus stop. I hope this makes sense. :goodvibes

Is there packets of coffee in the rooms to make? I know there are coffee makers in the rooms, but I have seem some post talking about bringing thier own coffee.

Hi all - we are coming the week of Dec 6-11. Any advice for wanting a King bed. I will be traveling with my DH & 2 y/o daughter, a king bed is not necessary for us, but would be nice! It will cost us an additional $100+ to reserve this room, but we are coming during a slow period (minus the Pop Warners:scared:) so am debating taking the risk.

Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks in Advance!

Jen

I would suggest if you want a king bed room then go ahead and reserve that category. King bed rooms are very popular and you are allowed to reserve them at CBR instead of hoping for a king bed room.

Thought I would give a breif review as I am not a trip report person but wanted to let people know my opinion of the pirate rooms since I got such great tips on these boards

We stayed May 16-23 in a pirate room at CBR- the room was great, my two boys (age 1.5 and 3.5) loved it ( oh and we used the pirate current as a nightlight so no scare factor there) The room was very clean and thank god we had wonderful mousekeeping while there because it was so nice to come back to the room after spending a day out in the rain. We bought a pirate Mickey for my oldest and each day when we returned to the room we would usually have a towel animal and pirate Mickey was into some mishchief- i.e. had the tv remote and the tv was on- was on the bed with the other stuffed animals with the phone calling room service, etc- my sone was so excited to see what pirate mickey had done when we would return to the room!

As for the rain and this resort- not a good combo- TS is very far away in the rain- we are walking people and our first day was nice so we walked to OPR- not a bad walk, pretty, even with strollers very doable- then it rained, and rained, and rained- after walking all day in the rain it was a pain in the but to get to OPR to get drinks or anything else for that matter. Plus there are no corridors so anytime you go out of your room you are going to be in the rain. Couldn't really enjoy the grounds/pool because of rain- we did one day though and thought it was nice. Also- we were on 2nd floor and because there stairs are painted they are very slippery- I fell carrying my youngest and busted by elbow really good. This was the last day though or I would have been requesting to be moved to a ground floor- which I should have done anyways when it was raining so hard.

When we could get to OPR I though the food court was excellent- good selection, basic food but tasty- we got a pizza one night and brought it back to the room. Most of the CMs were pleasent, except the first night when we were trying to get our backpack we had checked with bell services (it had our boys blankies in it) I was told that they had a lot of people check in that day and they could not tell me when my backpack would be delivered and we could not pick it up because they could not gaurantee that they could locate it- what this was at 10pm- after calling three times on it and finally asking if we could just pick it up. Lucky a nice CM delievered it shortly thereafter- other than that no problems with CMs

I would encourage people to stay here though as overall it was a nice resort- you just have to be patient with the pirate rooms as we were the last stop for every bus! But I still thought the pirate room was worth it- just would have been nicer without the rain!

Welcome back! :goodvibes Sorry there was so much rain on your trip and about your fall. I hope your elbow is healing. Glad to hear that you were able to enjoy CBR despite the rain. The pirate rooms sure look cool, I bet your little ones really enjoyed them! pirate:

That is strange that TS was the last bus stop for every bus. When we were there in January Aruba was the last stop for most buses. :confused3

Ok- just to be clear- maybe Aruba was after us sometimes but is Aruba the next after TS- because we were definitly the second to last if not the last- and when you get on the internal you would have to go all the way around- but from OPR you could hop on any bus because it would be stopping at TS before leaving the resort for the park. I know momof2disney boys is more of an expert though so go with her advise but I do know TS was never the first stop!! LOL Not really a big deal though since we were just happy to be on a dry bus- Oh and only had to wait 25 min once for a bus so no problems with that! Plus that was actually one of my youngest favorite parts of our trip - waiting for our bus! LOL

We are staying at CBR September 22-30. We have never stayed at this resort before, and I love reading all of the tips, so THANKS!

harmon54, I am so sorry about all of the rain during your vacation, but it sounds like you had the right attitude! Thanks for all of the "rainy resort" tips, as we will be there during tropical storm/hurricane season and are already anticipating some showers...fingers crossed, though!

It depends on whether the bus enters the front gate or back gate. If entering back gate, then TS is the last stop. If entering the front gate, then it's the 4th out of 7 stops.

Glad you enjoyed your trip despite the rain. :)

I think some of the buses start at Martinique (if they enter through the front entrance) then go onto OPR, T.North, T.South, Jamaica, Aruba, and Barbados - then out. And others start at Jamaica (if they enter through the back gate) then go onto Aruba, Barbados, Martinique, OPR, T.North, and T.South - then out. But I think this can also change if a bus is full before it makes all it's stops, then they dispatch another bus to start where they left off. . .

Either way - we had very good luck with the buses too! :goodvibes

I am going to do a split stay next February with the Poly and thinking of staying in a pirate room at CBR instead of Pop. I was just looking at the CBR map, and I was wondering what happens after you check in at the Customs House? It is so far away from Trinidad South! :scared1: How do you get to your room, and does it take an awfully long time? And when you check out, does someone come out to your room to help you bring your luggage? (or if I'm switching over to the Poly, does someone come get my luggage and take it away to be delivered to the Poly?). The more I look at CBR, the more excited I am about doing a split stay. I have my DD sold on the pirate room...but she still wants to go back to the Poly to "hop on the monorail" back to our room!

Finally found my camera cord and software! LOL!!

Finally have some pirate room/resort pics. Do I have them to this thread or is there another?
