Thank you to all for the wonderful pics and info on CBR. We are going in Sept. and I can't wait, we are so psyched for the Pirates of the Caribbean adventure cruise for the kids, the pirate room, the pool water play area, ALL OF IT, YEAH!!:love::banana:

Just saw this post. Had to chime in. When in Sept. are you going? We are staying in a pirate room and our boys are also doing the pirate cruise in late Sept.- early Oct.

Just got done reading ALL 51 pages of this fourth installment of the tread and am SOOOOO excited for our upcoming trip... In DECEMEBER!!! :sad1:Ahh it feels like forever!

That's OK, enjoy the summer where you are, and by the time you're fed up with wintry weather, it'll be time to get ready!

We're going in Dec, too!:)

Hi, I would also like to know the answer to that question.
If I have a pirate room in Trinidad South ...should I ask for a specific
location or it shouldn't matter..???

Thanks so much

Yoli

Ha - the only way to "enjoy" the summer's on The Cape are to be a tourist!

I was just thinking about that though, when the cold comes to settle, we'll be jet-setting to Sunny (fingers crossed) Orlando!

I don't think it really matters. You know you won't have a water view room because you didn't reserve/pay for one. The only thing I can suggest is to request Building 34 or Building 35 ... they are (slightly) closer to Old Port Royale than the other four Trinidad South buildings.

Hi All

I am booked to come on our first family trip in December. Sunday the 6 - Friday the 11 to be exact and now I am going a little crazy because these are the same dates as Pop Warner! I read on another thread that someone had confirmed that the moderate that is reserved for them is CSR. So now I am tossing it back and forth whether to switch our dates (my poor travel agent, I have already made SO many changes! But hey, that's his job - right?). Thinking of maybe switching to Sun Nov 29 - Friday Dec 4. Next problem, I already booked our airfare (Delta)... argh! This is the first trip I get a say so in and I am really excited. I would really hate it to be "ruined" with "over crowding cheer mongers" (sorry for my disdain)

Any suggestions? Also may be helpfu, maybe notl, we have paid for a standard room with preference noted for Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51, ground level.

Thanks all - love this thread!!!

I understand how you feel ~ I was in the same position in 2007. I stressed about Pop Warner and did not want to change it because it was my birthday week. It ended up being absolutely no big deal at all:goodvibes.

The transportation was great that year and we did not feel it made much of a difference in our park touring.

Hope this helps

Just wanted to post that we got back a week ago. We had a great time. This was the first year we drove, so we had our own car and I think that made a difference. We checked in at 12:30 and to my surprise our rooms were ready. (last time we stayed at the Poly and our room wasn't ready till almost 5 pm, not a good experience). We were traveling with DSis and DBIL and had connecting rooms. The only thing I requested was rooms near each other and as close as possible to OPR. We ended up in Jamaica 44 first floor. The rooms were really nice and overall clean. They seemed slightly bigger than the CSR room we stayed in before.

Our room looked out to very nice courtyard with benches and tables with umbrellas. I think this was the smoking section, but we only saw a couple of people smoking there. It was nice to just sit there while waiting for each other. We were close to the quiet pool which we used a number of times. There were always people there, but it was never crowded. The laundry room was by the pool as well and it was very clean. It is a little expensive $2 to wash and $2 to dry, but I thought it was worth it. I did 2 loads at the same time and it was great. I was the only one doing the laundry the time I was there. The also have a change machine which is great if you need quarters and you don't have to walk all the way to OPR for change. From Jamaica we were just over the bridge from OPR, not a long walk at all. The main pool was very nice, my kids really liked it, but it was crowded and it was sometimes hard to get a chair at the main pool. The pirate pool/playground was also nice but very crowded, and it seems it was geared for the younger crowd. Last year we went to Disneyland and stayed at HOJO and they had a similar pirate pool, but my kids said that the HOJO slides were better, because they were geared for older kids. My boys are 8 and 6, just for reference. The pirate pool was one of the main reasons I booked CBR, but it turned out that we really liked the resort, but not because of the pool.

We had our car with us, so decided to drive to the parks, on the morning we were going to MK we figured we would take the bus. When we got to the bus stop there were already a bunch of people waiting, we heard people saying that they've been waiting for about 20 minutes for MK bus. There were a couple of Epcot buses, HS and AK buses come by, before a MK bus finally came. We waited about 20 minutes, so I guess some people waited for about 40 minutes, one lady was calling the front desk from the bus stop to complain. When the bus came there were already a lot of people on the bus, and the next stop was Aruba, and only a handful of people were able to get on there before the bus was completely full. I know a lot of people at that bus stop were unhappy being left behind. Next time we went to MK we drove. Dsis and Dbil took the bus a couple more times and said it wasn't that bad. They did say that taking the bus back after wishes was a nightmare, there were people screaming and 2 men almost got into a fight.

Housekeeping was fine for most of the week, one day we came back around 1pm and our room still wasn't cleaned. I called housekeeping to ask for towels and to not have our room cleaned that day. We had two different 2 CMs bring us towels about 30 minutes apart, and still had a housekeeper try to clean our room, and I had to sign a paper saying that I didn't want it cleaned that day. The last day we probably got a different mousekeeper because our room was so much cleaner than the previous days, which goes to show you that it just depends on who you get.

Overall we had a great time, when we checked in we were told that the resort was at capacity, but it never seemed overly crowded. It was like two vacations in one. After crowded parks, we would come back to CBR and it was quiet and relaxing.

I'll be glad to answer any questions:)

Thanks so much - I should probably just take a deep breath! I love how spread out CBR is. Your comments were helpful!

Thanks again - :thumbsup2

Safetymom, Thanks for the pictures. We will be staying at CBR from May 28th till June 4th in a preferred room. The rooms look really nice. I'm really getting excited now.

Thanks Safetymom and Momof2Disneyboys for the pictures!

I have to say that especially in comparison to the pirate rooms the themeing in the nemo rooms is pretty weak! A few assorted characters in the bedspread and the wall paper border isn't really....IDK but when you see the pirate ship beds and the lanterns in the pirate room I just think the nemo rooms are disappointing. Really nice and pretty but not very "under the sea"

There is a very good reason for this. The Pirate rooms are a separate booking category. Disney charges you more per night to stay in these rooms ... they put a lot of money into the theming.

ALL of the other rooms in the resort have a slight Nemo motif. But they are STANDARD rooms. Disney isn't advertising them as "Nemo" rooms, they're just the normal CBR rooms. If you think of them as just normal rooms, then they're great. But if you conceive of them as "Nemo" rooms, of course you're disappointed, since it's only a slight theming.

Disney isn't advertising "Nemo" rooms at CBR. It's all the buzz here on the DIS, but it's not a big deal with Disney itself. They refurbished the rooms, and the new bedspreads and wallpaper border have a few Nemo characters sprinkled onto them ... that's all they did was add a tiny little flourish, nothing more.

I hope this helps you understand the situation. :goodvibes

thanks for the great review lovemyboys! Glad you had a great time! Can you tell me if they had a coffee maker in the room? also, if we wanted to bring coffee do you know what type of filers the maker would use?
I thought I asked this before but can't find the answer anywhere!

Does anyone know if the clock radios in the rooms have an ipod dock? I think I saw a picture of one somewhere on here but can't find it now and if I remember correctly, I couldn't really tell from the picture anyway. We often bring one with on on vacation so we can listen to music in our room, but would love to leave it at home if they already have one!

Yes, there was a regular coffee maker in the room. I'm sorry I don't know what kind of filters it would take as we never used it. But there were no mugs, just four glasses and some Disney theme paper cups. We did ask for more paper cups and got them without a problem.
