Caribbean Beach FAQ Part IV

I've read that some resorts have hard boiled eggs in the grab n go areas of the food court, so has anyone seen them at CBR?

I thought I saw a thread one time that said how long it took to get from CBR to each park on the bus?

Can anyone help me?
TIA:thumbsup2

(16 days!! WOOTWOOT!)

We always drive and have a car at our disposal. But, during two ten day stays, we drove our car once on the first trip and twice on the second trip. It totally wasn't worth the hassle of taking the tram and fighting the crowds. Even standing on the bus was better than the tram.

That's how we feel too. Also we drive for work everyday. It was so nice not having to drive!

I'm not sure where the thread is, but I timed our bus rides in January. Once we left the resort it was 3 minutes to DHS, 5 to Epcot, 9 to DTD, and 11 to MK and AK.

I absolutely hate driving around Disney World for some reason. It's super nice to just let somebody do the driving for us. AND, a biggie for us, because we go during the Summer months, is getting on a nice air conditioned bus instead of our sweltering hot car!

Oh, Shelly! I knew I could count on you!!:goodvibes

Side note-I see you have a new ticker...where are you staying next time??

Yep, that's my new "generic" ticker!

We are tentatively going back next January. . . Not sure where we are staying yet. . . I like to try new things, but at the same time I know that CBR has everything my family needs and nothing else seems to compare for us. So, if we go moderate we will either be trying the only moderate we haven't stayed at before, POR , or getting a pirate room at CBR. If we decide to go deluxe it will either be the Poly or BC. So we'll just have to see what kind of deals WDW has and go from there I guess!

Yep, can you tell we are all about the pools and a beachy/tropical feel??? :rotfl:

You're welcome. I am glad to talk about CBR anytime! :thumbsup2 I can't believe your trip is almost here! I can't wait to hear all about it!! :cool1:

Our family loves the CBR. We have stayed there every other year and are due back in 2010. In 2008 the main pool was under construction so your pictures get my kids pumped to return next year.

DH and I are planning on going back to the CBR in August for a long weekend...are the Nemo rooms available to book yet because the CM said they are not.

Would you rather a Nemo room, Pirate room, a king room, a standard room or a preferred room?

It has been 5 years since we have been to CBR

Hi Nicki!

The Nemo rooms are all done. If you book a standard room that is what you will get. I would pay the extra to stay in a pirate room (once), but I don't think I'd ever pay for preferred, water view, or king. Both times we have stayed there we have booked standard and loved both locations and have always had an under 5 minute walk to OPR and a bus stop!

You sure got a misinformed cast member. The Nemo rooms have been done for quite awhile.

You have definitely been misinformed about the Nemo themed rooms! They've been open since, at least, last August because we stayed in one.:rotfl:

We've stayed in a standard location and a preferred location. Preferred locations are closer to the main pool/food court/store but, in all honesty, I wouldn't pay the extra money for a preferred location. The walks around the resort are so pretty that a walk from anywhere on the resort grounds is pleasant.

I may be wrong but I think all the pirate rooms are double beds. Like I said, though, I may be wrong on that.

Any recent word on if they're finally done w/ the Pirate rooms? Or are there still some un-refurbished standard rooms out there? We'll be there in a little over a week! :yay:

I booked a preferred room at CBR and was wondering if anyone had photos of the preferred room on the outside showing how close they are to the building. We requested Martique. Don't know which preferred is the best. Any views? Thanks.

Carly,
We have requested Martinique for our upcoming trip, I had a similar question awhile back and someone posted this picture: (You have to scroll side to side to see it all, Martinique buildings ARE the blue ones, it's in post number 180)

Here are some of our Martinique pics. The first set is from 2007:

We were upstairs and the next few pics were taken as we walked around the building:

These are from our 2008 trip. This was what you saw when you got to the end of our walkway and looked to your right:
