I am looking for a higher paying job. I have finally faced the facts that no matter what I do at my present position, I will never make a better salary.

My local paper is online and their job listings is through Career Builder. Most of the jobs have a button to click on and "apply now", which hopefully emails my resume to the company I am applying to. I just can't help but wonder if the company I am applying to is really opening these emails. (sometimes "apply now" takes you to the company website and you fill out their online application)

I guess what I am wondering is, has anyone here gotten a job through Career Builder or Hot Jobs or at least a response?

I've had good luck with Career Builder. I found my job in Austin there. Then when I was looking here in Phoenix I got one. In both cases I had no other reference, it was just my application/resume through Career Builder. My current (new) job was posted there too, but it was at a company where I know a couple people and they've interviewed my before - so happy there, it has been a great job.

Other sites I've looked at over the years - may depend on your area - www.jobing.com and www.theladders.com.

You might also try googling for other industry specific sites. I did "insurance jobs" when I was looking and found a couple sites I had not seen before.

I got a good job some years back through monster.com . You might want to check them out too if you haven't yet.

I recently hired someone after posting the open position on our co. website. When I began interviewing I asked how they found out about the position, many of them said Career Builder or Monster.

Great! Thanks. There seem to be some great jobs listed and I have sent my resumes. Its really a crunch time at my present job right now and actually hitting the pavement to look for something else would be hard to do.

I check what's listed on careerbuilder, monster, indeed, and dice...but when ever possible I go to the company website and apply there.
