card swap-spring, fall, or both

I am going to host a card swap. Thinking either March or late Sept. or both. What do you think? For newbies, card ideas are; birthday, masculine, feminine, holiday, general, disney, etc.

Both.
Include the springtime holidays with spring and some winter/fall holidays with the fall swap.

AWM, I would actually suggest the opposite, in the spring I would do fall/winter cards since you will have them back in time for those seasons and then so spring/summer cards in the fall to be ready for next year.

But either way is good!

I agree with B&MB, especially as we celebrate Mothering Sunday (a church festival generally March) rather then Mothers Day (invented by Hallmark ) In case you want to know Mothering Sunday was originally the one Sunday you returned to your own Parish church, so all the servants would get to go home and visit their mothers, often taking a Simnel cake wth them.

All beside the point, but with the time for postage etc. I'd rather have my stuff back well in advance of the festival its needed for And I LOVE having a stash of home-made cards all ready to go. My mum and isiter will sortly be receving some from the last swap

You know my mind only thinks of things of the spring things in the spring and fall things in the fall. You all are going to push me out of my comfort zone. But, you are right. It does make more sense to have the items before you need them.

I like the Mothering Sunday tradition much better. Will you post the recipe for the cake?

I'm good with anything...but I LOVE to have the cards! I've been only signing up for the general ones, but I've already used most of the sympathy stash, so I'm ready.... spring and fall please

This is a great idea, I love the "doing things in the opposite season" too. Makes a lot of sense! It also doesn't hurt to toss in some non-holiday ones (i.e. weddings, thank-you's, new baby etc.)
