What would you recommend for being the best and fastest way to get from SNA airport to DLH (bonus for approximate cost). And if by way of car service, please let me know if you have any recommendations. Thanks!

My Uber was there in less than 10, got to Desert Inn in about 25, and cost $32.98. This was on Saturday, July 2 in morning.
gave $10 tip for expediency.
Return on Monday was only $22 and had the sweetest driver ever - Rodrigo!

There are lots of taxis right outside baggage claim at SNA. No need to reserve ahead of time. The pricing to the Disney area is usually a flat rate, but I don't know the current cost.

Agree with Taxi..... they are lined up right outside baggage claim. Walk outside and there is a Dispatcher who will direct you to your taxi. fast and easy !!

I went in May and took a shuttle because I wanted to know a ride was waiting for me. I used Sunny's transportation. It was $100 each way. Pricey, but I didn't want to deal with cabs or uber.

MidWilShuttle quoted a price of $90 each way. Our last trip, we needed a pickup at 5 am on the way home and I wanted some assurance someone would be available that early.

On the way to the hotel, we used Lyft. We haven’t had problems before, but that time it was surprisingly frustrating. There is a specific designated pickup area at SNA, but drivers did not seem to know how to find it. The first driver canceled our ride, even though we were where we were supposed to be and they were not, and the second driver had trouble getting there also. There were several similar problems with riders and drivers around us (I heard one driver near us calling their rider, trying to figure out where they were).

For next time we have booked MidWilShuttle for both ways just to avoid the hassle.

We arrived to SNA just before 6 pm on Monday, July 4. We had no checked baggage, so I ordered an Uber as soon as we got off the plane, at 5:56 pm. We were picked up at 6:04 and by arrived to GCH at 6:24. We are 2 adults with 2 small suitcases. The ride was $29 plus tip.

The same was true going back to the airport. I ordered the uber at 4:43. We were picked up from GCH at 4:53 pm and arrived to SNA at 5:11 pm. Our cost was $30 plus tip.

We opted to go that route because of the cost. 2 hours earlier, just before we boarded the plane, uber was slammed and the dynamic pricing had the cost at $65+ for our trip. Had that been the case when we arrived we would have grabbed a taxi instead.

I would also look at Lyft as another option. I was pricing out transportation for our trip this week. I looked at karmel shuttle on their website was 71.50 with AAA discount but found it to be cheaper on getawaytoday.com for 61.50. Sunnys transportation was $95 and I also checked uber and lyft but I found that Lyft was the cheapest.

I usually check the Uber/lyft prices and wait time as we are walking toward the taxi stand, and we almost always end up taking the taxi. Last October, I think it was going to be a 20 minute wait for Uber/Lyft. The taxis are right there waiting.

We take Uber/Lyft back to the airport. Our last trip, I just booked it on the app the day before and they showed up right on time.

Do the taxis charge a flat rate from SNA to DLR area hotels? If so, anyone know what it is currently?

We had a family of 5 with 4 checked bags and backpacks. We used Lanskys. Couldn't have had a better experience. The car was immaculate. The driver had no trouble fitting everything and the ride was super smooth, so much so my daughter fell asleep.

Is the Uber/Lyft area to the left of the taxi stand as you come out of the terminal? And how far ahead of time would you recommend getting a ride from DHL to SNA?

I honestly didn't notice the taxi stand (or if I did, I didn't know that's what it was!), but the ride share pick up is very well marked. You go out the doors of Arrivals, across the street, and it's right there.

We had a 6:45 pm flight. We got there at 5:11, did not check any bags, and there were about 2 people in front of us at security. Had I known for sure it would be that easy (both the travel time to the airport and getting through security), I probably would have left even later.

For SNA? I thought it was in the parking garage on a different floor?

There are at least two different areas, B pickup is across the street on the upper level of that garage. C area is down to your right when you step out and in that parking garage. So it just depends on what you choose in the app as your pickup spot. I was just there Friday night and they had plenty of signage for both areas (thankfully!).

Interesting, I never knew there were two spots! We are always "to the right". :)
