Car rides, Characters, and Coodies. October 18-25 TR

You take such great pictures! M looks adorable in her Belle dress. She did a great job getting her hair cut. I love the sparkles in her hair!

The party sounds like fun but I agree, a lot of money to pay for one Snow White picture and a little bit of candy. Hopefully we aren't setting ourselves up when we go to the Christmas Party...

All the great pictures that you took is making me more excited. After seeing them I can't wait to go!

Great Update. The parade looks like so much fun. I can't wait to see it! Madeline is so cute with the characters. What were all the characters in camp Minnie and Mickey?

We loved that parade too. It was great how much the characters interact with the kids. Next time you go, you have to try Yak and Yeti for lunch or dinner.
I am so glad you had such a wonderful day- I cant wait to hear about Ohana! Reading your report gets me SO excited to go back and experience it all again!! :goodvibes

Ohana is coming up soon. I can't wait to write about that one! Is Yak and Yeti the one that has counter service too? If so maybe we'll eat there.

If nothing else at the Christmas party at least you can go on some rides with no wait.

I believe there was Mickey, Donald, Minnie, and maybe Daisy and Goofy. I can't remember. We had seen them at breakfast that day so didn't stop for them.

The day of our Anniversary had come. We had nothing planned for this day except Ohana at 5:15. So we took our time getting ready. We had breakfast in the room and then I sent Madeline and Eric off to the game room. I was trying to avoid going to the pool this morning because of Madeline's cough. I think I packed a little or did laundry or something. When they returned I decided we should go to Downtown Disney. We hadn't hit that up yet and today was our last chance. So off we went.

I believe our first stop was World of Disney. We didn't spend too much time in there. We looked over all of the stuffed animals and then let Madeline decide if she wanted one of them OR some Star Wars Mr. Potato head parts. Anyone want to guess which she chose?

Star Wars parts of course. So we headed off to the Toy Store and filled up a box. We managed to fit the Star Wars parts along with Mary Poppins, Cinderella shoes, and a few more things. We then headed off to the pin store.

It was then time for lunch. We headed to none other then Earl of Sandwich. They have a AAA discount there. lol We met a very interesting women there. She had a service dog. Apparently he was an Alzheimers dog. She was very interesting to talk to. We probably stayed a lot longer then we would of had she not been there. I guess the dog is always in Disney and knows his way around quite well. If I remember correctly his name is Chance. So if you ever see a Cocker Spaniel looking dog in the parks it's probably chance. :)

After lunch we went back to the pin store so I could pick out a pin. We then decided to check out the lego store.

At this point I really wanted to take a boat ride to POR but Eric really did NOT want to do that so we went to Goofy's candy shop instead. We just got plain old cookies this day and one of those giant suckers for Madeline. We then headed back to the resort for nap time. It was a very peaceful and productive morning. We were getting very excited for our dinner.

Looks like you found the perfect spot for the Animal Kingdom parade! :thumbsup2 I love that Madeline chose the Star Wars potato parts! :lmao:

I'm glad to hear you guys had so much fun at AK. I didn't expect to see so many characters that day. We were probably standing right next to you at the rope drop. We went directly to the Safari as well.

By the way, if your daughter was any cuter it might be against the law!

Madeline and I then tried to race of the VOTLM but just missed the show so we headed towards Playhouse Disney. The original plan was to do VOTLM and then have Eric meet us at PD. Oh well we didn't think he'd mind too much.

After a quick phone call to Eric we headed over to VOTLM. Madeline was much more vocal this time about not liking Urcela. She did fine though. We're lucky in that even if she is scared or doesn't like something she'll just say "I don't like that mean witch" or whatever. She doesn't cry or cling to us for dear life. In this particular show prince Eric was at least a foot taller then Ariel. It made for an interesting last scene. After the show we found Eric waiting for us by the exit and we spotted our first pressed penny machine. The line was long so we decided to come back to it later.

I have a question that may sound stupid but what is VOTLM? I've never heard of this before :confused3

btw Madeline is so adorable!!
Madeline enjoyed correcting the CM when she said she didn't like Jaba's castle. Madeline said "it's not a castle it's a palace". lol

That is so cute! :rotfl2: Your condo is beautiful! If we ever decided to stay off-site (which is hard to convince my family to stay anywhere else than BWV especially with boardwalk views!), I will definitely look into this place!

It's amazing how much time (and money) you can spend at downtown disney even when you don't mean to.

I love the Earl of Sandwich. It rocks.

Wow I was WAY behind. You got some amazing photos! Excellent Job! Loved the DTD shots!

Yep she's addicted to Star Wars. It's kind of driving me crazy.

We were probably in the same car for the safari. lol

Voyage of the Little Mermaid. It's a show. :)

Luckily we only bought the potato head parts and cookies (and lunch). I think it was the only souvenir we got besides yoda and the light saber. :)

Wow I was WAY behind. You got some amazing photos! Excellent Job! Loved the DTD shots!

Thanks Matt!

So I almost had this up the other day but accidentaly closed the page before hitting submit. Anyway, on with the show.
After nap we changed our clothes and headed to the Poly. The parking lot was so full! I don't know what they do with all of the cars in busy season.
We walked to the main entrance and I noticed that there were no fish in the water. There used to be those giant goldfish (koi?). Anyone know what happened to them? Made me sad to not see them there. Madeline and Eric got his picture

and then since we were a bit early yet we headed to where else but the gift shop. Madeline found some interesting Tiki's to pose with.

We still had a bit to wait but we headed upstairs anyway.

at about 4:45 I got in line to check in. I got our pager and sat back down to wait. About 15 minutes later we were buzzed.

Our server grabbed us some bread and showed us to our table. Here was our view:

It was so peacefull there. We were smack dab in front of the castle. :)
To the left was the Grand Floridian and to the right the monstrous volcano pool ( I much prefer the old pool!)

We started munch on the delicious bread and soon the salad was brought out along with the dipping sauces.

Not long after they brought out the sticky wings, pot stickers, broccoli, and noodles. OMG those noodles were FANTASTIC! I was so surprised. They looked so gross in the pictures I'd seen.

About 5 minutes later they brought around the meat. We had choice of Turkey, Pork, Steak, or Shrimp. I tried 1 shrimp but couldn't get the dang shell off so stuck with the other stuff.

Madeline didn't like the selection so she got

It was then time to learn the hula. Madeline went up by herself

They did a little parade around the restaurant. After that they had everyone celebrating an anniversary go up there. We returned to our seats and finished eating. Then our cousin brought out the dessert. This is another thing I never in a million years thought I'd like. BUt it was SOOOOOOOOOOO good! Madeline got ice cream.

We then sat for a little bit and took in the atmosphere. We were hoping they'd start the coconut races but that wasn't meant to be. On the way out I grabbed a couple of pictures of the grill.

It was still early. What did we decide to do next?

Oh! that food looks so good (and I'm not even hungry--we tried a local hole in the wall-seafood buffet tonight)and that dessert looks awesome! so, how does the food come to you?!? do you order from a menu or do they just bring out platters of food?!?
Congrats! on the house showings; hope you get a signing!!
:wave2:

Awesome update! LOVE those Ohana photos! Brought back so many good memories. AND made me really hungry!

Thanks so much for posting the review of Ohana. We have that on our list of restaurants to try next trip.

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Ohana. That dessert is not something I would ever order off of a menu, but by the time we were finished I was tempted to lick the bowl!

I thought I'd start a new countdown. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Facebook friends shhhhhhhhhh our families don't know yet.

We're cautiously optimistic but VERY nervous also because of our loss history and all that. Anyone who read my first PTR knows are history.
