Car Rentals in May

Thanks Michael623 - your rate worked wonders for me. I went from $178 to $123 for a week at the end of May for an intermediate size car. I hope to have it down close to $100 before we leave.
I used my Alamo's Insider number and the $40. off coupon from Alamo. I also took advice and put my time on the half hour.

What time are you picking up? I found this strange thing this morning when checking for my DD for a May 7th pickup. IF she picks up at noon the rates are high, but if she picks up at 11:30 the rates drop. So try making your pick up on the half hour. The minivan offer only came up if I put in 11:30, but not noon....strange.

I appreciate your help, but, it's not coming down. I even tried putting 1130am for pick up to see if it would come down, but, it's not happening. I'm still getting $212 a week. I will keep checking, if not we will take our chance with the Executive.

Thank you!

Thats too bad. By yesterday the deal I booked was no longer available so they must've filled their minivan quota for my timeframe. Yes keep trying and stay close to this board as we all post any changes. I too am Executive, but need a minivan this trip as we are a party of 6 mid-trip. Good luck.

i need someone to help me here ! i'm nowhere near seeing the rates you all seem to be finding... for 10 days: pick up 10th may 11.30, drop off 20th may 11.30, i only manage to find rates at lowest of USD322 (incl of all the basic fees that are automatically added) for a 7 person mini van, with national. And that is after i applied contract id and discount codes, found on mousesavers. Would anybody mind having a look for me once and letting me know what they see ? because 320 plus 50 for a baby seat would be much too much to take up this extra luxury of having a car in WDW

really hoping someone will have a look for me !! thanks so much

My rate for a fullsize car starting on 5/12 from MCO and returning to Sanford on the 5/17 has dropped another $5.00. My new rate is $190.:cool1:

I crunched your numbers and came up with $304, which is pretty good for a minivan for 10 days. I used the continental code 5007160 and the $35 coupon ND8578ADT. You are a week after me and my rate just dropped this week. So maybe you'll see more drops next week. I would change and rebook to this new lower rate today just in case the price goes up. Good luck.

I got a minivan at mco for $190 for 1wk plus 1day with national using NCRLESS and $35 off coupon for May!:)

Did you also try it with a code (5007160) vs the NCRLESS? I tried NCRLESS and it didn't give me any extra $$ off, but the 5007160 brought the price even lower. Still, that is a very good price for a minivan. I managed a total of $271 for a 13 day rental. But I rechecked today and the offer is no longer available. Seem to be a "sale" day on Monday, but prices are still reasonable.

My rate dropped $12 today down to $189 for 8 days and 9 hours. I hope it continues to drop since we are 3 weeks out.

n2mm, thanks !! i applied those codes and got the same price as you said, 304 usd. Can everyone use the continental code or do you need to be a member of their programme ?

I just got $184 total for 8 days/ May 18-26, full-sized vehicle using the Alamo $40 code (AD4027JDO) and my Alamo Insiders ID. I'll keep watching for better pricing in the next couple of weeks.

This is $20 less than the economy-sized rental I booked through Enterprise, which I have to remember to cancel when I get home tonight!

I think you need to join. I have a continental program card which I bring with me when I use that code. I don't think I have ever had to show it but you never know if they might start asking to see it.

I am so lost here, can anyone help me out?? I'm looking for a car for 5/06 to 5/21. Right now we have a full size reserved for $462. Do you think we can bring that down?

Also - I had really WANTED to get a convertible - a few trips ago we had a mid-size reserved and at the counter we randomly got offered an upgrade to a mustang convertible for something insanely cheap like $75 or $100. (Thi8s was for a 10 day rental.) Foolishly I assumed that meant renting a convertible must be cheap. Well, in my searches I am finding that many are sold out and the ones that aren't, I can't find for less than $900!!! And that's for a standard, not a Mustang.

This trip is for our destination wedding in Disney. My fiance LOVED having that Mustang and I'd love to get it for him again, I think it would be a wonderful wedding/honeymoon splurge - but we just can't spend a ton on it, not after paying for the wedding! Anyone have any tips or is this just not going to happen?

Thanks so much to anyone who has any advice!

Not sure about the convertible but you can bring that $462 down to $374 for a fullsize using National contract id 5007160 and coupon ND8578ADT. Or, if you can do with a midsize you can get that for $320 using the same combination of codes.

You can go to the continental airlines website and just sign up to their FF program. You don't have to be flying on that airline when you rent your car. But no one has ever asked for a card. When you sign up on continental you will get a papercard to print. It's free and easy and it saves us $$.

Out of all the boards...]

this one is the best.

Great information ...and i savedsome money...now if i could only save some money on my auto insurance...oh that's a tv ad.

Again thank you

With using my Costco ID (7015309) and the $40 coupon (AD4027JDO) with my insiders number, I was able to get my 7 day compact rental down to $117.82.:cool1:
