Car rental taxes & surcharges in CA?

I posted this question on the Disneyland board, but then on second thought, realized it may get more traffic here

I've been pricing a car rental online for an upcoming trip to DL, and have been pleasantly surprised to not find the additional surcharges and concession fees added to the quote.

The only additional charge applied to the base rate is the CA sales tax.

Can this be true, or is there some clause in CA that doesn't require them to list these additional fees upfront in your quote?

Any insight would be appreciated, so I won't end up Confused in California

I just returned from california last moth. Got a great rate thru dollar for an intermediate car @ 86 dollars for 7 days. All i remember was the california taxes no surcharges like in florida.

The nice folks on the DL board said the same thing (no surcharges). I really did think they would have to list them upfront.

Now if only I could find such a good car rental rate in FL

Fat chance with all those surcharges!
