Car rental second driver ages question

Hi. We might be going down for a quick trip in April (for a volleyball tournament)

We would need to rent a car. If we use a Walmart code for a free driver, I think for Alamo, can the second drive be 24? The primary driver is 50. Would we be charged the fee for an under 25 driver? ( I think the fee is nearly $50/day)?

Thanks!

$25 for the under age driver fee? That would be more acceptable. I'm not worried about the cost of the car itself, I just don't want to be stuck paying an additional fee, if I'm not listed as the primary driver.

Of course, any car rental agency will charge the underage driver fee if any of the listed drivers are below age.

From Alamo's website

Additional drivers must meet the same eligibility requirements as the Primary driver

Some corporate codes waive the underage driver fee. If you work for a major company see if you have a code, that can be used for leisure rentals, that waives the fee. Price it both ways, no guarantee that kind of code will be cheaper then using the WalMart code and paying the fee.
