Reserved a car for the first week in Dec for 5 days for a compact with Enterprise at LAX for $135 total. Is this a good price?

Sure ~ the last time we flew in & out of LAX (very much prefer LGB) we paid $100 each way for a taxi! How many are in your group? If there's only a couple of you you could look into a shuttle but if you're visiting other places outside of DLR you'd want a car anyways I suppose.

The main question is ... does the price make YOU happy?

If that's through their main site, it's possible you could do better using hotwire or priceline. Hotwire has some rates called Hot Rates that show up, and you agree to the price, finish the transaction, and then find out what car place you're getting.

We're trying to decide if we want to use Grayline's Disneyland Express or get a car, and I check daily with hotwire to see what the total would be. We rented once and it was good, but getting that last minute fillup was a bit scary (neighborhood near LAX we ended up in was a little bit rough)...it's possible we'll pay the fee ahead of time, if we rent (saves time too, we almost missed our plane during that trip!).

Be sure you know if your hotel charges for parking! If you're staying onsite, the Resort Fee includes parking, and everyone pays that fee even if you don't have a car. But a place like the Hilton charges something like $15 per day for parking.

If that rate is cancellable, you can make the reservation then keep looking around, and if you see something better, go for that and cancel the other!

I can cancel it as it is not a prepay. We are going to LA, Queen Mary etc so we are going to be doing a lot of driving. Staying at the DL hotel so we pay for parking anyway. I priced the shuttles if we were to drop the car off early but it would be more expensive.

Last time I rented a car I used Priceline. I ended up with a compact for just $12/day. You might look into that if you're not real picky about which company or kind of car you get (it does let you choose car "type", just not which particular car you get). We ended up with a PT Cruiser from Hertz. I hate PT Cruisers but for $12/day I wasn't complaining. :lmao:

$27 a day. That's pretty good. I would keep my eye out for cheaper. But it isn't bad
